Hello again everyone! Sorry for the large gap in Questions of the Day, what with Work, Vacation and real life I had to take a break.

But we're back with a new series of Questions of the Day.

Today's Question comes from Bruce_F who asks.

"What was this year's best season finale?"

Now that the networks have aired all of their big finales for the 2010/2011 season, what do you think was the best of the bunch? Let's hear from you in the comments section below. Are there any finales that you found to be disappointing or underwhelming? Feel free to mention that as well."

Great question Bruce. For me it had to be Fringe, I simply loved the Finale and it's left us with much to ponder on during the Summer as well as creating a lot of excitement for the shows return.

The finale that disappointed me the most was Smallville, I'd simply expected a bit more for a show in it's 10th and final season to deliver a little more than it did.

    I have a few favorite finales

    HIMYM - We find out the groom is Barney and Lily's pregnant!
    Supernatural - It was just awesome and I loved it. The twist with Cas was amazing.
    Bones - Baby Hodgins is born, Booth/Brennan are finally in a relationship, and she's pregnant!
    Castle - It was just amazing. I loved the twist with Montgomery, and then the end was surprising, but so good.
    Mike and Molly - They got engaged!
    Cougar Town - They were in Hawaii. Abed appeared! Some Laurie/Travis happened!
    Hawaii Five-0 - Despite my anger at the Rachel storyline, it was still a really good finale. I couldn't believe they cliffhangered the show like that!

    And that's pretty much it.

    Definitely "The Mentalist"s season finale; it was a very well-written one and at the same time the best episode so far.. "Fringe"s was very good, as well. The worst was "House MD"s season finale IMO...

    Justified was the best finale overall. Among broadcasters, the best one was IMO Hawaii Five'O, but I haven't seen the finale of TGW yet though.

    i haven't seen all the finales i intend to yet, but i doubt any of the ones that i've still got to watch could possibly be better than fringe finale... mindblowing.

    I loved loads of finales... Namely NCIS, NCISLA, Supernatural (OMG), Blue Bloods and Hawaii Five-0.

    I have to say that I was a bit disappointed with the Criminal Minds finale. I was expecting more of a cliffhanger. Maybe if I didn't know JJ was coming back it would have been? Although, I'm excited to see how she's changed and why she's coming back :D

    FRINGE!!!!! totally fringe there is no show right now that compares to what Fringe has become over the three seasons awsome stories, great writting, and amazing, amazing actors all of them,  and the seson finally was just mind blowing and the best of this tv season.
    worst for me it was House and also smallville a little, i mean i enjoyed the episode but i wanted to see more superman i mean all we saw was Clark in his uniform from far far away i wanted a close look at him wearing it but we didn´t get that.

    I really liked the Nikita finale. And the TVD one. I also loved Fringe's but that was mostly for the ending and there was a bit too much build-up imo. I also liked Chuck's except for the ending.

    My favorite was Castle followed closely by Bones...My least favorite was House.
    I also liked the finale of TVD,The Good Wife and The Mentalist, while the finales of  Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice and Fringe(had it not been for the last 30 seconds of the episode), seemed a little underwhelming...

    Justified was the best for me.

    Blue Bloods and Sons of Anarchy were really good as was Boardwalk Empire. Fringe's was ok, but the way the connected 3 episodes played out over 3 weeks felt incomplete until the final night. I would have rated it higher is I watched a 3-hour finale, but over 3 weeks it was lacking.

    My guess is in a few weeks my answer will change when Game of Thrones and The Killing end. Both series have raised the bar for quality TV and I expect a stellar finale from Game of Thrones in particular!

    Threeway tie for worst between Smallville, Supernatural and Being Human (UK).

    although, admitedly, i didn't watch many season finales (only 3), supernatural was definately the best one i saw
    second best would be community, that 2 part finale was awesome and very very funny
    last would be vampire diaries. it was an epic season finale but i personally thought the second last episode was much better
    so, yeah, best season finale i would have to go with supernatural, no contest

    I want to say Smallville. I really do. But it really didn't compare to others, and it was their FINALE.
    Season 10 started so good, and ended ok.
    I loved Supernatural's season finale, but I would have to say Chuck's finale. Second place is Vampire Diaries.

    I loved Fringe Finale. So many possibilities now to go into Season 4. 
    I'm glad it was "only" the season finale and not series finale. 
    And the thing I didn't like about it is that I have to wait now until September to find out what's going on. I thought last summer was long but this year it's going to be harder because I really love Fringe. At least I have the DVDs and I taped S 3 so I can watch it over and over until the S 3 DVDs come out. 
    Don't forget, re-runs Saturday nights.

    I can't really decide which one of my favourite shows had the best finale, because every one of them was breathtaking and mindblowing. Bones with finally having something real, after 6 years? Vampire Diaries and finally real Damon/Elena kiss? Cas screwing up and becoming a new "god"? Or Fringe and Peter's non-existence?
    DUUUH I can't decide!

