TNT's alien-invasion drama Falling Skies, executive produced by Steven Spielberg and starring Noah Wyle, doesn't premiere until June 19 but the network and producer DreamWorks TV are already looking ahead to a potential Season 2 with the hire of Caprica co-creator Remi Aubuchon as executive producer/showrunner.

  1. I'm not sure I like this.

  2. I hope not but, yeah.  That's kind of what I was thinking.

  3. Sounds ominous indeed! Take a series showrunner who's show was cancelled for being too slow and boring and then pair him with a series who's one major fault seems to be a driving direction and slow simmer of plot advancement....

    Yeah, I'm a bit worried.

  4. This is from almost 3 months ago. Since then TNT has renewed the series, but made no official announcement naming the showrunner.

  6. I was wondering because I haven't heard anything in the Falling Skies e-mail notices I've been getting.

  7. Take a writer from two failed series and put them in charge of another show? Yeah, that makes sense.

There goes any hope of season 2 being better than season 1.

  9. Whatever happened to the days when you
could watch Star Gate 1 every week for years on end. They had way more
CGI than this and they managed. Sure they had less profit, BUT come on,
    this is ridiculous. Insanely so.
Look at all the great shows that ended being canceled just after 1
season or not even that, just because the viewership didn’t keep 5mil+
    viewers.
How on earth do they measure that anyhow? Majority does not have set
top boxes connected to their friggin network to count. Advertising
backed shows are always condemned to fail. Why. Cause people download it
    later sans-commercials which doesn’t count.
Well stop raping us with your commercials, hows that?
