I didn't know that. Hopefully it is going somewhere interesting and I'll get to be wrong lol. From these sneak peeks it seems like "Look how goofy he is! Isn't it funny?".
Complaining about True Blood's plots is stupid. Most of them are taken from the books. And this is the main plot in Dead to the World, so yeah. They couldn't just write it off x) Plus, I love how it was in the books. Hope it'll be as good on the show!
I'm happy Ball seems to keep the Sookie plot the same from the book each year. I wish he would do less creating of all the Bon Temps townsfolk plots. Oh well....
... well ... but that leaves room to speculate as well ... I mean ... is he really gonna kill Claudine or will she not be dead? With that show, you never know. Especially with previews / sneak peaks like this.
These are not the official HBO sneek peaks. The title is misleading. It actually shouldn't be posted without huge spoiler warning in my opinion. This is from Sish network actually and contains intervies with the cast. Inbetween the interwiws they're showing clips from ep 3 which someone just cut out and posted it as sneek peaks.
I have to admit, I loved the storyline in the book (it is my favorite of the books, actually). But it was dealt with differently. You didn't know what actually happened to him until the last third of the book. Whereas in the show they - obviously - showed us what happened. They should have just let that part out and then slowly built up to finding out what happened, including Bill sending him there, imo ... would have been a lot better.
And as for "goofy Eric" bit ... I think I can already tell that I enjoy Alex's evil Eric better than his amnesia Eric ... *shrugs* ... well, those clips seem .. awkward.
Yeah that threw me for a bit of a loop honestly. I never put too much stock in preview clips since they can be so misleading, but killing her at this point would be a major change from the books.
You probably know it from here http://www.trueblood-online.com/uncategorized/true-blood-season-4-good-to-the-last-drop-clips-from-episode-3/#more-73264
I dunno. I actually think Eric'd pretty funny in these scenes and I like the idea of exploring the characters in knew ways, by having them deal with 'what they were not', causing them all to change and fight for their identities.
It's one of those shows where one does better not to ask too many questions and just go with it!
I can't believe they killed HER, she is such an important character later on lol. (in the books), and now I guess her brother Claude isn't gonna be happy to live with Sookie either. Damn I like Claude :(
I think amnesia Eric is adorable lol. Also I'm so with Pam on this one. That's what I thought the minute this week's ep ended, that Bill had set him up.
I've been excited about Eric losing his memory since I read the fourth Sookie Stackhouse novel. Eric is so cute in these clips! I like that you can still see part of who he is behind it, though. It's not like he completely vanished but there is a vulnerability to him. Can't wait for the next episode! Thanks for sharing these previews.
Which is exactly what got me thinking. I mean, yes, they've changed quite a bit on the show compared to the books, but as for the whole mythology (the history of the vampires, everything about the shifters, how they can die, how they get created, how they deal with being open to the public - or not, in the shifters' case - and all of that stuff), they pretty much stuck to the book a lot. Yes, some things are ... bigger on the show than they've been in the book (mainly season 3 and that whole "group orgy" thing Oo), but the main idea and reason behind it was never changed. Then again, they've changed some of the mythology for the fairies in episodes 4x01 already, so. Yah. But I'm still having my hopes high up on that. A Vampire can't just kill a fairy. I mean, he technically could, but they're not clever enough for that. Not when only having their teeth with their brains switched off due to the fairy's presence.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I know a lot of people are excited about the Eric amnesia thing but I just find it hokey. Even for True Blood.
ReplyDeletewell, that plot is taken from the book and i'm glad they're sticking with it.

ReplyDeleteThere is a very good reason for it..... Whether or not you will enjoy it I can't say I guess. XD
ReplyDeleteso yeah beware, last clip spoils death of a character

ReplyDeleteLove the clips, but they have that weird background music.
ReplyDeleteA lot of minor spoils too. Usually HBO does a better job with episode promo material and just hints at events without giving that much away.
NAH.

Makes sense.. They did not feel like HBO clips....

ReplyDeleteI am so eager to watch True Blood Season 4 episode 3 upcoming episode
ReplyDeleteCall me crazy but, for some reason, I think people will enjoy confused, shirtless Eric.

ReplyDeleteWell the Eric amnesia thing is from the books so I think it will be amazing! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat, they killed off another character that wasn't supposed to die YET!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is there any other characters they wanna ruin?!
