Supernatural - Season 6 - Twists and Spoilers - What's Your Theory?

14 Mar 2011

So Paley gave us a lot to think about. Here's some things we know about the rest of season 6 - SPOILERS AHEAD.

1. Sam's wall crashes hard in the finale.
2. At least 2 people die. Kripke calls them unexpected.
3. The final two episodes, although airing on the same night, will not run seamlessly. They will be two different episodes.
4. There is a "larger" and "more epic" confrontation with Eve than we expect.
5. The angel civil war will get extended playtime, including Castiel's childhood and new lieutenant, Rachel.
6. This season ends on a cliffhanger that will leave us "tearing our hair out." That's a given, from Kripke.
7. The season finale sets up a whole new beginning.
8. The brothers stay a "cohesive unit" and Dean goes into big brother mode.
9. We've got some big twists coming our way.
10. Episode 20 will be very emotional.
11. The brothers go back in time to get the Colt.
12. All signs point to a season 7 renewal.

Now comes the hard part - figuring out what it all means. So give us your best theories, throw out the things that have been niggling at your since they aired. It sounds like all bets are off in these last episodes. Also, feel free to add in what you want to see happen. We've heard the amulet is not coming back this season (sniff), but I for one am hoping that Bobby and the Impala make it out in one piece. That means out on earth in our reality, by the way, not stuck in purgatory or on an astral plane.

What's your theory? Here's part of mine - reposted from my earlier comment on SpoilerTV, but what can I say, it's almost 2:00 am here and I have to work tomorrow.

Cas has been secretly working with Crowley the entire time in order to win the angel war. Cas did that burn thing knowing beforehand that it would get them both exactly what they wanted. When Crowley shows up again, Cas picks him over the Winchesters leading to betrayal on a cosmic level (or normal SPN). Rachel will have something to do with it to. Perhaps Eve does too.

So that's my opinion, but I'm rarely correct when it comes to SPN finales.

  1. We also know that Eve, purgatory, souls, the angel civil war, Crowley's plan and through that RoboSam's year all tie together somehow. It going to get messy for the Winchester clan.

  2. I too think Cas has been working with Crowley.
Crowley's death was too easy. For the aspiring 'king of hell' to be taken out in such a way just doesn't ring true - his bones had already been dug up by the boys, so he surely wouldn't have just left them lying around. I know Cas is an angel, but Crowley would know how to hide his bones well enough. So, he either left them for Cas to find in order for Cas to burn them and send him to purgatory, or they weren't his bones at all and his death was some kind of trick. I think the former, but who knows?
Also, we suspect Crowley is back since Mark Sheppard was photographed arriving in Vancouver. True, there's plenty of shows made there, but I'm inclined to believe he was there for SPN. (Did anyone hear any more about that?)

We always knew Sam's wall wouldn't hold. I still wonder why Death decided to get Sam's soul back. While he clearly kinda likes Dean, he also called them an affront to the natural order (I think I got that right?) So he's interfered with the natural order himself by involving himself . My question is: what will Death want in return? Because he will want something.

I keep promising myself I'm not gonna speculate any more. Just like I promise myself I'm not looking at spoilers (although I kept that promise for The French Mistake - still proud of myself for that) and here I am again - just can't help myself.....

  3. Couple things:

Glad we'll get to see Sam's wall shatter and see the ramifications of it.
How did they lose the Colt? Thought they last had it to shoot Lucifer, didn't work, but never lost it.
Kinda annoyed the 2 hour night won't run seamlessly, but oh well I guess.

  4. um, interesting theory about Cas working with Crowly, never crossed my mind.
I guess I wouldn't be the first to say 'hey, that makes the perfect sense'.
this could explain why he was so obsessed with finding the way in (or in that case the way out) the Purgatory - maybe there is something really powerful and he wants to bring it here...

about the deaths in the finale - I think one of them could Crowly this time for good - really unexpected))
the second could be Rafael - not so much unexpected, but heaven's civil war won't stop until he dies.

the Death said something about the power of soul and that he wants Winchesters to investigate something about that... I have no idea where it'll lead them, but I am really excited)))

  5. Oh wow...I wish I had been there! Anyways: thoughts.

    1. Sam's wall crashes hard in the finale.

I don't know about anyone else, but I for one saw this coming. There was no way that wall was gonna hold indefinitely, especially not with the dire warnings Death gave Dean. The questions which remain are what's going to trigger the fall? And what will Sam be like afterwards? I have no idea, but I suspect that in both cases, the answer will be 'It's not going to pretty'.

    2. At least 2 people die. Kripke calls them unexpected.

If Bobby is one of these, I'll be forced to kill someone. I don't know why, but personally, Castiel sprung to mind here. I don't know would they go with one of the brothers again...hmmm. There aren't exactly a lot of significant characters left on Supernatural, two is a lot to be killing!

    3. The final two episodes, although airing on the same night, will not run seamlessly. They will be two different episodes.

