I really enjoyed this episode, Vampire Diaries constantly outdoes itself with every episode. The revelation that Elijah and Klaus are brothers, Klaus is a hybrid, Jenna now knows about the vampires etc... Also I can't be the only one that wants to keep Elijah around!
BTW, anyone else noticed on how past-Katherine had so many Elena-like traits and present-Elena gets more and more Katherine-like with every episode(is it just me or she did not even care the brothers were fighting and was relieved for that since she could then go do what she wanted?)
Agree! Finlay some progress. Especially with Jenna. She finally knows. I just wonder what she will say to Elena, when she calms down. "Oh no honey, of course I don't mind you being with a vampire." Doubtful. Very doubtful. Anyone noticed? Not one second of Matt/Caroline or Jeremy/Bonnie.
Yes! I noticed long ago that Elena becomes more and more like Katerina. I still wait for Damon to say something like "Be careful. You behave more and more like that bitch" I mean, she is not with both Salvatore brothers and she is not a manipulative selfish lying bitch like Katerina is, but she learns how to deal with Damon. She is not manipulating him like Katerina did, but she learned to push the right buttons. And she becomes stronger and more self-confident. I'm not sure if I like this change or not. I'm happy, that she can take care of herself now (when it comes to the brothers). But I'm still afraid, she could become too much like Katerina. I really don't want her to end like this bitch.
As for the past Katerina: well, she was a human and didn't know that Klaus wanted her as a sacrifice. I thing finding out that someone, who says he likes you and cares for you, just wants to sacrifice you, can seriously change you. Besides: after what her parents did to her … I'm not surprised that she learned to trust just herself and not caring for everyone else. Her own parents didn't care enough for her to help her. They took her baby and kicked her out. Wouldn't that change you?
And no honey, it's not just you. Elena really didn't seem to care the brothers were fighting. I expected her to talk to each of them to calm them down. If she did, they cut it out. First: she really becomes more and more like Katerina. Season 1 she didn't wanted them to fight. Especially not over her. She helped them to work together in peace. Season 2 she don't mind them fighting over her. What will happen in season 3? Will she provoke fights? Second: maybe she just hat too much of her own problems to worry about the brothers fighting. Jenna knows, Klaus knows about her, he wants to sacrifice her and the fool moon is just a few days away.
good good good episode . I have noticed that some people are saying that Elena is becoming more like Katherine and i have to agree . Like when Damon gave Elena the house because he loves her , she was playing and toying with him even though he had not done anything. And though he loves Elena and would choose Elena over Bonnie he found a better way last week to let her live . Also like many have said yeh she did not seem to bumped out about Damon and Stefan fighting over her, maby she liked it i know it would not be the most horrible thing in the world to be adored by tow men who love you,but at the end of the day i would feel bad . Then in this Stefan was acting a bit of a di..ck to Damon i understand saying "let Elena make her own choose" but he kept pushing him , thats so mature . Then he ticked Damon off by saying "you will never have her respect" thats just horrible sorry if i were being pushed about all day by my little jealous brother and he said that i would punch him. Damon even did not try for a long time not to flirt with Elena to the point were he even said "i love you , but i don't deserve you my brother does" and made her forget , if he is getting the blame for it he may aswell tell her how he feels and not care about what Stefan thinks cause honestly Stefan is so weird . One day he will say stay away from Elena then the next he will say i am going to let you love her cause it shows that there is humanity in you then he says yet again stay way from her . Stefan is the most petty , boring jealous , vamp there is. He has alos had it easy comparison to Damon. When Stefan was evil back then and ripping peoples hearts open and Damon was nicer , Damon left and Lexi then stayed with Stefan to show him love and kindness while Damon was alone and forgot all emotions . He never had someone to tell him how to handle being angry , he has had to do that on his own , and even at that he still blows up and bite Andy , but let her go , if that were the old Damon he'd kill her in a second .Damon has no one , no one he goes home to his drink and sits by a fire while Stefan goes out with Elena . Elena keeps on saying "be the better man" but what does he actually get in the end ?, its getting to point where Damon would have Elena alive and hate him that to have her dead and he hate himself more than already.I liked when Stefan and Damon were working together .
