  1. I am getting so amped up for all the returning Summer series now..... Torchwood: Miracle Day is definitely near the top of that list!

  2. Esp since we are getting a slightly longer version than over the pond :D

  3. Well, hard to say "we are"  when I am in the Midwest US and you're in the UK aren't you?  I think I am over the pond ;)

  4. Awww, you will still be getting a few little extra shots that we won't be getting then.  The BBC version is having some graphic scenes edited differently, but then a couple of extra scenes to make it up to 54 mins.  Starz only want a run time of 50 mins to allow for it's ads to run before and afterwards.

  5. Interesting. I can deal with graphic stuff, but those extra "filler" scenes may be fun and not just filler! I may have to watch both! XD

  6. That's exactly what I plan on doing.

  7. haha, I think most people plan to.  The extra UK scenes are rumoured to be jokey/more tailored to a Brit audience than elsewhere, so I think you're right on the money with fun rather than entirely filler, lol.

It's odd but the only complaining I've heard about these different 'edits' is British people not liking the UK version having a few seconds of overly graphic shots taken out.  I'd be far more upset if I was American and missing 3 minutes worth of bonus material, lol.  Is odd how fandom works.

  8. I've grown tired of complaining over our American edits of British series... or our swapped narrators on UK documentaries too.

I mean we speak the same language - why does there need to be different narrators? And even if there's  need.... You get Sir David Attenborough and we get Oprah or Sigourney Weaver...sigh. I mean they are both great actresses and speak well, but they are not Sir David dammit! His voice IS documentary narration at its finest!

Huh, look at that.. I guess I wasn't completely tired of complaining about it! XD

  9. So hyped for Torchwood coming back! May be my most anticipated return of the summer.

  10. I really hope US audiences tune in for Torchwood on Starz.  With Camelot being canceled the network will be looking to fill the void and the shows Starz has in development don't seem nearly as interesting as  shows like Torchwood, Spartacus, and Camelot.  Watch Torchwood and keep it on the air.

  11. I absolutely loved the first season of Strike Back when it was on SkyTV still. Can't go wrong with Andrew Lincoln and Richard Armitage!

That said, the second season looks to be tweaked a lot and I am not as hopeful it will be as good as Season One honestly.

  12. Isn't Strike Back a joint venture of Sky & Cinemax?

  13. Oh you're right!
I was thinking it was on Starz. D'oh. Makes sense since I saw ads for it after HBO's GoT.... XD

Boss is new on Starz... I like political thrillers, but Frazier is Frazier.... no one else... He is doomed.

Don't recall what else they have coming up then if SB is on MAX....

  14. He'll also always be Sideshow Bob so, yeah, I agree with you 100%.

  15. Part of me does wonder if part of Camelot production problems is that more money has gone on Torchwood.  There is a lot of money being spent on ads, and I imagine a fair chunk put aside already for the next season.....

  16. I suppose that could be part of it.  This cancellation has left me hoping that Eva Green finds another television project.  She needs to have her own show.

  17. I hadn't heard about this at all! Now I'm torn as to whether I should watch it with the U.S. or the U.K. My mother's English and I've been to England a good half dozen times so I have grown up with and love British humour. At the same time, I am very interested to see what Starz is doing to make the show even more adult.
