    To me, this season just isn't as fun so far.  The show was more entertaining to watch last season when the cases were quirkier and Jim was enjoying himself on the job more.

    I completely agree. This show was one of my favorite new series last year, but is quickly moving to my "DVR it and forget about it" list.

    The snarky attitude and wit from Jim just is NOT there this season and it seems to be more of  straight ahead procedural right down to the love triangle and romantic interests all around.

    The snarky attitude is there but the context is different.  Last season, the wit and attitude was just Jim having fun working weird little backwoods cases and messing with the local yokels.  He moved from Chicago to a cushy job working easy cases.

    This season all the snark and attitude seemingly comes from personal and professional frustration.  His cushy job and easy life have all been messed up and now all of Jim's snark makes him seem like a dick instead of just a goofy wize-ass.
