The ladies of Wisteria Lane might want to call in the moving vans. ABC and the producers behind long-running Sunday-night soap Desperate Housewives could decide in a few weeks if the show's upcoming eighth season will be its last.
Creator Marc Cherry and executive producer Bob Daily are both signed to remain with the series through the season, as well as a potential ninth season. But rumblings have started that the producers and network may decide to go out with a bang this year rather than stretch things. Nothing's been decided yet, but ABC knows the question will be a key one when the network meets with reporters on August 7 at the Television Critics Association's summer press tour. That's why some insiders believe a decision could be made by then.

I think it's time to end the show. Season eight being it would be nice.
ReplyDeleteI guess I cant say i didnt see this coming...even though i <3 This show! :D
ReplyDeleteI watched Desperate Housewives up through Season 4 just for Nathan Fillion. I could have watched less but I don't like jumping into a show without having seen all the episodes.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, it was starting to lose some of its charm then. I can only imagine how different it must be now.
8 is a better number to leave it than 9 especially as it started to loose its spark from around Season 5. I love this show but Season 6 was just horrible.
ReplyDeleteYou watched 4 seasons and 87 episodes for Nathan Fillion's 11 appearances? :P
ReplyDeleteAnyway, season 4 was awesome, breathed new life into the show, and was lauded by critics and fans alike.
I LOVE this show with all my heart, but I don't want them to drag it more than 8 seasons :/ I'll be sad to watch it end though :( ABC should decide before the season starts so they could promote it like it should be ala Lost.
