The Vampire Diaries - Episode 3.03 - Casting Sides Info

Here is the low down on the side...

The side is for a girl named Becky! She is described as a Wild, Beautiful, Spoiled Vampire from Stefan's dark "ripper" past. She comes to Mystic Falls eager to re-spark her long lost crush.

First scene is in 1920- Chicago. She has a run in with a few men who are heckling while she is at the bar trying to enjoy the Jazz Singer. She is a Vampire at this time as one of the men tries to grab her and she grabs him hard and brings him down to his knees.

Next scene is present day Mystic Falls High School. Becky shows up and is signing up for Student Council. Caroline comes up to her and tells her it's a smart move to join the council, that it looks great on College Apps. Becky could care less, she tells Caroline that she just wants to rule the entire student body. Caroline is puzzled by her, and then introduces herself to Becky. Becky calls out everything that Caroline has done at MF, and tells her she has sort of cyber stalked her. Caroline is flattered but asks why? Becky tells her she wants everything Caroline has. Caroline tells her she can't just waltz in and have everything she has worked for. Becky tells her she can, that she's been doing it for longer than Caroline count. That it is just that easy..

Sounds like an interesting character.

    Ummm what is this Gossip Girl? LAME. Season 3 is looking more and more horrible at the moment.

    I can not wait for season 3 still watching reruns every thursday.. I am excited for a new charactor but I want Elija back I loved him,he is soooo funnny great to have him back. I did hear that Damon and E get closer as the look for Stefen and feel guilty becuz of the bond they share. I also heard that Nina will be playing a 3 person as one of the originals.

    Well well, I hope this girl can't keep her mouth shut and will tell us something about stefan's dark past. I mean, I'm sure there's quite some people in MF who wouldn't wanna hear about it, but I can't wait to find out about it. They've been quiet about that time for so long now, and even though Stefan turned quite evil at the end of Season 1 already, I think we still don't really know much about the "other" stefan. Can't wait to see it.
    Still, I don't know if I'm gonna like this girl ... it sounds like she walked the earth for all of these decades with quite an attitude ... BUT she has a crush on Stefan. Seriously, I'm starting to feel sorry for Damon. I mean, doesn't anyone ever crush on that poor man? (Rose. But that was different.)

    Interesting. I'm a bit put off as there will apparently be another "day walking" vampire to stir things up as I prefer that the availability of day walking vamps/jewelry to be more of a rarity. But I am pleased that this will give Caroline (who quickly became a fave for me) a storyline for herself.

    Wow.  TVD is actually using the high school for something other than a place to kill people.  What a nice surprise.  It's very easy to forget these people are supposed to be getting an education on this show.

    Agreed on both parts. It is getting annoying how nearly every vamp on the show has a daylight ring. And it's great about Caroline - she really became one of my favourite characters over the course of season 2. It'll be nice for her to have a non Matt/Tyler storyline too (great as it was).

    Did you miss the part about them bringing in a psychological horror writer for the new season? Add in that, evil Stefan and Jeremys dead ex-girlfriends being back and I think season 3 is shaping up pretty well so far.

    Sounds VD is following the old CW way instead going their own way like Supernatural does.  This season is going to really suck blood in a bad way.

    Well, it's rather mostly old vampired that have those rings. Either that, or the newer vampired have a closer relationship to a vampire / witch (or both, rather) that can do the magic. And are willing to (forced to, rather), as well.
    And since a lot of stuff is about the Stefan and Damon and Katherine and people connected to Katherine and now also the Originals ... it makes sense for a lot of them to have the ring. Like. Not many of the vampires have a ring, but all those that have one are connected - by history - in some way. And TVD deals with those a lot. That's how I'm explaining it to myself.
    ('Cause yes, I myself also would like to see a vampire again who just cannot walk in the daylight ... but as long as it still makes sense, I guess I'm ok with it)

    Yeah, it's just that all the main vampire characters have them which is a little annoying, but I suppose it's good in the way that they can be around during daytime. Mystic Falls seems to have a lot of enchanted jewellery though!

    The other vamps probably make an effort to befriend witches like Katherine did, in order to get daylight rings. I did like that Rose never had one despite being quite a central character for several episodes.

    Because a brief casting side tells you the direction of the entire season: Obviously TVD is going the way of Gossip Girl (sarcasm).

    This could be an annoying character, but given how long these characters tend to live on this show, I'm not worried.

    80% of the plot is going to be on Damon, Stefan and Elena's side and I would be shocked if we spent much time in high school on that side of things.

    I kinda like the Elena has competition for Stefan, and one that takes a no-holds-bar way of it. Interesting twist. As long as she doesn't get Caroline bloodlusty and out on the rampage, will give her a chance.
