Hey Guys,

Apologies for the delayed posting but I've been travelling to the US for a two month trip and so I just haven't found the time to get out the next set of polls, but as a result I'm including four polls today to try and catch up for the time we lost.

In the previous days polls we saw wins for Fringe by a comfortable margin over Modern Family as well as Glee grinding out a great result and seeing off Grey's Anatomy in the process. Both of those shows will go against each other in the next round in a tough to call poll.

Today now sees four polls, the first of which has Prison Break squaring up against Veronica Mars and the second sees Gilmore Girls challenging ER for a place in round two. In the current show polls we have The Good Wife taking on Smallville and also Gossip Girl trying to face off against new hit show Game of Thrones. Lots of voting for you today!

The rules for, for anyone new to the competition is very simple. There will be new sets of shows against each other every day in a new set of polls... simply vote for your favourite and the show with the most votes will win that days poll and head into the next round.

Don't forget to spread the word, and tweet out the competition to friends as well as facebook liking the post...
Also if you are taking part in the prediction competition, don't forget to follow your scores HERE We already have no perfect brackets left in the competition, Round 1 so far has been ruthless!

All that's left to say, is good luck to every show...
... and let the battles begin!

  1. My votes go to:

Prison Break - Really enjoyed the first couple of seasons. Good concept, with some great characters!
ER - Love that show... A classic and enjoyed all 15 seasons!
The Good Wife - Very well written. Also like Julianna Margulies...
Game Of Thrones - Really loved the first season. Well written, acted, filmed. Quality...

  2. Haha Gossip Girl vs Game Of Thrones :D

  3. I went...
    Veronica Mars
    Gilmore Girls
    Smallville
    Game of Thrones

  4. I just hope GG does not BEAT Game of Thrones. My head hurts even considering that......

    ReplyDelete
  5. Considering the popularity of GoT and the decreasing popularity of GG, I'm betting GoT will rightly win :)

  6. I shake my head on three counts :P

  7. Haha, same here. Sorry Adam :P. I just love silly/quirky humour. And while I'm sure I would like Good Wife more than Smallville (and that the general quality of acting/drama is much higher), I have a soft spot for Smallville.

  8. Ha! Well I don;t vote for what I personally like necessarily....
I did prefer Veronica Mars over Prison Break though. PB was fun its first season, but after that it was just silly, predictable and mocking itself. Still fun, but not quality fun like Season One in my eyes.  Veronica Mars I can watch over and over again every year and enjoy it more each time.ER was a quality series, but medical dramas bore me and get old fast. I just don;t care for them or law dramas much. I didn't watch Gilmore Girls either though.Smallville was mostly a nod to the fanbase, but I did watch it off and on for the 10 years. I hear wonderful things about The Good Wife, but for a reason unknown to me I cannot watch anything with Julianna Margulies. She's a very good actress, but I need to leave the room whenever she is on... NO IDEA why....

I won;t tempt the Fates by commenting on GoT v. GG....

  9. westerosorg just retweeted it and I sent it to WiC as well, so, that should help :D.

  10. Loved Veronica Mars, loved Gilmore Girls (I'll get the DVDs for all seasons as a birthday gift this year *can't wait*), and I really enjoyed Smallville a lot, so those were easy choices.
I didn't vote for the last one. I do not like Gossip Girl (at all), but it seems unfair to just vote for Game of Thrones (which I haven't see - yet?) due to that.

  11. Four polls in one day.  Welcome to the day that breaks my bracket.  These were hard polls for me to choose.  Not hard for me to vote.  Once again, I'm voting with my heart against what my head predicted for the bracket.

  12. I'm hoping Gossip Girl sees a surge in votes.  I need it for my bracket to stay.  However, this was the single most difficult round for me to choose when I was making the bracket.  Game of Thrones is heavily promoted here but Gossip Girl has a lot of lurkers if I remember right.  Should be an interesting round.

  13. No one does snark like Veronica Mars. I want a VM movie dammit!

  14. In what crazy state of mind did I pick GG over GoT in my bracket? Oh right, I hadn't watched any episode of GoT then. But now I have and I know how *beep*ing good it is. Damn.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I picked Gossip Girl over Game of Thrones initially and changed it a day or two before the polls closed. GG is still popular here according to the stats...

So you may have made the right choice for the bracket.... and you may hear me quoting GOB Bluth (Arrested Development) "I've made a huge mistake".... EEK!

    ReplyDelete
  16. These  4 polls were some of the hardest for me to choose too.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Some tough choices tonight!So..

Veronica Mars - If we were choosing based on one season only,I would definitely vote Prison Break. They gave everything they had in season 1 and it was brilliant, but things went downhill from that point on.Plus, the dialogues in VM were priceless!

Gilmore Girls(and that was a tough one) - I liked ER as well,it will always be the best medical drama in my opinion, but around season 10,I kind of lost interest.Gilmore Girls on the other hand, was always fun and entertaining for me!

Smallville - To be honest,it's one of the shows that I usually caught up with during the summer, but I still liked it.Also,I've never watched the Good Wife.

