TV Guide reported there will be a death this week on the Vampire Diaries and we have narrowed down the possibilities for you, vote below

    yes Tyler return in episode 20 due to a devastating phone call but Jenna is confused and devastated in episode 19 so im thinking it could be Jeremy

    Alaric is alive and well according to future promotional pictures, set photos etc. he makes it till at least 2.20

    Well, they said it would be series regular who dies...
    I don't think John or Carol is series regular.
    My bet is on Bonnie, with her deadly witch powers.

    My God if they kill off Carol, that would be horrible! Tyler would have lost his father, his uncle, and his mother all in less than a year? I hope not! Uncle John is DEFINITELY gonna die (it's so obvious based on him and Elena mending fences), but I thought it wouldn't be until the very end of the season...but maybe. I don't think it's any regulars, but maybe I'm wrong.

    I don't even want to vote, don't want any of them to die. Last week I would have said John but I want to see where his and Elena's relationship goes as she tries to trust him.

    I think it's going to be Matt. The story is taking a turn where his character won't be fun to watch for very long. He was also very close to Tyler. Elena might become a vampire too. I was hoping that Katherine's character might have time to grow and change, even though that wasn't what happened in the books.

    Like some have said, Jeremy is around in set photos. Also, cast members tweeted about filming 2x21 with Kat Graham, so if Bonnie goes it won't be until the finale. I know Elena gets upset about this death, but judging by the 2x19 and 2x20 synopsises posted she gets over it pretty quickly. So, my bets are on Carol or John.

    IMO, when talking about TVD, one should NOT account the "episode pictures, cast filming info, etc when deciding about deaths. We are talking about the show which had:
    - Vampire-sent dreams.
    - Possession.
    - Witches being able to inhabit other witches after death.
    - All sorts of possible mind-screw dream sequences.

    Just because actor is filming in latter episodes, does not mean that he does not die before them.


    Lets not forget Buffy Season 2. Robia La Morte(Jenny) did film the scenes for finale and etc. Look how well" it ended up for her even before the finale.

    I think it could be either Carol or John who dies. Don't see it being Jeremy since him and Elena are really close and Isobel just died .I think Bonnie is way to important to kill off, they need her in order to kill Klaus so i don't see her dying this early. Plus if she dies this will be Jeremy's third girlfriend who died, aww poor Jeremy has been through too much already! I really hope that Katherine and Bonnie are safe don't die!

    Bonnie can sill be used to kill Klaus if she dies.

    Witches, especial ones with a lot of power can possess other witches.

    if bonnie dies now, she can still be used to defeat klaus by making her possess Greta at crucial moment.

    It can't be Alaric who dies in 2.18. He's in the production stills for episode 2.20.

    Used? I don't think so.

    The one established fact on tvd is that you don't 'use' or demand witches to do someones bidding, dead or alive, apparently. There's no guarantee her spirit will be able to transgress that quickly to help, if she wanted too. Or possess another witch by force - whether it was for the greater good. Besides Emily didn't need a body to lay the smack down.

    JP&KW built up the Bennett witches in Mystic - to kill off the last remaining one, would be unwarranted.

    However doesn't that whole sequence in 2.20 seem like a dream sequence? Klaus might be just mindscrewing Damon for having to kill Alaric :P

    Who's next to die?
    A question we deal with every week.

    If they kill Jeremy, then I will kill somebody. Jeremy is way to hot to die. He is one of my favorite characters.

    Bonnie has to live! She is their only weapon against Klaus. If she dies, they have to use the dagger. That means releasing Elijah (who will be pissed off – big time). Not good.

    Katherine (Katerina) … well, I wouldn't miss her. Bud I thing, it's not the last we will see of her. Besides, I still expect her to kill (and turn) Elena. Like in the books.

    Carol would be an explanation, why Tyler returns.

    Elena is not going to die. Not jet. Months ago they said something about her not turning before season 3. And something between Elena and Katerina in season 3.

    John. YES!!! I hate him. Always did. I'm glad, not to be the only one to want him dead. And this time staying dead would be nice. I can't understand Elena. How can she trust him after all he did. He killed Anna (and with that almost Jeremy. I miss Anna), he tried to kill the brothers, he was working with Katerina and Isobel.

    But maybe, because the fans expect it (that it could be them), it will be somebody else.

    My instinct would be to go w/ Carol .. but, (and I know that this sounds rude, haha!) but I honestly don't think the core characters would be THAT effected by her death to still be even semi-dramatically upset about it in future episodes.

    I'm actually leaning towards Alaric as much as I hate to say it.

    In the future epp stills I've seen him in I could definitely interpret them as a dream or hallucination sequence.

    Especially the one w/ Damon at the bar. He's looking directly at Damon, yet Damon looks bothered & upset & makes no eye contact with him.

    The only thing that draws me away from this conclusion is the fact that there IS a drink in front of Alaric. Which now makes me think that it's not him..

    Ooy. LoL!

    I don't think it'll be Jeremy or Bonnie. As you guys have already been talking about, I think that would much more likely be a season finale event if it's gonna happen at all.

    Katherine's definitely possible.

    Elena becoming a vampire could be a very interesting plot-line turn of events. And technically she would be 'dying'.

    I honestly don't see her becoming a vampire yet though. I mean, the show is still in it's second season.

    Johny's definitely a possibility right now too. .. I'm torn between voting for him or Katherine, but ultimately I voted John.

    Can't wait to find out tonight!

    (Also - Selfishly pretty darn excited for the 60's decade dance, itself. I know it's going to be all dramatic & not even matter, but the 60's is totally my personal favorite era! .. Groovy!!) :D

    As long as It Is not katharine.I am fine with any of the others on the list.I am no fan of Bonnie.So I would exactly be glad to see her go.If she lives and Katharine dies I would be very upset.I think it will be John.If Alric was on the list I would think him post Klaus possession.
