    My response which is also posted on the forum:

     would agree to disagree! -It's not that I don't think that show is specifically about this, but more over life is about the perception of those beliefs (free will verses fate/control) and so I think it is some what about these things since it's our beliefs which in able us to create, destroy, and preserve life...In addition even though I don't think the Observers are angels in the literal sense, I do think there are parallels to their purpose in relation to mythological purpose of what is ever has written about Angels, at the same time I also see Androids, Cylons, and Vulcans, but it's the motivation of us all in which parallels any sort of reference to anything God related or not.

    But I think it was wrong of them to deny the concept of science verses Religion, since they have gone out of their way to have Walter be the one to really grapple with the idea. (his own justification lies within his beliefs) On another note, I have always felt that these shows aren't about "Verses", but about the belief in both things together, hand in hand, a more anthropological approach. The good news might be that this clarity might then be a good sign that the show might not end in "death", but more clearly in survival in the physical material world, giving us a different ending than say, Lost, as fans have to decide for themselves if they believe in rebirth and other timelines reflected with in the FS...
