I voted for Mad Men, Doctor Who, Oz & Friends...
ReplyDeleteThe ones I'm hoping go through are Friends & Doctor Who... the others I'd like to see go through :)
Voted for Doctor Who and Angel. Haven't seen either of all the other shows (apart from one episode of Oz).
ReplyDeleteI think in the last poll that the obvious choice for most people would be Friends but I never really got the appeal of it and Angel is one of my favorites, so there.
Mad Men, Doctor Who, Stargate (although haven't seen either) & Angel
ReplyDeleteGo Oz, one of the greatest shows ever!
ReplyDeleteDoctor Who and Friends!
ReplyDeleteVoted for Bones,Doctor Who,Oz and Friends(even though i prefer Angel much more i voted Friends for my brackets)...
ReplyDeleteMy votes went to Mad Men, Doctor Who, Stargate SG-1, and Friends.
ReplyDeleteA lot of iffy polls for me today!
ReplyDeleteI love Mad Men but doubt it will advance and voted for site favorite Bones.
Doctor Who over The most overrated The Mentalist please. Patrick Jane may be the most annoying and ridiculous TV character EVER... and yet so many adore him and the series.
I never watched Oz, but I've heard good things. SG-1 has a soft spot in my heart though.. I love Egyptology. After seeing the movie I was wow'ed and felt it could be the next great sci-fi movie series. Instead they went to TV and lasted for a decade... not bad!
Friends is another series that was unavoidable, but I really never cared for. Angel was spun off of one of my all-time favorite series BTVS... and good in its own right. In the end I went Friends for this poll despite my personal biases.
Easy choices for me today:
ReplyDelete- Mad Men, which is in my opinion already one of the all-time great drama shows and my favorite show ever.
- Doctor Who is fun, although I'm not exactly a huge fan.
- Oz was great, one of the overlooked early HBO shows.
- Never got into Buffy and Angel, so I'm going with Friends, which had its moments.
Mad Men, Doctor Who, Oz, Angel.
ReplyDeleteI voted for Friends, which is the only one of these I watched, and I liked it (except the last season) very much. I'm enjoying Buffy right now, so I probably will like Angel as well, and will watch it some day.
ReplyDeleteOnly voted for Stargate SG-1. Loved it and still do. Watching the whole series on hulu right now.
ReplyDelete1. Mad Men. I'm far from being a Mad Men fan (this show is slow, nothing happens) but the show is often quite good (not the masterpiece everyone's talking about though).
ReplyDelete2. Doctor Who. I went with my bracket here, I haven't seen the show yet but I'm planning to, besides I don't like The Mentalist and shows like that.
3. Oz, easiest choice today. I've seen the first 3 seasons so far and I love it. One of the best cast I've ever seen, a great writing, that's all it takes to make a powerful drama. Very good stuff.
4. Friends, although I'm sad Angel will probably lose. Angel has always been in Buffy's shadow, this show needs more recognition. The 5th season of Angel is simply amazing (Whedon has a thing with fifth seasons, season 5 of Buffy being my favourite of the show as well), and I'm not a shipper guy at all but the Wesley/Fred relationship was so great.
Bones, Doctor Who, SG-1 and Angel. I went with my bracket for this one and was surprised when Angel was being beaten by Friends. I really thought the sci-fi fans would bag that one but who knows, there's still time.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen much of any of these but Angel and Doctor who are on my list at the moment (I've only seen bits of them) and I want to watch SG-1 since meeting Corin Nemec on Saturday. =D
Bones, Dr. Who, Stargate SG1, and Angel
ReplyDeleteToday is a David Boreanaz day for me. If both his shows win, I will pick Angel over Bones simply because Bones dragged that will they-won't they thing out far too long. However, today I vote for both of them. I am surprised that Angel is not winning at this point. Especially since Buffy won yesterday.
ReplyDeletePretty much the same:
ReplyDeleteMad Men is such a great show and without it we would have never got Breaking Bad or the Walking Dead.
Never watched Doctor Who or The Mentalist, but due to the fact that I like Torchwood, Doctor Who gets my vote.
