  5. I'd love to see it in it's original language, i am bilingual and travel between Toronto & paris a lot, but i rather watch it in original language...

Bravo to Canal+ and Showcase, who are kind of the french and candian hbo... when it comes to tv series... but endgame hmmm not so much!

  7. I'm confident Canal+ will offer to watch XIII either in french or english, thanks the multilingual option.

There are french release groups which released previous Canal+ original series did it a few hours after the airing, I'm sure they'll take care of XIII as well. Sometimes there was no HD versions but SD versions were like 550 or 700 MO, so it looks great anyway. I'm just hoping they will release it both in english and french.

The whole season will last a little bit more than a month on Canal+ (5 x 2 episodes on April 18th, 25th, May 2rd, 9th and 16th + episodes 11, 12 & 13 on May 23rd) whereas the airing will take longer on Showcase (one episode a week starting April 20th I think).

I don't have a subscription to Canal+ and I want to watch the show in english too so I hope the usual Canal+ release group(s) will do things right and offer english versions as well.

WeGroove is right, it's fair to say Canal+ is the french HBO (even though, ironically, 90% of Showtime series air on Canal+ while HBO TV Shows are owned by another pay-cable channel, except The Pacific and Big Love which did air on Canal+). Like HBO, this started as a movie-based pay-cable channel but over the years they started to develop original series, and now everyone concurs to say Canal+ produces the best french series (like HBO with US TV shows), mostly because it's the only pay-cable channel to do so.

Speaking of Showtime, it's funny because Canal+ will soon have its own version of The Borgias, a 12 episode miniseries written by Tom Fontana with John Doman as Rodrigo Borgia ! Tom Fontana (Oz) > Michael Hirst (The Tudors) if you ask me, and John Doman is great (so is Jeremy Irons of course). The development of this project was announced at the same time as Showtime's Borgias. It will be fun to watch those 2 different versions, here is an interview of Tom Fontana.

  8. By the way i don't agree with Aisha being type casted in any type of role is something i humbly any actor should avoid, playing the smart geek hot girl is not even so difficult, because she is hot and a geek. A role of smart woman can be badly written and one dimensional, while the role of a psycho killer could be more challenging. Aisha is great, but i think she is kind of limited as an actress...

  9. the comparison between canal+ and hbo is not in terms of scheule and programming it is more about the kind of original programming (mini-series, series, films) they generaly produce or co-produce, more edgy, more creative than other networks!
