finally Fringe gets some recognition!!!! YAY for Anna Torv and John Noble !
ReplyDeletegreat news for fringe
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see TV shows usually snobbed in big awards shows nominated here at the BTJA !
ReplyDeleteI'm talking about Fringe, Justified, Southland, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Archer, Community and Parks and Recreation. Louie and Raising Hope are new shows but I wouldn't be surprised if they were on the snobbed shows list too.
It's nice to see actors like John Noble, Walton Goggins, Nick Offerman, Joel McHale, Charlie Day and Danny Pudi nominated for some awards, Emmys are too uptight to even think about nominating actors in shows like this, they prefer to suck up to Glee (by the way, the host of the Emmys this year will be Jane Lynch). It's a shame that Charlie Hunnam, Garret Dillahunt, Alison Brie aren't nominated, and that Sons of Anarchy or In Treatment aren't nominated for best drama series.
And how come neither Craig Ferguson nor Conan O'Brien are nominated for best talk show host ? That doesn't make any sense. But given all the other good choices the BTJA made, I don't mind.
My picks :
Best drama series : Game of Thrones.
Best actor in a drama series : William H. Macy (Shameless).
Best actress in a drama series : Connie Britton (Friday Night Lights).
Best supporting actor in a drama series : Walton Goggins (Justified).
Best supporting actress in a drama series : Michelle Forbes (The Killing).
Best comedy series : Parks and Recreation.
Best actor in a comedy series : Charlie Day (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia).
Best actress in a comedy series : Martha Plimpton (Raising Hope).
Best supporting actor in a comedy series : Danny Pudi (Community).
Best supporting actress in a comedy series : Julie Bowen (Modern Family).
My hopes:
ReplyDeleteBest drama series, The Good Wife or Fringe
Best actress: Juliana Margulies or Anna Torv
Best supporting actor: John Noble or Alan Cumming
Best supporting actress: Michelle Forbes or Archie Punjabi
Best comedy: Parks and Recreation or Community
Best actor in comedy: Joel McHale
Best actress in comedy: Amy Poehler or Martha Plimpton
Best supporting actor in comedy: Nick Offerman
I love all the acotors in the Best Actor Drama category, but it pains me not to see Sean Bean among the nominations! Not sure who I would remove to add him either.
ReplyDeleteLove that The Killing got some nom-love and Justified racked up nominations! Go Walter Coggins!
Best drama series : Game of Thrones- I'd be happy with any of GoT, BE, FNL, TWD,Fringe or Justified winning.
ReplyDeleteBest actor in a drama series : Steve Buscemi (Boardwalk Empire) - I'd love Olyphant to win though
Best actress in a drama series : Katey Segal (SoA)).
Best supporting actor in a drama series : Walton Goggins (Justified).
Best supporting actress in a drama series : Michelle Forbes (The Killing).
Best comedy series : The Big Bang Theory.
Best actor in a comedy series : Jim Parsons (TBBT).
Best actress in a comedy series : Edie Falco (Nurse Jackie).
Best supporting actor in a comedy series : Neil Patrick Harris (HIMYM).).
Best supporting actress in a comedy series : Jane Lynch (Glee).
Nice choices... Only thing that confuses me a bit that Sunny wasn't nominated in the best comedy category, season 6 was amazing. But usually the FX comedy shows don't get a lot of love from award shows even though they are brilliant, so that's pretty great.
ReplyDeleteMy choices:
Best drama series: Game of Thrones
Best actor in a drama series: Jon Hamm
Best actress in a drama series: Katey Sagal
Best supporting actor in a drama series: John Slattery
Best supporting actress in a drama series: Michelle Forbes
Best comedy series: Louie
Best actor in a comedy series: Charlie Day
Best actress in a comedy series: Amy Poehler
Best supporting actor in a comedy series: Danny Pudi (hardest decision, Nick Offerman was amazing this year)
Best supporting actress in a comedy series: Busy Philipps
Exactly. I breathe a sigh of relief. If they weren't nominated, I would have denounced my association with planet Earth. Honestly.
ReplyDeleteI'm really pleased with all of the Fringe, Cougar Town, and Community love. On the other hand, where be the nominations for actors from GoT :(?
ReplyDeleteI'm actually very surprised that Shameless hasn't got more nominations. It is outstanding in every respect! I love William H. Macy's delivery of Frank, but I also love everyone else's! Shameless rocks!
ReplyDeleteOh my God, these nominations are practically PERFECT.
ReplyDeleteEmmys! TAKE NOTE! THIS is how you do nominations!
I 100% approve of this post.
ReplyDeleteFringe!! Anna Torv!! John Noble!!
ReplyDeleteNo love for Rubicon? I know it got cancelled, but come on!
ReplyDeleteOtherwise i really love these noms and hope the emmys look somewhat similar.
Seeing Fringe, Anna Torv, and John Noble being nominated just made my day.
ReplyDeleteMy chices:

ReplyDeleteeven if he isn't he's going to win that category with ease
Want to put this out somewhere, so if I could I will post it here.
ReplyDeleteFringe just won Best TV show and Anna Torv Best Actress in Italy!
Ya know I chose Katey Sagal, but Margo Maritndale was PHENOMENAL this year on Justified!
