The family part of Michael's life was substantial in the pilot, written by Susannah Grant, but the project has since been retooled by showrunner Neal Baer, an ER veteran, with the focus shifted predominantly to Michael's medical world, a change underscored by the recent casting of Rachelle Lefevre as a new doctor. With the series becoming essentially a medical drama and the family element taking a back seat, Benz, repped by ICM and Vincent Cirrincione Associates, renegotiated her deal and will now be recurring on the show, allowing her to tackle other projects.

I was going to say poor Julie, but if she's able to do more projects, than yay!
ReplyDeletewhy? I mean why aren't they looking for originality? viewers can be discouraged by watching, yet, another medical drama. I'd rather they stick with the 'drama' aspect. But I'm not crossing the title out.
ReplyDeleteafter all it's a CBS show
ReplyDeleteIt is a CBS Show that's all
ReplyDeleteyet another medical drama...
ReplyDeleteNot so interested now!
ReplyDeleteI would think that would just be the natural way for the show to survive as more than a TV mini-series.
ReplyDeleteWell that gives me more incentive to just ignore this show.
ReplyDeleteBefore I wrote off the series for personal reasons, but now... it's for legitimate reasons. Medical series are either bad to start with or get old after a season or two regardless of how good they are.
ReplyDeleteA very bad decision. The initial premise sounded great, but really, ANOTHER medical drama? Such a shame.
ReplyDeleteWell, I WAS planning to give this a chance because of the family dynamic but if they focus everything on the medical aspect, then that just means that my TV schedule is a little less cluttered. Thanks for giving me a reason to not tune!
ReplyDeleteLet's not forget that CBS has the absolute worst track record with medical shows among the four major networks.
ReplyDeletewell she has TNT Movie project coming up so that might be why
ReplyDeleteWell, network television only seems to want originality when it's already been a success for someone else.
