Supernatural - Episode 6.15 - The French Mistake - Favorite Scene Poll

2 Apr 2011

OK, say it with me: "Only 14 days until the end of the mini-hiatus!" Everyone excited now? Tonight's previously run episode (read repeat) was The French Mistake, and after the downers of Unforgiven and Mannequin 3, we got some humor at last. Just for the record, I find this episode growing on me. Being a non-fan of meta episodes, I originally thought that I liked it because I had such low expectations. After seeing it tonight, I think it's simply a funny episode and well-done.

Since we have so many choices in this round for favorite scene, let's each pick our top 2. I'm torn. The bad acting scene makes me howl every time, Kripke's death was epic with the music to match, and the brothers' reaction to first seeing "Ruby" is priceless. Still, I'll have trouble deciding because Real-Misha tweeting while Fake-Misha tweeted may be my absolute favorite demolishing of the 4th wall ever. Can we call it the 5th wall, it's so awesome? Have fun voting and don't forget to comment below. Also, help me out by commenting on your favorite line too. I think we need a follow-up poll for this one.

Results from Mannequin 3 favorite scene poll:

The Impala attacks had 76 votes, 25%
Sam waking up from hell memory was second with 24% (69 votes)
The brothers talking at the end received 51 votes
My favorite "Ben lets dean have it" came in fourth

  1. Too many good moments in that episode!

    I just wish the news episodes would come sooner to cheer me up :( I'm still feeling sooooo sad about losing my french buddy from Quebec last month ;-; Come on Spn back! I need to laugh a bit ;-;

  2. I've decided on Misha tweeting and the brothers seeing Fake-Gen the first time. I know that the bad acting scene is going to be the favorite, but these two scenes were a tad better to me. Mostly because real Misha Collins is awesome and I loved the brothers' reaction to finding out Jared married Gen. I think some fans had the same reaction. :-P

  3. Sorry to hear about your loss. It's hard to lose a friend.

  4. First off - Ben telling Dean off came in 4th? I'm shattered.

  5. All I need is for news episodse to come back :( I'm still ssoooooooooo sad about losing my great french fan from Quebec last month and need Spn to cheer me up a bit ;-; ;-;

  6. I know. That was the heart of the episode to me. But too many don't like the Lisa/Ben story line I guess.

  8. Dean's prayer to Castiel was a high point for me:
Dear Castiel who art maybe running his ass away from heaven we pray that you have your ears on - breaker, breaker

  9. I love Deans sick reaction to the many impalas...Jensen is so good at gaging am's appearing ill. The acting scene was so painfully bad I LMAOROTF and tears rolled down my face. My favorite lines are: "Oh crap I'm a painted whore"and "I'm something called a Jared Padalecki, so... What now you're polish (sp?)" am's a crap load of other "Dean" snarky one liners especially those about my beloved country and our favorite national sport...lol

so many amazing, hysterical scenes, i found it very hard to choose a second coz there were so many great options
ended up going with the bad acting scene because that had me on the floor in tears laughing like a mad woman
and then i debated for a while b/w misha gets killed, first meeting fake-gen and the alpacas and first meeting misha but in the end went for misha dying because him crying was just hilarious
    god i loved this episode!!!

generally i liked lisa and ben and their little mini storyline. just notin that episode
i found it boring and an annoying interruption
i dunno, i liked where the raltionship was going at the start but i don't like where it ended up and how it got there

  12. I cant chose. This was just perfection! I did enjoy the scenes with misha a little more I guess ahaha. The one when they try to act and the one where misha thinks they are running lines is HILARIOUS!

  13. And: 'We need to get all 3 of that crap' - just the way he says it....

    ReplyDelete
  14. I like the Lisa/Ben/Dean story line.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Dean: 'Well, now that I know there's an alpaca out back, I'm definitely coming back.'

  16. My favorite part didn't even come into count... Alcoholism and violence am's of course drugs

    ReplyDelete
  17. Dean: 'Come on. Look at these male modelling sons of bitches. Nice "blue steel" Sam.'

    ReplyDelete
  18. I think I have to go with the crowd on this - the bad acting scene was just so hilarious.
And it proves once and for all just how great Jared and Jensen are. Few people could've pulled that off - it's well known that acting like you can't act is very difficult and they NAILED IT folks.
Big fat raspberry at those who say their acting is mediocre.