I'm not gonna vote in the last poll, cause I haven't started Game Of Thrones yet(I will soon) and even though I've watched a couple of seasons of Gossip Girl and thought it was kind of fun,I'm pretty sure that if I vote for it and then watch GoT,I'll have the urge to hit myself!

  22. Welcome to the U.S., Adam! It's been raining a lot across the country and cool. Not typical.

E.R. and The Good Wife. Excellent and a great viewing pleasure for me. Guess I'm a Julianna fan. Hope they move on to the next round.

Never watched Smallville, Gossip Girl, or Gilmore Girls. I hear much good about Game of Thrones. I might watch on YouTube or DVD.

  23. I'm very happy, so far all the polls seem to be going according to my bracket. :)

  24. I think this round will say a lot about the contest as a whole.  It is the one to watch. Does a show with a lot of page hits during the year but I believe not as much conversation (GG) still have a lot of people on the site over the summer?  Game of Thrones has an advantage due to its heavy promotion here and most importantly, the fact that it just ended so people are still talking about it, a very vocal crowd also.  However, if the contest hits Tumblr and other CW social media strongholds, will a GG crowd surge to vote?  The dynamics of this contest fascinates me.

  25. Went for Veronica Mars,Gilmore Girls,Smallville and Game of Thrones.Actually,I was just voting against GG.The show was good a long time ago. Now,I don't think it should win any prizes, and GoT is a great show.

Common guys vote for Smallville! As a fan response to a great 10 season run we should give smallville the spoilertv award for best tv show! If u loved the finale or season 10 and didnt watch the rest well i assure u it was a great 10 season show and Smallville deserves to win! Do it for all of the stars who returned for season 10 especially Michael Rosenbaum! ANd most of all to Tom Welling and the season 10 cast i hope u win!

  27. ER, The Good Wife and Game of Thrones.

  28. Loved Veronica Mars, but since I haven't seen Prison Break (though I plan to) and since VM is currently winning, I didn't vote in that poll.

I haven't seen any of the other shows (apart from a few stray episodes of Smallville), and I don't really have much interest in seeing any of them either (though I do plan on reading A Song of Ice and Fire very soon).

    ReplyDelete
  29. My votes:
VERONICA MARS. Could've been the best tv show ever if it wasn't screwed up by the CW then cancelled.
GILMORE GIRLS. Funny, endearing, and some of the best fast-talk dialogue ever.
THE GOOD WIFE. I watched every single episode of Smallville, and it only took 1 season of The Good Wife to beat the hell out of Smallville.
GAME OF THRONES. Because Gossip Girl is... Gossip Girl. And Game of Thrones is AMAZING...

    My bracket:
    Veronica Mars
    Gilmore Girls
    Smallville
    Gossip Girl

    ReplyDelete
  30. If you're saying ANYTHING remotely negative about Veronica Mars, then you must have NO idea what you're talking about... Just FYI.

    ReplyDelete
  31. OMG I have the same problem. I watched GoT after my bracket. Big mistake.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Gilmore Girls (Dean and Rory of course), Smallville (loyal fan for over 7 years) and Gossip Girl (Chair fans know why).

    ReplyDelete
  33. And VM's strongest defender is at the ready.  I voted VM by the way.  I wouldn't want you after me.  :-P  (Plus, I genuinely liked the show.)

    ReplyDelete
  34. My bracket looks exactly the same.  I fear we will be disappointed at least once.

dont watch any of these shows so i simply voted my bracket
    veronica mars
    gilmore girls
    gossip girl
    smallville

  36. Gilmore Girls, Smallville, and Gossip Girl.

    ReplyDelete
  37. First Poll - Dont watch either, but voted Prison Break for my bracket.
Second Poll - Gilmore Girls, because I love it.
Third Poll - Dont watch either again, but voted Smallville for my bracket.
Fourth Poll - Used to like Gossip Girl but I dont watch it anymore, but I put it on my bracket and I've never watched GoT, so I voted for GG.

I think I'll be 2/4 for my bracket today.

    ReplyDelete
  38. My votes go to....Prison Break, ER, and Smallville!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Prison Break, ER, Smallville, Gossip Girl

    ReplyDelete
  40. You know it.
(The fact that she's going to be on my tv again on Showtime literally has made my year so far!)

    ReplyDelete
  41. We overestimated the Gossip Girl audience. I figured there were more of them around here... :/

    ReplyDelete
  42. Now if Jason Dohring could get a series... or even just act a little more. He's so fun in everything he does, but he does so few projects!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Ah, those fickle Mahattanites.  As long as Smallville beats GoT, I've still got a chance.  Otherwise I'm screwed until it loses to Fringe, and it will lose to Fringe. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  44. Is it me, or were these polls open for less time than the others? anyways, I was too late to vote. Would've voted for:
Gilmore Girls - amazing show with great characters (apart from Rory ;P)
The Good Wife - cause I hate Smallville and my sister loves the Good Wife, she says it's a really great show and I trust her with that ;)
Game of Thrones - I've just got hooked at it and it's amazing!!! Love Sean Bean!!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Your sister is right.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Gilmore Girls. 1 Emmy win.
ER. 23 Emmy wins and 101 Emmy nominations.

    Sigh.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Same here... I can't believe it... ER is my fave show!!!! :/