Without any question Oz gets my vote, it's one of my fav shows ever and is hugely under-appreciated. Also had some of the best characters on TV ever like Kareem Said or Miguel Alvarez and an incredible amount of talented actors. Even though I enjoyed the first few season of Stargate, but I kind of stopped watching around s6.
Never got all the hype around the whole Buffy universe even though I watched every now and then, but Friends definitely had its moments.
Unfortunately it won't stand a chance. I was surprised to see getting this far.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of Oz, there's some great stuff coming up for Said. Sadly you rarely see Eamonn Walkeron TV anymore. I was so happy when he was on Kings, which was an awesome show, but NBC pulled the plug way too early and unfortunately it wasn't saved by another network. And now 17th Precinct didn't get picked up :(
ReplyDeleteBones, The Mentalist, STARGATE SG1 and FRIENDS. Friends IS the best show on earth. The best show competition and Supernatural on the banner already. hummm...
ReplyDeleteBones, Friends, SG1, and The Mentalist.
ReplyDeleteSupernatural is on the banner as last year's champion.
ReplyDeleteBones, The mentalist, Stargate SG-1 and Friends!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteVoted Bones of course since I am obsessed with this show (on season 5 right now). I don't watch any of the other shows except Friends so had to vote for that. Planning to watch Angel once I finish season 3 of Buffy.
ReplyDeleteStargate SG-1 is a great show! Is atlantis nominated? And i also voted for Friends love that show to.
ReplyDeleteMy vote go to Mad Men (i not see yet), Friends, Stargate
ReplyDeleteThe Mentalist xD
ReplyDeleteNo, Atlantis didn't make the cut. Although I believe it got a few nominations, but not enough.
ReplyDeleteSuper easy and super hard...
ReplyDeleteFirst of all how is Doctor Who not winning - Whovians get your asses out of bed and vote please. But it was picking between Angel and Friends that was the hardest. Angel is Joss - and I love Joss. But Friends is my childhood... and I can still go back and watch it over and over again. I had to go Friends because it still makes me laugh - also still mad at Angel for the whole Doyle shenanigans (I'll never get over it cos I'm stubborn like that).
Excited to see how it all turns out tho - no sleep for me again.
I can't believe that Doctor Who is losing, its one of the best shows of all time. Don't get me wrong, I like The Mentalist, but the Doctor is the Doctor.
ReplyDeleteThis is correct... the top three shows from last years competition are the ones currently on the banner.
ReplyDeleteI know right - Whovian's need to get some serious voting happening.
ReplyDeleteI'm just going to have to force myself to get into Mad Men. I watched two episodes and let it go at that, because there's something about John Hamm I find unappealing, and because period dramas do nothing for me. But it sure is getting good word of mouth and awards. As for Oz, never heard of it until I came to this site. My kids love Dr. Who. I saw it and thought it interesting, but couldn't follow what was happening.
ReplyDeleteI wish there were more hours in a night to watch all the TV I should be watching!
Can't stand The Mentalist.
ReplyDeleteStargate brings back found family memories. It was one of the few series that my parents and I watched together. Glad to see it getting so much love. Now where's the Angel and Dr. Who love?
ReplyDeleteAlot of good shows today but none I'm very passionate about or watch regularly. The only show I'm a big fan of is friends, even though I did like the few episodes I've seen of angel.
ReplyDeleteI voted friends and with my bracket for everything else
Bones, Doctor Who, Stargate & Friends
ReplyDeleteBones, The Mentalist, Stargate SG-1 and Friends
ReplyDeleteBones and The Mentalist because I love them both.
ReplyDeleteThen Stargate cause it's what I put on my bracket and I've never seen either show.
And then Friends because even though I love Angel, Friends was the most amazing show.
Ugh, ditto about The Mentalist. I can't stand the lead either. He just irks me the wrong way.
ReplyDeleteBones, Mentalist (I don't get BBC America), Angel; the only hard decision I had to make was OZ over SG-1.
ReplyDeleteFriends by far exceeds Angel. Not that Angel is a bad show...it's just not Friends.
