i want Neil Patrick Harris to win this time...
ReplyDeleteNick Offerman. There's no greater character than Ron Swanson.
ReplyDeleteTed Danson (Bored To Death)
ReplyDeleteKen Jeong(Community)
Zach Galifiankis(Bored To Death)
Aziz Ansari (Parks & Recreation)Nick Offerman (Parks & Recreation)
Give Bored To Death some love, not garbage like HIMYM or TBBT.
NPH, Ed O'Neil, Aziz Ansari, Chris Pratt (he's just so stupid/funny), Ty Burrell and Rainn Wilson.
ReplyDeleteI only watch one show out of all these, but these seem to be the most deserving.
As much as I love NPH this season of HIMYM was fairly weak and even he didn't save it. However, I think Jason Segel deserves a nod for "Bad News".
ReplyDeleteNeil Patrick Harris gets my vote!
ReplyDeleteOH CRAP...Community is snubbed yet again!
ReplyDeleteDanny Pudi ftw people.
At least Chevy Chase...c'mon!
NPH, Ken Jeong, Aziz Ansari, and "Other"
ReplyDeleteOther: Jim Rash (Community's Dean Pelton), Danny DiVito (Always Sunny), Adam Reed (Ray Gillette on Archer)
I think Donald Glover would end up getting the nod over Danny Pudi or Chevy Chase. Of course, that's in the unlikely event that any of them get nominated.
ReplyDeleteThat's insanely hard, but I'd go with this:
ReplyDeleteDanny Pudi: He was incredible this season on Community, one of the funniest network sitcoms. Also delivered maybe the best one-liner this year: "Six season and a movie!"
Nick Offerman: Pretty much as funny as Pudi on Community, but he was such a stand-out as Ron Swanson who is one of TV's funniest characters.
Charlie Day: He's the best in the great ensemble that It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia has. Some recognition would be well-deserved.
Nick Kroll: Hard to choose who's the funniest of the The League guys, but for me he's the winner, closely followed by Jonathan Lajoie. Insanely funny show and I love how it is just semi-scripted and leaves a lot of room for improvisation.
Ted Danson: Bored to Death really stepped up its game in season 2 and Ted Danson was a huge factor in this. Loved that he, Schwartzman & Galifianakis got a lot of scenes together, it made the show very funny.
Kunal Nayyar: A bit under-appreciated, but for me he was the funniest of the TBBT guys this year.
In the poll, in my opinion, the Emmy-worthy supporting actors are :
ReplyDeleteRainn Wilson — Dwight K. Schrute (The Office).
Ed O'Neill — Jay Pritchett (Modern Family).
Ty Burell — Phil Dunphy (Modern Family).
Aziz Ansari — Tom Haverton (Parks and Recreation).
Neil Patrick Harris — Barney Stinson (HIMYM) - Can't believe he didn't already win an Emmy for that role !
Not included in the poll but deserving as much an Emmy nomination as the others above :
Danny Pudi — Abed Nadir (Community).
Nick Offerman — Ron Swanson (Parks and Recreation).
Garett Dillahunt — Burt Chance (Raising Hope).
Rob McElhenney — Mac (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia).
Jeremy Piven — Ari Gold (Entourage).
Ted Danson — George Christopher (Bored to Death).
Steve Little — Stevie Janowski (Eastbound and Down).
I would give the Emmy to Nick Offerman. He's just perfect in that role. However, I wouldn't mind if Danny Pudi or Garett Dillahunt took the trophy home. They both were outstanding as well and I'm always for supporting underdog comedies that will have a hard time ratings-wise. Community and Raising Hope already have critical praise but having some Emmy wins would be even better.
And next year, it would be nice if Jeremy Piven got the Emmy. Ari Gold is just one of the best chracters ever created and Jeremy Piven's great acting is the reason why. Thus, as Entourage is entering its final season, rewarding Piven for the last time would be more than deserved (even if he did a hat-trick from 2006 to 2008, winning the trophy 3 times in a row).
