A lot of fricking sitcoms on tonight for me! Plan to watch The Fall of Same Axe too... and maybe Game of Thrones too if HBO-less friends decide they do want to come over....
The first two episodes air tonight at 9pm on Canal+ (in less than 8 hours). The first episode will be released online on http://xiii.canalplus.fr/ for non-subscribers to see the pilot in legal way anyway. I'm guessing it won't be restricted to France only but I'm afraid it will only be available in french on Canal+.fr (however it will air both in english and french on Canal+).
Chuck !
Last Monday's episode showed a significant improvement of an otherwise disappointing season overall. I would even say that episode 4.20 was the best episode of the season since... the Thanksgiving episode (4.10). Timothy Dalton kicked ass. So I'm eager to see what's next, and I hope the ratings will go up, as my enthusiasm did last week.
The Event !
I watched the last 6 episodes for the past 3-4 days (I had not got back into the show since it returned last month), I finally caught up and damn, that's quality television right there. Suspenseful, intriguing, filled with action and twists. It may not be the smartest drama out there but it sure is one of the most interesting and addictive.
Screw NBC if they cancel it (I hope the writers saw it coming and prepared a nice ending) and frak people who don't bother watching one of the few serialized shows on the air (and a good one) and prefer to watch DWTS or Two and a Half Men repeats instead (I won't blame people who watch The Chicago Code, they're good people).
I will wait until the end of the season to watch the 3rd seasons of both Nurse Jackie and United States of Tara. I hope the ratings will go up there as well (damn, where is the audience for all the good shows?).
LOL! Invite notwithstanding, I'll be busy tonight watching The Event while recording The Chicago Code, which I'll watch right after. If and when I get HBO I plan to spend my entire life watching TV.
I agree with your assessment of "The Event", and hope this season answers all its questions for fear of cancellation. That said however, do you watch Fringe? And if not I suggest you watch all the first and second season asap, then try to catch up on this season before the may finale. That my friend is good quality serialized sci fi television, but yeah The Event needs at least a second shot.
Actually, Fringe is the first show I've religiously watched from the very beginning every week it was on FOX (well I don't have FOX at home, but you catch my drift). From the pilot in early September 2008 (I think I even watched the pre-air version in June) to the 19th episode of the 3rd season this afternoon, I have been watching each episode every week, I never had to catch up. Before that I gently waited for the french broadcasts regarding TV shows, so this was kind of new to me (I had been watching the 4th season of Lost in early 2008 but it wasn't a new series like Fringe).
So Fringe and I go back, I've a special attachment to it. I started Sons of Anarchy and True Blood (both premiered in September 2008 as well) shortly after Fringe and here we are 3 years later and they're all still top-notch dramas.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
