In “Girl’s Best Friend”, we see Alex and Jaden work as partners as they are put on a mission together.
The mission is to stop the son of the Liberian president who has created a nerve toxin gas in diamonds and plans to attack at the Developing Nations summit. Alex and Jaden are sent in to destroy him and his lab before he has the chance to do this. I thought this mission lacked a bit compared to others, it seemed very basic and predictable but, as per usual, the suspense kept the show moving and still made it enjoyable.
Alex, Nikita and Michael decide plotting the fake death of Alex is the best way to get Alex out from Division. Alex plans to make it look like she was blown up in the explosion of the lab. However, during the mission, this plan falls apart as Jaden’s true identity is revealed and she is taken hostage. Alex has the opportunity to blow up the lab with Jaden in, giving her the freedom to escape Division. Instead, she goes to save Jaden.
I enjoyed seeing her and Jaden work together and overcome their differences. I wasn’t surprised when Alex sacrificed her freedom over Jaden, it proves there has been real character development for Alex and she has grown as a person. If this had happened a few months before, I’m not convinced Alex would have made the same decision. With Nikita’s help, the diamonds are destroyed and the girls walk away with a completed mission.
At the end, Jaden is given Agent status after stealing the frozen toxin and giving it to Percy. Jaden becoming an Agent will most likely be significant to the rest of the season. Will she try and bring Alex down? Will she turn rogue? Will she become Percy’s spy? He certainly has a lot of trust in her. I can’t wait to see it all unfold.
Overall, this wasn’t the best episode of Nikita but there was more than enough tension and suspense to make the show a thrill to watch. The episode really highlighted character development especially for Alex, she has grown so much since the first episode and each week I love her even more. With only a few episodes of Nikita left, I suspect the rest of the season is going to be fast paced with lots of suspense and I can’t wait to watch it!

Yeah. the next episode something has to happen regarding Michael being infiltrated and Nikita has to be captured by Divison!!!! Hardly can't wait.