    Fringe by far the best, also like bones, the worst-HIMYM or house were pretty bad but the worst was the mentalist-killing off the Red John storyline-terrible idea

    Nikita.  With all the uncertainty that was surrounding if the show was being renewed or not, they put out a great finale that would have been a satisfying series finale.  Since it was renewed, it was a more than fulfilling season finale.  Nikita lives, they have a black box, Alex is finally shown to be a selfish nitwit, and Amanda is probably head of Division now.  It makes me look forward to season 2 of the show.

    I know Sanctuary will end in a couple of weeks and theirs are usually always good because instead of doing a couple of little cliffhangers, they do one huge one and while frustrating, they are usually awesome.

    Best ever was season 2 of 24.  Loved it.

    My favorite was most definitely Fringe.  It kept me thinking and on the edge of my seat the whole time.  The mentalist finale was a close second.

    The Bones season finale was kind of disappointing.  I mean the revelation was very "whoa" (still not sure how I feel about that, btw) but it was wrapped up in a very mediocre episode.

    This is such a big question. I can't come out with a definitive answer. Supernatural, Castle and Fringe blew me away. and I loved the Bones finale as well. I can't say it "blew me away." but it was still great.

    The Vampire Diaries was my favorite. I loved the Damon/Elena kiss! So happy they finally got together! Also really like the whole Stefan turning into a ripper again & Jeremy seeing ghosts storyline.Such an amazing finale!! I really liked the Chuck and Supernatural finales as well!

    Out of all the ones I saw, for me it was Community, hands down. I enjoyed it more than Supernatural's, No Ordinary Family's, Cougar Town's, and Modern Family's finales, WAY more than Fringe's finale, and even slightly more than Parks & Rec's, Castle's, and Chuck's finales.

    I think those are all of the shows I followed to the end this season...

    None of the finales stood out as much as The Mentalist. It was an amazing two-hour event that revealed a lot while keeping the suspense at a high. As good as Supernatural and Fringe were (IMO, they produced the two best seasons of the year, followed by Castle at a close third), The Mentalist does know how to do a finale. Unlike Supernatural that seemed to miss something and Fringe that went quite a bit off topic for a finale, The Mentalist kept us on track and thoroughly entertained. It wins for me.

    This year was the worst finales for all of my favorite shows especially House (just bad writing lately maybe it has jumped) but I really appreciated Chuck- its about time that the hero can be happy!
    The Mentalist"s season finale was a surprise because it is actually only the second time I have watched the show. I liked it so much that I got hooked and have been doing a Mentalist Memorial Day Marathon-now I am almost caught up and can't wait for next season!

    Fringe - Another game-changer, fantastic!

    Justified - All the Bennet`s gone, besides Dickie. Wow, i just felt this season was even greater than the first one. No real cliffhanger, witch is good for a show that only airs for 12-13 weeks of the year.

    The Mentalist - Bradley Whitford small but important role in the season-ender just was spot on. And also i felt Simon Baker did a good job in the episode.

    Shameless US - Karen`s dad killing himself with an iceblock, bye-for-now Steve and the other stuff. Great!

    Californication - Ohh that was the best feelgood-ending of a show that went very drama all of a sudden)

    Community - More balls, more paintballs with cameo`s from Cougar Town. Awsome bro.

    Parks And Recration - Ron Swanson, April Ludgate and Tom Haverford. What awsome characters that did good in the season ending. And we all love Lil` Sebastien <3

    Supernatural - MegaloCas was a great way to change the game up.  Loved it!  I'm excited about season 7 when he Winchesters and Bobby will have to rely on their own wits to get them out of trouble instead of just calling for an angel to do it.

    Loved the Supernatural finale.
    The whole concept of the angel friend/brother turned power-crazed-dictator-would-be god just excites the hell out of me. Which is good because I was getting tired of Cas forever popping in and fixing things. 
    This way we're left with Cas all roided up on purgatory souls, Raphael exploded into chunky gore, Crowley on the loose, and poor Sam's wall obliterated by none other than Cas himself. 
    Oh and once again my Impala has been trashed. Bloody demons!
    A great end to an over all fantastic season.

    I go around telling people that TV is better these last few years than it's ever been. I don't get any agreement, but it's my story and I'm sticking to it. Mia494, I watched 10 shows regularly this year and 3 others on DVD.

    The lack of Lost and 24 worried me initially for this season of TV, but shows like Fringe, Supernatural, Community, The Office, Psych, etc have really stepped it up for whatever reason.  So I agree with you linlighthouse, TV has been awesome these past few years and hopefully will continue to be!

    Justified was the best overall. For those of you, who are still not watching - this show is brilliant and has the best actors, you should check it out.

    Loved the Supernatural finale. Great acting, great twists. Can't wait for next season.
    I loved the Nikita finale for the most part, although Alex's actions were a bit ooc.
    Bones had me whooping like an idiot. What a great way to get them together while shortcutting all the dating stage that could have been awkward. Looking forward to next year.
    House - hmmmmm! I know House is a one-off, and normal rules of behaviour don't apply but even for him that was going too far.
    Loved the Hawaii 50 finale. Not sure how they can get out of the situation they are in - but I guess that is why it is called a cliff hangar. This show has really grown on me. It started out pretty ordinary, but it really began to click in the last third of the season.