Back to the episode Klaus is good at being bad ,and thats saying alot cause the actor actually came from the British tv "Hex" that was axed . Elijah was cool and its like history repeating itself between , Damon and Stefan as they are fighting over a love of a woman. Though i do not trust Elijah like Damon , i think he is out to seek vengeance for Klaus . I think he does not know away to safe Elena ,but does not care.It would be to easy if that were the case . Bonnie/Jere were not in this but it was mainly about Elijah ,Katherine,Klaus . Ian(Damon) said in an interview that if Damon does not get love of Elena then he will just take his ring off and go to the sun, what would he have to live for ?. I think Stefan is trying to trust Elena but he should be suspicious of Elijah,it seems he's not he would be very stupid to trust him. I know that Elena is trying to keep everyone out of harms way ,but she is forgetting one thing that in order for the sacrifice a witch is needed ,a vampire and a wolf . That basically means Caroline,Bonnie who she is trying so hard to protect ,Tyler . So if i were her i would do my homework and make sure that Elijah is the man to trust. Overall i give this episode 9/10
At first I found Damon's love of Elena almost selfless; he loves her, so he's willing to let her be, knowing that his feelings are unreciprocated--well, at one point he seemed to be going this route. Now? His obsession over her is unpleasant and he's beginning to repel me greatly as a character. Elena made it perfectly clear that she's not in love with him. So, until (if ever) that time comes, he needs to get the hell over her (I'll be the not-so-first person to offer up Bonnie, because I thought they had great chemistry, but that's just me) because this obsession is pathetic. His actor saying that if Elena rejected him he'd (Damon) just die? Really? Jesus, I didn't believe the guy at first; after all, it's just the opinion of the actor, so it's hardly canon. But after this episode? Damon is such an emotionally weak character. Writers, badass transfusion, STAT! What happened to cool, badass Damon, from the beginning of season one? I assume the writers want to chalk this up to evolution of character, but this seems more like he's devolving than anything else.
Damon's not a hero character; he's an anti-hero and oftentimes can be borderline bad guy. I don't want him to turn into Stefan (eh, enough douche-ness there, kthx). But this pathetic obsession with Elena is starting to turn me towards Elena/Stefan, even if I can never truly like the character of Stefan. I'm beginning to be over the Damon/Elena dynamic and it hasn't even occurred yet!
I just don't quite get the point of this, I guess. Make Damon as sad/pathetic as possible so that...what? I begin to grow tired of the character? But I'll give the writers the benefit of the doubt; I'm assuming they're going somewhere with this, even if I'm doubtful.
sorry even if you think Damon is all of the above he smacks Stefan out of the filed , stefan is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo boring zzzzzzzzzzzz . Its like he has no energy in him to even smile . And yes i think that he would take is ring off how ants to live forever ? and not be loved, cause he is not.
Ugh, fangirls. Calm down. Like I wrote previously, I can never truly like Stefan; simply, he's just too much of a douche to me. So, no, I can't venture to say that he's better than Damon (they're different in personalities, anyway). But that still doesn't change my opinion of what they're doing to Damon.
A character that exists solely because of another? It's not heroic or even romantic. It's straight up pathetic. A character has to be more than an obsession over another character, or they’re just, well, sad and empty.
Where's my badass Damon of early season one? Eh, oh well. I fully understand that, even if I don't like it, what the writers want a character to be is what that character'll be.
