According to our sources Fringe are currently looking for a new recurring Asian Female character. Filming of Episode 4.01 starts on 14th July and finishes on 25th July.

We'll post more details as/when we get it.

Hopefully this means that we'll start to see more Fringe spoilers soon.

  1. A new recurring female character? Hmm. Perhaps a new Fringe Division agent or an inter-universe liaison?

  3. I hope her storyline is as important and well developed as Amy Jessup's. Oh wait...

Also didn't they call for an Asian character last season and ended up going with a non-Asian for the part? Which character was that again? Or am I thinking of a different show?

  4. Thought so. In that case which character was it? I wanna say Brad Dourif's character but I'm not sure.

  5. I really disliked Amy Jessup so I was glad when she fell of the face of the Universe.

  6. Oh me too, but she was still a character they made it seem would have a bigger part to play in the show but then she didn't at all.

  7. Moreu, they also wanted a big name asian star. And it ended up being a 10 sec role

  8. And it's a damn shame, I think what we all built up in our heads for that character from the casting call had so much promise :B

  9. Doesnt this sound like a female character they were looking for at the same time last season?

  10. Part of the confusion may be that Fringe's PTB tag "possibly recurring" on any character who doesn't wind up dead or arrested in the course of the episode.  So don't count on any real recurrences.

I always like seeing Asian actors get some screentime, and especially in a mainstream role where it isn't expected (by which I mean, how all the Asian actors have gotten roles in Hawaii 5-0, but just because it's Hawaii).

  14. Poor Amy Jessup.  Fringe will never live that one down.  Heh.

  15. Always thought that was weird. Didn't think she was awful... Just thought that the showrunners deciding she should no longer exist anymore was strange.

  19. YAY first Fringe news!! Could mean anything these days so I won't speculate but very exciting! As for poor Amy Jessup. I agree with those that said Fringe won't live that one down but I personally didn't miss her....what I did miss was the storyline that they started with how she was related the cases to Revelations and the end of times. I thought that was super interesting and wish it had been pursued but oh well yay Fringe!
