  1. It was awesome, even though I have such a bad feeling about what's going to happen next!

  2. Awesome.  I love how they tweaked the Peter and Neal relationship.  In season 2 they seemed like brothers but now it's a cat and mouse game.  Can't wait to see how they resolve it since obviously Neal can't get locked up for the rest of his life but neither can he get the treasure and retire to his own island.

  3. One of my absolute favorite shows, so glad it's back.  Pretty good season premiere, I'm surprised taht the reveal of who stole the art was that quick, but I'm kind of glad that it was Mozzie and not some shadowy figure that it takes multiple seasons to track down.  I was kind of bit bummed taht there was no case/con of the week to solve, but I'm sure taht will return shortly.  Glad taht Peter and Neal are on speaking terms again, though it's from from over at this point. Neal conning Elizabeth was the hilight of the episode for me. I love that three versions of the painting exist- the original burned one, the "aged" piece that Neal swapped out, and the other one in his apartment to fool Peter.  Great start to the season, and very excited to see where it goes from here, especially with Neal and Peter's relationship.

I'm curious as to what Mozzie's plan would have been had they escaped with the art. Where would they go, and how would they leave everything behind?

  4. I enjoyed it. Although I'm a little weary of character resets, I'm willing to see where this one goes. I also liked the fact that they used Sara sparingly. They should continue to do that. I have no problems with the Neal/Sara relationship but on a show like this I kinda feel like romance should be a background type thing. Although one must wonder how much he can possibly care about her if he
was willing to leave forever without even considering saying goodbye. That was the one thing that bugged me. I get that he's a con man and always will be and that they're trying to return to that a bit, but the fact that he showed no regret whatsoever about his fractured relationship with Peter, not saying goodbye to Sara, lying to Elizabeth, etc., seemed out of character to me. I would totally expect him to fly the coop once he gets a score that big, that part is totally believable, but he was never heartless and this episode made him seem that way a bit. The only glimpses were his wanting to say goodbye to June and of course *SPOILER* the end where he decided to give up his plan to flee in favor of saving Jones' life.

  5. Sarah only had one brief scene and I'm fine with that. Gives the whiners less to complain about. But damn, she looked pretty hot. Hilarie Burton has always had a very pretty smile.

  6. I'm so excited about this Season. The episode was brilliant. The change in dynamic between Neil and Peter is interesting. Can't wait to see how it plays out.

  7. So what did you think about the plot of the episode?

  8. Not a whole lot actually happened. Besides the whole thing with Peter not trusting Neal, which Neal REALLY should be more insulted about by the way, I didn't find the new case all that interesting.

  9. hmmmmm I liked the episode, I think it was pretty awesome, but I don't know if I like how things are going... :S I loved the relationship between Peter and Neal as it was in season 2... but, hey, let's give it a chance!! :)

  10. Why should Neal be insulted? It turns out that Peter CAN'T trust Neal. I'm sure Neal would be the first to admit that.

  11. Loved every second of it! I think the guys look great, but I can understand Peter's hesitation with Neal (even at the end of last night's episode) in trusting him or not. Yes, it will be interesting to see how this plays out this season, but it should be another great one and I am so glad that the show is back for the summer! It is something to look forward to for a good while because I think it is going to be a long summer for me...

  12. Peter accused Neal immediately. He really didn't steal the paintings. Even if he had gone to Peter immediately after finding them, do you think he would have believed Neal had no part in it?

If I was in Neal's position, I would be doing the same thing as well. Treat a friend like a criminal, and surprise surprise, they'll act like one. He's done more than enough to earn Peter's trust. I don't know about you, but if a friend of mine immediately jumped to the conclusion that I'm the one to blame for a crime, then I wouldn't consider him much of a friend.

  13. I'm like 99.9% positive that even had Peter not accused Neal of anything, he still would've decided to try and take the loot and run with Mozzie. He didn't even hesitate when Mozzie presented this plan to him. That kind of proves that Neal can't be trusted, at least in so far as his old life of robbery and fleeing the law goes. Obviously, if he has to choose between letting somebody come to harm and his loot he will do the right thing, and that's great, there's a good man in there somewhere, whether Neal likes it or not. But still, Peter is quite justified in not trusting Neal to keep chasing after the next big score. Plus, it's not like he just woke up one morning and thought to himself, "I bet Neal is still a thief and is planning on stealing billions of dollars of art from a German U boat". He had actual physical evidence in the form of the painting. Granted, it was Mozzie who placed the painting in the warehouse, but any reasonable person would suspect Neal faced with that evidence, given Neal's criminal history.

