The prize: ending the Apocalypse. The price: Sam's life. Season 5's horrific finale left Dean alone, as Sam descended into Hell. Now a different man, Dean vows to stop hunting and devote himself to building a family with Lisa and her son Ben. Then, mysteriously, Sam reappears, drawing Dean back into the old life. But Sam's a different man too. He's returned without his soul. How the Winchesters confront this greatest challenge yet to their powerful bond is the troubled heart - and soul - of the profound and thrilling 22-Episode Season 6. As the brothers struggle to reunite, they must also battle deadly supernatural forces. Demons. Angels. Vampires. Shapeshifters. And a terrifying new foe called the Mother of All.
Last March we relayed the word that DVD and Blu-ray Disc releases of Supernatural - The Complete 6th Season would be hitting the streets on September 13th, and today Warner Home Video formally announced this title for that exact date. They've also verified the costs of $59.98 SRP for a 6-DVD set, and $69.97 SRP for the 4-BD high-def version. Finalized package art hasn't been provided by the studio so far, but we've still got the early look below (could be subject to change) that we first passed along several weeks ago:

AFGHHHH...
ReplyDeleteNot the snake!
Why not that pic with the 3 of them standing over a grave? Much MUCH better.
Ugh, this just makes me upset. XD
I dislike this airbrushed picture soooo much. UGH, and the season 7 pic is just as bad
ReplyDeleteCompletely agree!
ReplyDeleteWAY too much airbrushing and ridiculous snake.... I'll be using this *look down*Here you can pretend it's the cover.... at least until you buy it... XD
1000000000000x better.
ReplyDeleteGod, sometimes I swear I should be hired for art direction on certain shows. lol "You don't need to do that... instead do this, and don't do that..."
season 7 pic?
ReplyDeleteI looked and found these but I don't know what she is referring to...
ReplyDeleteSo, is it just me or is the description for the season like a total giveaway for all the storylines. Why don't they just go out and reveal the Crowley twist!?! You'd think they would at least try to avoid certain details in the season description for those who haven't seen it (PS I've watched it, but I find it's kind of weird how much they tell you)
ReplyDeleteIt reveals the set-ups to all the season's plots and sub-plots but nothing beyond that. Given the fact that the majority of the people buying the DVDs have already seen the episodes it's really not a big deal.
ReplyDeleteI don't think those are season 7 pics. I think someone spread 'em around. These were taken during season 6. Plus, I think they take promo pics over the summer when they're filming the new season.
ReplyDeleteThat was my thoughts about it too, but since they were labeled as such I thought I'd mention that was what I found in my search.
ReplyDeleteI must be odd because I love the snake, but the snake would have more appropriate for the S5 cover.
ReplyDeleteI don't like Castiel so I'm fine with Cass not being on the cover but this might not be the final cover artwork.
first off all i love this because Sam looks so cold hence the snake and he is cold in this season e.g no soul
ReplyDeleteThey have been using these photos to promote season 7 in the last couple of weeks.
ReplyDeleteWhat's up with the snake? XD
ReplyDeleteThe worst cover they've ever made... -.-
Gotta love how CW recycles pics for promotions huh? Iguess they all do it, but it seems like the CW does it more often and more obviously...
ReplyDeleteThis post is pointless. I've seen news items that list the special features. I just don't see the point in posting this.
ReplyDeleteFinally a release date! I saw the sam picture on another site, but there was no snake. The description below the picture stated that it was going to be the cover for the season 6 DVD set. I pre-ordered season 6 through Amazon last September (right after the new season began), so now September 13 just has to get here quickly!
ReplyDeleteOff to the beach for a week of sun and fun. I will catch up on all the Supernatural news when I get back!
I just don't see the point in bitching about posting this.
ReplyDeleteIMO one of the better covers even if it is over air-brushed. I love the sexy sinister look about Sam obviously a reference to soulless Sam and defiant strong Dean which he very much started to become in the second half of the season.
ReplyDeleteAnd no Cas does not belong on the cover I think even Misha would agree with that?!
the way I see it, is the snake is the perfect picture of Souless Sam: Vicious, dangerous, strike when you least expected, bite you the second you turn your back on him
ReplyDeleteWanned to die or pull my eyes out first time i saw this pic and still do. BRING ME THE IMPALA and uck that snape away omg!
ReplyDeleteand BTW who ever makes those picture, those guys are ALREADY FREAKEN HOT! no need to change their face and make them look.... look all plastic and weird and NOT SUPERNATURAL!
im fine... totally not going crazy over this hellatus.. NOT
There's only one question raised by me here: DVD or Blu-Ray?
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for the Winchesters on BluRay!
ReplyDeleterecycles pics? what the heck or you talkin' about!
ReplyDelete*cough* season 3 pics for season 6 promotion *cough*
;)
WOW THIS IS PERFECT! plus they dont have a big close up so the pic doesnt look as fake! (and misha is there :DDD kinda deserve to be with that ending hahah)
