Hey Guys,
Yesterday saw Fringe see off Buffy in a close Quarter Final that still failed to create the same level of buzz that both Supernatural and The Vampire Diaries have done in previous rounds... Fringe will need much more support if it wants to stand a chance of becoming the number one show!
Today is Joss Whedon day of the competition as two of his shows, Angel and Firefly are set to do battle to see which show will create our Semi-Final line-up and fight it out alongside Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries & Fringe for the ultimate prize!
The rules for, for anyone new to the competition are very simple. There will be new sets of shows against each other every day in a new set of polls... simply vote for your favourite and the show with the most votes will win that days poll and head into the next round.
Don't forget to spread the word, and tweet out the competition to friends as well as facebook liking the post...
Also if you are taking part in the prediction competition, don't forget to follow your scores HERE Long time leader Sergey Sevostianov still leads by nine points and the grip he holds over the top spot is almost looking untouchable at this stage.

ReplyDeleteI orginally placed Firefly in my final 4, but I think after looking at it, I thought it would be unrealistic and changed it. Would need to check my bracket again, but I gave up on it pretty early.
ReplyDeleteI liked Angel and thought Firefly was okay, so Angel it is. Although if I were choosing the top 4 shows, neither of these two would be in it still.

ReplyDeleteThis is hard! On one hand, I loved Angel and think it's much better than most people realise. Just tends to play second fiddle to Buffy. And then Firefly was brilliant but had such a short run..
ReplyDeleteI'm voting Angel. Because it had such great character arcs with Fred (Amy Acker needs a lead role in something) and Wesley.

ReplyDeleteI like both these shows but my vote goes to Angel because it was a great show that i enjoyed for 5 seasons.If Firefly run for longer than a season it would probably be much better than Angel but it never got that chance...

ReplyDeleteBuffy/Angel are in my top 5 shows of all time, so Angel obviously got my vote.
ReplyDeleteWhile i thought Firefly was an okay show (and i really liked the movie), for me its not in the same league as Buffy/Angel.
If I were to vote in this poll 10 times I may have 5 votes for each of the series. Tough call!
ReplyDeleteIn the end, by the slimmest of margins I went with Angel since it introduced me to Darling Vioeltta and because Firefly was an incomplete series.

ReplyDeleteI just finished Angel season 1 last night and enjoyed it very much so Angel for me. I didn't realize that Firefly only had 1 season so many years ago, I thought it ended recently considering how far it has come with its passionate fans. I will definitely check out Firefly after this competition!

ReplyDeleteWatched both, Firefly and Angel. Both series got cancelled and I hate it if a series, no matter how many episodes it has, doesn't have a proper ending :(
ReplyDeleteI actually liked both series but in the end I voted for Angel. Sorry, it was a gut feeling and I have no real explenation as of why...
I didn't catch up with Firefly till way after it was cancelled. I think if it hadn't cancelled it would have probably developed into something better (not that I'm saying it was bad - but it didn't reach out and grab me by the throat the way it obviously did some people).
ReplyDeleteAngel is not one of my favorite shows ever either but it beats out Firefly.
In my opinion Firefly is as perfect as a one season show can be. I've seen every episode over ten times and I can't think of single thing I wish had been done differently.
ReplyDeleteI still voted for Angel. Amy Acker as Fred/Illyria was an award worthy performance and Wesley's character development from his first appearance on the show up until the finale is just masterfully handled.
While Angel didn't get a 'proper' ending I still feel like 'Not Fade Away' was an amazing finale. The scenes between Wesley and Illyria are among my favorites from any Whedon show.
Of these two, I chose Firefly. As much as I loved it, it won't be my final decision.
ReplyDeleteI love Angel, but that love pales in comparison to my total adulation of Firefly. If only it had more episodes it would probably beat my #1 also. Firefly was just incredible and will forever rule the 'verse.

ReplyDeleteWow! Over 12 hours into the contest and we haven't even broken 700 votes combined. So is it because it's the weekend or is it that no one really cares about these 2 shows anymore? And it looks like Fringe strolls casually without so much as a drop of sweat into the finals.
ReplyDeletethe sheer fact that firefly made it this far proves how strong the loyal its fan base is. i am a fan of both shows so it was hard to choose but i had to go with firefly :D.

ReplyDeleteI agree on all counts. Especially about Amy Acker, her character changed so much and she portrayed Fred/Illyria so well throughout. And Wesley had one of my favourite character arcs in a Whedon show. The season 4 episode where the group revert to their younger selves really highlights how much he grew in the show.
ReplyDeleteAnd I really like the finale. To me, it sums up the shows spirit. They went out fighting, because the fight goes on and it's never really over. That final shot of the remaining characters in the rain ready to take on what was coming was perfect.
