  2. I found it slow and formulaic.  Probably won't watch the second episode.

  3. I'm going to give the second episode a shot. Most shows tend to change a lot after the Pilot.

  4. Interesting.  I wasn't blown away, but I'll watch the next episode.

  5. It had me at Callum-Keith Rennie.
I had issues with Cameron's perfect mind-body control. Okay it's awesome in concept, but even having perfect control does not mean he could predict the carom of a baseball off an irregular dirt base path or carom a bullet off an air vent. So many other things could influence the projectile despite a perfect shot or a perfect throw. He couldn't predict a soft spot in the dirt or an odd pebble that may throw the ball off course - he couldn't foresee rat droppings in the vent or a bent air duct that would misdirect the bullet.I really like that the heroes seem to use their strengths at cost to other areas making sure they will never become omnipotent and ruin the series like Heroes. I also loved that it di not try to wow the viewer with ridiculous action sequences - it told a story. The good alphas versus a terrorist alpha group could be good plots for months if not years. Add in that Rennie's character is likely the true villain and I like the direction of the series. A much better groundwork than most hero series or even most of the pilots in the last year or two. Sure it was not perfect, but pilots rarely are.

I will watch for a few weeks at least, and if it matures and stays grounded in reality I will have a new series on my watch list.

  6. That pace and that formula were what I liked.

A relatively well told, grounded in reality series that did not try to blind the viewer with silly over-the-top action scenes or overly complex plots that lose viewers if built too fast.

  7. Good opener, didn't blow me away but piqued my interest enough for a few more eps before I decide.

  9. Didn't interest me as say the pilot to heroes but I like the pilot (and the shows premise) in general its much better than No Ordinary Family (Which I liked the ideas but the portrayal of the powers and villains annoyed me) and the Cape (which I hated every second i watched) But it is good. I would however like to see an alpha with a more physical ability like say telekinesis (a mild version not quite as strong as Sylar) or slowing down time (but done in a way that the person and their actions are faster than normal not time being slowed down in a literal sense)

  10. What should I say? I was excited about this show for weeks. And yesterday, finally, there was the day :) And I have to say, I am not disappointed. I liked every second of it. I like the Alphas, I like all the actors and I like the abilities.  It's similar to Warehouse 13 and Eureka, because of it's charm.
The pilot was great and I am looking forward to the next episode and what it will bring us.
I don't understand why everyone is Alphas comparing to Heroes. It's about superheroes, but there are more shows with this subject.
I just saw the first season of Heroes and a few episodes from the second and after seeing the pilot of Alphas, I just can say, it's completely different. Heroes was dark and serious but Alphas is funny and it has the typically SyFy-charm I like so much.
I liked the pilot so much, because everyone in the team has an advantage from his or her ability but also a disadvantage. No one on the team could have solve this case alone, they need the help from their teammates. I'm looking forward to see more of the interaction between the team.

  11. i thought it was a solid Pilot that did a good job of introducing characters & setting up back stories w/o being in your face with it.  The actors already seem fairly comfortable in their roles and i hope this means they only grow into them better.  I'll be sticking around to see what they have to show

  12. The First 40 minutes were awesome but then after it go boring. It was too long of a pilot. I still liked it soo i am gonna watch episode 2!