ReplyDeleteBones, Dr, Who, Stargate and Angel.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I love Friends, it wasn't a hard decision to choose Angel, it was an amazing show!
I voted for Mad Men, Doctor Who, StarGate, Angel, mostly since I had picked those shows for my bracket, since I don't watch/haven't watched most all of them (apart. Looks like I picked all the wrong choices, except for SG, didn't I? There goes my overall score.
ReplyDeleteThat Doctor who vs The Mentalist battle was close! Every time I checked back to see who was leading, they had switched places again. Looks like Mentalist will win now.
ReplyDeleteThe Whovians let me down.... sigh.
Voted for Bones because it's one of the few current shows I love watching.
ReplyDeleteDoctor Who because it's a classic (IMO) and The Mentalist bores me.
Oz because I've wanted to watch it for a really long time and just prefer this type of series to Stargate SG-1.
And for the toughest poll of them all, Angel. Friends was what I'd watch every weekend during my childhood, but I cringe whenever I watch it now. Angel had many intense moments and I still love it just as much as the first time I watched it.
Bones, Dr Who, Stargate, Friends
ReplyDeleteYou don't like what you don't like. And you can't watch every television show that's ever been called "great" so don't put that burden upon yourself unless you want to watch it...it IS just tv in one respect. :)
ReplyDelete(On the other hand... the episode titled "The Suitcase" might be the best episode of television I've seen in my entire life...)
OH NO, THEY HAVE UNCOVERED PART OF THE GRAND SCHEME OF THINGS!
ReplyDeleteADAM, YOU'VE BEEN FOUND OUT!
Whoa Friends was winning by heaps before and now Angel is?
ReplyDeleteI love Angel, I really do, but I think Friends is a lot better. It was an amazing show, I really thought it would be winning the whole time..
And my bracket is going to be seriously screwed up if Friends loses..
I'm confused.
ReplyDeleteBones only have 1 Emmy nomination while castle has 4 ?!
Friends appears to disappoint again in this competition for the second year running... My bracket is taking a battering atm!
ReplyDeleteWow, tha battle between Mentalist and Dr. Who is really, really close! 8 votes!
ReplyDeletemine too!! I don't get people... how is it possible? Friends is one of the best shows ever!! and Angel... >.<
ReplyDeleteAnd there my friends, goes my bracket. By a mere 10 votes and 34 votes I tumble from 2nd to 2nd to last page in the standings. Oh well. At least I had a brief minute of glory. :-)
ReplyDeleteHow could Oz not win?!
ReplyDeleteDahne, your bracket looks fine to me, I see you still in second position. A lot of people failed today, so your little loss amounts to nothing.
ReplyDeleteYeah, apparently my SpoilerTV prediction skills are still doing fine BUT my ability to read a bar graph is an utter failure. When I quick glanced it, I thought Angel had lost to Friends which would have screwed my bracket all the way to the final 8. So, I'm doing a whole lot better than I thought I was an hour ago.
ReplyDeleteHa! A lot of people will be asking the same question about a lot of shows before this contest ends. To answer, because this website caters to a whole lot of genre fans. Going up against sci fi or fantasy in this poll takes a lot of doing. I hope your other favorites fare better.
ReplyDeleteI guess it's having lived through the early '60s and finding those years boring. When they move into '68, then things will get groovy. I see that I can watch The Suitcase online and will take your advice :)
ReplyDeleteA little late I know, but votes went to Mad Men, Doctor Who, OZ, and Friends!
ReplyDeleteI honestly couldn't pick between The Mentalist and Doctor Who, and by the results I can tell that other people had the same problem. Both shows are just amazing!
ReplyDeleteAs an impartial observer viewing this 3 years after the fact, I can say without a doubt that this entire bracket and the ensuing results are the most atrocious thing to ever happen in TV history. You people wouldn't know good TV if it fell into your laps. At no point in the voting process did you make any correct choices. The entire internet is now dumber for containing this trainwreck. May God have mercy on your souls. Your DVRs will be confiscated, leave your TV Guide and remotes on my desk. You're hereby relieved of your duties. Good riddance.