One of TV's funniest characters right now!
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree that Bored to Death's second season was a blast to watch, but I wouldn't call HIMYM or TBBT garbage. While HIMYM is definitely past its prime, it was a fun show in its first seasons. And TBBT is one of the best network comedies out there, even though I prefered s3 over s4.
ReplyDeleteBut FX still has the best comedy line up and I'd love to see it getting some recognition.
Nothing against Glover & Chase, but Pudi is the stand out supporting character on Community and one of the main reasons why it's so funny.
ReplyDeleteAh, dammit! I forgot about Nick Offerman. Ron Swanson and his "full douche" hairdo are epic.
ReplyDeleteOh I absolutely agree but meta humor doesn't seem to go over great with Award Shows.
ReplyDeleteDay submitted himself as supporting actor, so I went with him, McElhenneywould have been my second Sunny choice.
ReplyDeletewhaaaaa?? why isn't danny pudi in this poll?????????
ReplyDeleteKen Jeong or Chris Pratt all the way.
ReplyDeleteJason Segel, NPH and Simon Helberg.
ReplyDeleteI feel like Chris Colfer would be better nominated in the drama category because although Glee is classed as a comedy, Chris' storylines involve mostly dramatic scenes.
I think Jon Cryer deserves an Emmy purely for putting up with that assbutt Charlie Sheen for all these years
ReplyDeleteNo, TBBT and HIMYM still garbage.
ReplyDeleteIT's Neil Patrick Harris and everyone else.
ReplyDeleteRain Wilson is amazing. It was a tough one between him and NPH
ReplyDeleteAgreed about Jason Segel, he was great in that episode.
ReplyDeleteHe really is. Why is Ken Jeong (whose character is so annoying) there but Pudi, Glover and Chase aren't?
ReplyDeleteJason Siegel from HIMYM, he was amazing in the Bad News episode, his performance made me cry. A nod would be nice.
ReplyDeleteIt's unbelievable that NPH still hasn't won an Emmy for Barney, this season was a bit weak, but the scenes with his dad still showed his acting skills.
And Community, oh Community. I'd be so pleasantly surprised if even one actor from the show got a nomination. I don't even know which one to choose, Danny Pudi, Ken Jeong, Jim Rash, Donald Glover? They're all brilliant and hilarious!
His character is annoying, but it does take a lot of acting to make him that annoying. :P Seriously now, I think all the Community guys deserve to be in that list, they're brilliant actors.
ReplyDeletethat's why you can nominate up to 6 people ;)
ReplyDeleteFor me it`s NPH and Jon Cryer
ReplyDeleteNPH ftw!!! and Jason Segel and Chris Colfer!
ReplyDeleteWhere's Eric Stonestreet?
ReplyDeleteChang felt a bit displaced this season. He sometimes just popped up for a few scenes, missed complete episodes (which was the right thing to do), so I rather see him as guest star and not even as supporting actor.
ReplyDeleteHe had his funny moments, but he was way better as a teacher. Chang needs to be in a position where he has some authority. Luckily Dan Harmon said that they are thinking of putting Chang back in such a position in s3, because that's where he's really funny.
Yeah, he was much better in S1 when he was a teacher. It's like he spent all of this season just annoying the study group and trying to join them. I'd say the supporting male characters are Pudi, Glover and Chase.
ReplyDeleteIm al for Neil Patrick Harris! :)
ReplyDeleteRob Lowe from Parks and Rec.
ReplyDeleteGarret Dillahant from Raising Hope.
Then: Ken Jeong from Community, Asiz Ansari from Parks and Rec, Chris Pratt from Parks and Rec, and Neil Patrick Harris.
wait? Where's Nick Offerman???
ReplyDeleteAnyway, Nick Offerman, Ty Burrell and Adam Scott
have to admit I forgot him :(
