The crime scene behind the yellow tape just got a lot more interesting on CSI.
CBS is set to announce that Ted Danson will take over for Laurence Fishburne as the drama’s leading man for the show’s 12th season. Danson will play the CSI supervisor for the grave shift after heading the crime lab in Portland. He comes to the team as they are still grappling with the professional and personal fallout from last season’s take-down of serial killer, Nate Haskell.
“You can create a new character on the page, but until the perfect actor comes along and breathes life into it, it’s just words,” said executive producer Carol Mendelsohn. “We’re very excited Ted Danson came along.”

i thought catherine was graveyard shift supervisor
ReplyDeleteInteresting! Love Ted because of Cheers and Becker, but enough to watch the show.
ReplyDeleteI think the shark might have just got jumped.
ReplyDeleteWow! Would never have seen this coming.
ReplyDeleteSo does this mean that Catherine is being demoted? Or is Catherine leaving?
ReplyDeleteI heard first she was leaving, and now im hearing she will stay. So maybe she will demote herself so she can get more spare time. Or she will get another role within the police.
ReplyDeleteDanson was absolutely BRILLIANT on Damages!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how the fit will be, but it won't be his lack of talent to blame. That much I know.
Is Fishburne coming back briefly to end his character arc or just disappearing?
ReplyDeleteI was wondering the same thing. I don't follow the show much so I 'm not sure either.
ReplyDeleteI don't follow it at all but I was intrigued to know... would suck for the fans if he just disappeared!
ReplyDeleteI watched for a few years and it got old. I watched when Fishburne joined and loved his story. Actually added an almost serial element to the series.
ReplyDeleteI may watch to see how Danson is since he rocked Damages, but I doubt he will make me want to watch week to week like Fishburne did.
I guess that's how agent Jessup fans must feel.... both of them! XD
ReplyDeleteInteresting development. I've always enjoyed TD's work, and it'll interesting to see the approach he and the show runners take from here on out.
ReplyDeleteHope that doesn't mean anything bad for Bored to Death, really like that show.
ReplyDeleteWe knew Fishburne was leaving, and most knew Marg was leaving (kinda). If a comedian is coming on to the show now, they must be desperate. But...(speaking as a fan of Liz Vassey and shipper of Wedges) if this guy used to head the Portland crime lab...Possible Wendy coming back?
ReplyDelete*Total fangirling*
In "Damages", he was great and I think he's a very good choice for the leadership with his apperance and acting ability. I'm looking forward to the new season ;)
ReplyDeleteInteresting...
ReplyDeleteSeason 12 will be more interesting because Ted Danson is joining the cast. Thanks for the info. I am looking forward to the next post related to CSI TV Show.
ReplyDeleteThis is bad, this is very bad.
ReplyDeleteWhat happens to bored to death?
TV Line say he's a regular in both shows now
ReplyDeleteTV Line say he's a regular in both shows now
ReplyDeleteThanks, glad to hear that!
ReplyDeleteShe is leaving
ReplyDeleteJoe Flanigan or David Hewlett (or both) from Stargate Atlantis could be perfect for that role
ReplyDeleteThe shark junped a long time ago, as asoon as Grissom and Sara became known
ReplyDeletetrust me, no it wouldn't