  19. I'm thinking Cas/Misha is annoying me today. And that's odd, cuz I've been writing fanfic about him half the day... Go figure

Now that i watch the episode again i think its really stupid that they left off Geneivives last scene being that shes crying about Misha being killed....they could have ended it with her better

  21. No one is perfect :( If you knew my friend's background you would understand why she's a bit too protective of me.....but when I gave her the job to take care of my account and the access...I clearly told her that she could send the exclusive J&J video to anyone..and the rest, limited to some people ...:(...she did a mistake on her very first week....she told me she tried to appologie for her mistake and was block without warning :(

And after she wanted to know ''Why are you still talking to that person on twitter??'' What was I suppose to do? ;-; ;-; Couldn't tell my friend to go to hell (she really really have a dark background and she was trying to do her best, not her fault :( )

  22. Sera Gamble was really the voice of Sera on the episode. It wasn't a fake Sera. She talked about it at Paley, and so did Kripke. It was mentioned several times in interviews. That was Sera.

    ReplyDelete
  23. There is no drug addiction. The boys can not go to hospitals and doctors like most people can. They have ways of tending to themselves. Of course they'd have pain pills. Sam said he was hurting and Dean did what any hunter would do...he offered something for pain. It's never said what that something was. They all share medications to help with injuries. There is no drug addictions. Does Dean have a drinking problem? Possibly. He uses it to hide the pain. He's said as much in Sam Interrupted. But no drugs.

  24. I think Cas has been annoying a lot of people all season, what with his ignoring the brothers and constantly hinting about the heaven civil war but never providing any answers. He's certainly a lot shadier this season than last.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I know, but I don't think Real Sera would have said the things she said in the episode. Perhaps it would have been better to call her Script Sera so no one's confused. It's obvious that she was playing a part just like Fake-Misha was.

  26. And:
Dean: 'Well, looks like you did all right.'
Sam: 'Yeah. Yeah, I should figure out her name.'

    And:
Dean:'All right. Couch. TV star. Beauty rest.'

Sorry everyone, but there's just so much awesomeness..........

    ReplyDelete
  27. "Yeah. Yeah, I should figure out her name." That might have been the biggest laugh I had in the entire episode. Definitely going in the best line poll. Thanks! These are all good choices.

  28. It's almost like I want to say shit or get off the pot. Let them on on what's going on with you or just shut the heck up about it. Boo hoo there is a war on in heaven, the guys have been at war for years and you don't hear them whine on about how hard it is... Well according to Dahne I guess they do...lol

    ReplyDelete
  29. Just my sick and deeply perverted sense of humour, being darkly disturbed and all...

    ReplyDelete
  30. ONLY 2? I absolutelly can not narrow it down that much...

    ReplyDelete
  31. Oh damn, this was a hard one to narrow down! Eventually narrowed it down to Fake-Misha tweeting a lot, because seriously, what Dahne said is true: Real-Misha tweeting as Fake-Misha was tweeting was the most awesome thing ever. The other scene that absolutely had to go in was Sam and Dean's reaction to Jared's McMansion and the introduction of Fake-Ruby/Fake-Gen. So, SO incredibly funny and awesome. I think I said this before (and if I didn't, then shame on me), but this is a fantastically made episode and kudos to Jared, Jensen, Misha and Gen for playing such amazing fake versions of themselves.

    ReplyDelete
  32. LOL I so dont understand what happens but okay.

My friends want me to stop being so crazy about spn ehehe, but I showed them some pic of J2 and they shut up a little bit ehehehe

    ReplyDelete
  33. I smiled and laughed through the whole thing, but I'd probably have to go with the bad acting 'cause that cracked up my husband, who's not as big a fan as me so didn't know all the 'inside' jokes. Speaking of favorite lines, how about "That's fake me....so this must be fake MINE!" and of course, "I feel like this place is bad-touching me all over."

    ReplyDelete
  34. Very funny episode. Too many good ones to choose.

