The Good Wife - Lisa Edelstein Joins Cast

House‘s departing taskmistress has booked a juicy multi-episode arc on CBS’ The Good Wife, sources confirm to TVLine exclusively.

The actress — who sent House fans into a tailspin last month when it was announced that she would not be returning to the Fox hit after failing to come to terms on a new contract — will play a lawyer and born poker player whose sexiness is enhanced by her obvious intelligence.

Additional details are scarce, but rumor has it Edelstein’s character — who turns up during the early part of the acclaimed drama’s forthcoming third season — shares a past with Will (Josh Charles). It’s unclear if said past is professional, personal or both, but I smell a showdown between her and Alicia (Julianna Margulies).

    Lisa Edelstein guest starred on Sports Night as a former love interest of Dan Rydell (played by Josh Charles) that hates him.  I feel like my tv watching has come full circle.

    I like this so much, she was totally underused on House so this can only be a good thing, possible chance of making this a series regular role? I have decided for CBS, yes there is.

    Great for The Good Wife, Great for Lisa Edelstein (I never was a Huddy shipper but once I was onboard, i felt really, really cheated for the way they went for half the season when House and Cuddy'd broken up. I even stopped watching the show because it's just a shadow of what it used to be.) 
    I hope that things go well and she can be returning. Of course I also want America Ferrara back, so... hm...