Hay i am calm and i get your opinion as everyone is in titled to one. But Stefan is sleepy . Damon i did like being total bad ass but i also hated him and now the writers are trying to make him more human , which i think is a good change he is fighting tow different Damon's the bad ass who is cool but evil , the other Damon the who one who cares and is unselfish. After all humans do go through different emotions it would be odd to have Damon do the same thing for the whole 2 seasons . Yeh he was cool ,being bad but he wants to be the bigger man , but at the same time he wants to kill he is lost . But hay i get it you love Damon bad ass lol , just i did not get why you hated the new Damon as the old Damon would have killed Andy in a seconded and also kill Bonnie by now :) He is not obssesd with Elena if he were then he would be compelling har and flirting he aint he is letting Stefan have her thats not lame and sad thats love . But who am i to question what love is never been in love lol
Hmm? Oh, I have no problem with Damon evolving as a character. In fact, that's what every well-rounded character should do, otherwise you'd have a stale and bland one. But to me he's losing that badass charm he once possessed in favor of a pathetic, mopey obsessiveness that repels me. Him torn between what he used to be and what he is now becoming? Great; reasonable, even. But he can still remain badass in the process. I don't quite get why the writers feel the need to make Damon so sad and desperate and at times downright stupid. To show how vulnerable he is emotionally? It's been shown. Ad nauseam. How about Elena chases after him for a while? There's only so much pining for her that I can stomach from Damon. There needs to be something new in that dynamic, yeah? Hopefully that'll change in the episodes to come.
I don't think he's letting Stefan have her. Quite the opposite, in fact. He's causing problems for himself and Stefan because of this, which then puts a kink in the plans to keep Elena safe. It's counterproductive to what everyone, himself especially, wants. And, yes, as I see it he's very consumed by Elena, to an unhealthy degree. When you persist in pigheadedly chasing after someone who doesn't reciprocate those feelings it is indeed so, yes? I'd say it plays up the tragic antihero if he wasn't so damned desperate for her.
Damon grappling with his inner struggles? Good; the more character development the better. Damon keeping his badass-ness in the process by curbing his obsession over Elena? Better yet; he doesn't have to stop being in love with her, just stop being so damned obsessed. More of that awesome bromance between him and Alaric? Well, this goes without saying: YES.
Well I get you I do and hopefully the writers will come up with something that makes him charming yet not damaging peoples lives. God I just want him and Elena together already lol. But I know you say he is pathetic etc... But honestly that is how humans would react sad and etc. We would act how Damon is acting how he is acting is how most of us do. And I must say I do like him all week etc it minds him he has a heart. But I don't want him to stay this way hope he starts. Being more confident in himself again. As for him causing prombles fort Stefan I think he's entitled. Stefan kept on shoving him and said a horrible thing to him ,but we can agree to disagree. Damon would rather have Elena alive and hate him rather than not to see her breath again. Trusting Eljha is stupid and is way to easy if I were Elena I would really actually see if he does have a way for Elena to survive others wise she's dead. :) Sent from my BlackBerry® wireless device
Klaus is a psycho. Not carrying about anybody but himself. But Joseph … He is such a great actor. I saw Klaus and I got shivers everywhere. Joseph is making Klaus a charismatic and deep character. No matter that he is that evil I will miss him. Great job Joseph. Really well done.
I'm not saying that I never want Damon showing emotions, like sadness. I just wish the writers wouldn't overdo it just for the sake of hammering home their point. Subtlety goes a long way.
Oh, I very much disagree about the whole Elijah thing. His whole character is one that revolves around principle, never once showing any reasons to doubt that (in fact, there are far more facts provided that show quite the opposite; while not a good guy, he is indeed trustworthy). It would be stupid not to trust him, actually, as was clearly shown last night.
Cool . But the whole Eljha thing was not guaranteed that Elena would live . But Damon oh what he did top Elena was bad! but he knows she will never ! forgive him , it would be worse if she came back as a vamp ,if she died with the blood in her system . But i still dontb want Damon to die x

Could Klaus GET any more badass?! a hybrid? OMG is right Elijah!! and finally Jenna is in the loop, I want to see her afraid of Stefan though :D
ReplyDeleteHOLY SMOKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I LOVE the hybrid-twist! It's so much cooler than the sun and moon curse. And it makes more sense, too.