  35. Cas has been kept mysterious all season and that tends to get under people's skins. I'm predicting popular sentiment about Cas will do a 180 after the centric finally airs. There was an interview with an actress from another TV show who said that they had found that popularity for certain relationships tended to shift to whichever relationship had been shown most recently. We just need some quality Cas time.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Cas is in a civil war in which he's constantly being put into a position where he has to kill angels whom he considers his "brothers." The closest comparison would be when Sam and Dean were in a place where it looked like they may have to kill each other (if they were the vessels). I think I remember some whining. ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hmmm. It's either the bad acting scene or the Virgil kills them ALLLLL scene. I think I'll go for the Virgil scene if only because the lean-dodging and the (I assume) the reference to my all too famous qoute. :)

    ReplyDelete
  38. As long as Cas did not betray the Winchesters, I expect most fan opinion to be pro-Cas by the end. But if he did/does like I expect him to, there will be fans angry at and about Cas. I think the angel story line should be over so I'm just bidding my time until we can end this meandering plot.

    ReplyDelete
  39. The fake mine line always gets me rolling. I think it's the delivery more than the words.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Wait, we can pick TWO? I guess that's what I get for not reading anything and going straight to voting.

    ReplyDelete
  41. There are too many open questions. I'm expecting some level of betrayal, but that could mean anything from having a secret deal with Crowley that Cas didn't disclose to being partly responsible for Sam becoming soulless or being kept in the cage as long as he was. I'm thinking the former because it seems more consistent with Cas' personality. Another factor is how remorseful and sympathetic Cas is during his centric, and whether Cas can make up for whatever he did. A third possibility is that all these clues about Cas are red herrings, and we'll find out that it was Soulless Sam who did the betraying.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Actually, it's a reference to Dean's "I will kill you aaaallllll!" in the Bender's, which is where I assumed you got your quote. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  43. I agree-too many good moments to mention. But, I think I appreciated this episode more the second time around because then I get it!

    ReplyDelete
  44. You totally forgot to add in the bro moments! Where Sam says "we're not even brothers here!" and at the end of the episode "Hey, at least we're talkin"

    ReplyDelete
  45. It usually is the delivery, because Jensen is just flawless (gush).

    ReplyDelete
  46. Sorry, I tried, but I am just unable to chose. I laughed through most of the episode... just from the facial/body expressions alone. I had to turn the volume way up and rewind constantly just to hear what they said because I was laughing so loud. Then when I heard what they said I starting laughing again and miss the next part. Great episode.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Are you ever going to forgive me? :( I though you were mad at me so that,s why I didn't said anything....and I also didn't think you would believe me if I told the truth :(

(....and me and my friend kind of had a fight last week so not sure if we're going to stay friends much longer..........so I'm also so ashamed to have chose the wrong person :( :(....)

  48. What is going I AM SO LOST GIRL! I feel really dumb, am i supose to understand. :SSS this is not fun, feeling stupid

    ReplyDelete
  49. YEAH! Cas has the right to whine too

    ReplyDelete
  50. oh wait "I'm starting to feel like one of the gang" or what ever the exact line was... This made me laugh and wanna cry and hug realmisha/fakemisha and cas at the same time. OH!

    ReplyDelete
  51. This was a toughy because the second time I watched I was in hysterics most of the episode. For some reason on my original viewing I thought TFM was good but not great. I chose the "Fake Acting Scene" because tears literally roll down my face when I even think of the scene let alone watch it. But the whole episode was funny, especially Fake Gen and the Jared McMansion scenes and the Alpaca in the yard that was heard but not seen.

    ReplyDelete
  52. The fake acting scene definitely. I was afraid Dean's/Jensen's face was gonna freeze that way. :) As for best lines... "Jared and I are gonna do some... actor stuff." and "“We’re not actors. We’re hunters. We’re the Winchesters, always have been and always will be. And where we’re from, people don’t know who we are. But you know what? We matter to that world. In fact we even saved the son of a bitch once or twice. And yeah, OK here maybe there’s some fans who give a crap about this nonsense, but, Bob Singer, if that even is your name, tell me this: what does it all mean?”

    ReplyDelete
  53. Just thought of another nomination for best line poll (as if there aren't enough already)
Sam: 'Who wrote this? Nobody says "penultimate".'
Maybe we should do a poll for least favorite line? That might be easier.