  14. The show is my favorite of all time, and I was so pumped, but that sucked in my opinion. Im sorry, but really? The show ends if Neal and Peter arent the center, neal cant go back to jail for good  for that reason so suspense is significantly lowered. And for Pete's sake, we get it, the trust is a major problem between the two of them, the whole show is based off of that relationship, do we need a season completely revolving around that?  I absolutely see Neal wanting to leave with a score that big, that is him, I get it[I likey, Bad boy he is ;D], but WOW could they make him seem any more out of character and heartless? I almost stopped watching, he would have said something to SOMEONE, he even did when he was going to leave with Kate, did he REGRESS from there?!? Mozzie influenced him but great googly moogly, he clearly knows how to go against influences.  Character resets seem like a biggie in this show, regressing them, okay fine, I love the show, you make it work, but a lot off people I spoke to agreed in saying WTF throughout the whole episode - aka it didnt work for me in this one.

  15. Good episode, both happy and sad they revealed Mozzie was behind the art heist and U-boat explosion. I like his plan for Neal and himself to run off into the sunset with their white elephant score, but I was hoping whoever was the mastermind would not be putting Neal and Peter against one another.

I prefer Neal to be with Peter in spirit but also working on his own thing... not working directly to get out of the deal with the Peter and the FBI. Of course, they already are setting up Neal to have second thoughts and not run off with Mozzie.

All in all I think the Neal planning a getaway and Peter expecting it could make for a for season long subplot. Have to see how  they deal with it before I decide on it I guess.

Not an awesome episode but very good for me.

  16. I loved the season 3 premiere.
The story is set out and I am curious who is worth more in the end to Neal, the last great con or his friendship to Peter? Well I am betting on the later one, but it would also be interesting to see how they plan their getaway since Mozzie is one mindblowing genius!!!!
I would never have thought that he is behind the treasure dissapearance (or in Neal's case - appearance).
The con of the week was relatively uninportant to me besides the efforts Neal and Mozzie put into making the painting evidence against Neal believable.
I am looking forward to next weeks episode.

  17. You're basing your opinion on what might have happened, I'm basing it on what did.

You're confusing the timeline a little bit. By the time Peter accused Neal of stealing the art, it was already blown up/stolen. Neal never had the chance to steal it in the first place. And as I remember, the cops were closing right at that moment.

I seriously doubt that, in the time allotted, Neal could have taken anything.

And I would have accepted Mozzie's plan as well. On one hand Neal could be honest with Peter, who already doesn't trust him, and probably go to jail. On the other hand he can possibly get away with the stolen loot and live a life away from the crime.

And I don't know what you remember, but Neal was dragging his feet the entire episode. He may have been going a long with the idea, but he definitely wasn't too happy about it.

  18. No I'm quite clear on the timeline. I realize fully that he had nothing to do with stealing the art beforehand. I'm merely saying that based on my observation of how quickly he agreed to Mozzie's plan to flee, that he is in fact, still untrustworthy. His plan to take the loot, even though Mozzie was the one who stole it, is still a crime. Peter's job is to enforce the law. That makes him untrustworthy from Peter's pov. Also, I don't think that had Neal gone straight to Peter and showed him the card and the warehouse full of stuff, that Peter would have automatically arrested him. Obviously turning over the loot would be a pretty good faith act, and Peter is a very reasonable person, at least he always has been.

And no, I must admit I didn't observe Neal dragging his feet or appearing in any way reluctant to go along with Mozzie's plan. In fact the opposite. He was so eager to go along with it that he never even spared a thought for disappointing Peter who is his friend or abandoning his lover, Sara. If you can point out specific instances where he seemed reluctant, I'd love to hear them.

I may be basing my opinion on what might have happened instead of what
did, but it's also based on the characterization of the characters over
the course of the last two seasons. That's why character resets are so
frustrating. To me it's just a lazy way for writers to force some new
plot into the show without having to make it work within the frame of
the actual character's motivations. Like I said, I'm willing to give this one a chance because there is a way to make it interesting without completely derailing the character, but so far, it's kind of dicey. We might just have to agree to disagree. :)