This makes sense to me. They have so few episodes left this season, they need to use every moment available to build the storyline credibly.

    4. There is a "larger" and "more epic" confrontation with Eve than we expect.

Given that I had no expectations whatsoever about Eve, this is not true. However, I am looking forward to a big blowout.

    5. The angel civil war will get extended playtime, including Castiel's childhood and new lieutenant, Rachel.

This seems to me like they might be wrapping up the angel storyline, which coincides nicely with my theory about Castiel dying in the finale. I'm looking forward to meeting Rachel, and to learning a bit more about Cas!

    6. This season ends on a cliffhanger that will leave us "tearing our hair out." That's a given, from Kripke.

I agree! Not like they've done that before. Just, oh, I don't know...every season! On a more positive note, surely this means things look good for a renewal?

    7. The season finale sets up a whole new beginning.

That is what I like to hear! Ditto the hope this gives about renewal, and I'm also very interested to see where they take the show next year. Though I honestly can't imagine where they would go from here.

    8. The brothers stay a "cohesive unit" and Dean goes into big brother mode.

This is the best spoiler I've ever heard. Literally. It lays to rest any fears I might have had about the end of the season and allows me to relax (as much as is possible with SPN) and enjoy the rest of the ride. Finally, the brother-angst seems to be winding down...only took 3 seasons.

    9. We've got some big twists coming our way.

Again I say...not like they've done that before. Every time I think I have this show figured out, it throws me a curve ball. I like Dahne's theory about Crowley, didn't we get a rumour a while back that Mark Sheppard was back filming in Vancouver?

    10. Episode 20 will be very emotional.

I look forward to it. It's been a while since I had a nice cry at SPN. I wonder will the emotionality (wow...my spell check claims that that's actually a word) have anything to do with the return of Mary Winchester in the preceeding ep?

    11. The brothers go back in time to get the Colt.

I can't wait for this ep. The boys in Stetsons, what could be better?! I feel embarrassed to ask, but...what happened to the Colt in our time? I can't remember for the life of me!

    12. All signs point to a season 7 renewal.

*pumps fist in the air* YEEEEEEESSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!! (Normally I hate people who type all in caps locks, but that was worthy of it).

  6. Oooo.. Interesting spoilers, another two deaths? I don't think I can cope with any more!!! Please don't say it's Bobby.... Pleaseeee

  7. MORE SPOILERS-

-episode 21 will be Dean centric
-Dean will spend a lot of time over the last few episodes thinking/angsting over Lisa and Ben
-we have not seen the last of Lisa and Ben in season 6 (my guess they'll be in episode 21 since it's Dean centric)

-episode 22 is a big one for Sam (the wall coming down)
-Sam will be riding a horse in the western episode
-Sam is not a good horse rider--'Sam's not supposed to be able to ride a horse.' So Jared's not a great rider, but Jared is a better rider than Sam is, so it was fun to get on the horse and act awkward and fall off and do all the things that you see beginning riders on horses do. It was nice to, once again, just poke fun at yourself."

  8. SAM RELATED NEWS
    1. Sam is going to be dealing with a lot in regards to his soulless self.
    2. Sam is going to be going through a lot of self-torture.
    3. Jared says that the wall does break and it IS as catastrophic as Death said it would be and Sam goes to a place we think he can't get out of
    4. Jared says maybe if we don't get season 7, Sam won't get out of it

and in the newest TV Guide article it says:

    Quote:
As Sam and Dean prepare to take on Eve, aka the Mother of All, executive producer Sera Gamble told TVGuide.com at Sunday's PaleyFest that the season finale will feature at least two unexpected deaths.
"There will definitely be deaths," said Gamble, who penned the penultimate episode for Season 6. "I would say that the last couple of episodes are pretty dark. The situation is rather desperate for Sam and Dean and they truly have to ban together to get the job done."

    Quote:
On top of the impending battle with the Mother of All, Season 6 has seen Sam plagued with a memory block, placed on him by Death, which has kept him from learning the truth of what happened during his year without a soul. "I will say we conclusively deal with Sam's amnesia and the fact that he doesn't remember what happened to him in hell," Kripke says." He's got this bit of drywall in his head, but it's a shabby, unstable piece of drywall and it's only a matter of time before the wall falls down, and in the finale, the wall falls down."

"It's something that Sam is both afraid of and also he's dying to know what he did that year that he was soulless," Gamble adds. "It's something that Dean has great fear about. Every ounce of big-brother protectiveness inside him wants to shield Sam from what might happen if the wall comes down, so it's a pretty major thing for them."
The truth, however daunting it may be, will not tear apart the brothers. "We're actually enjoying that, for the first time in a long time, the brothers are a really strong, cohesive unit, so we're going to keep them like that for the foreseeable future," Kripke says.

  9. According to IMDB Shepard will be in episode 6x20 "The Man Who Would be King". They aren't always accurate , but it is the first specific info I have seen....

    ReplyDelete
  10. I am annoyed it will not be a 2-hour seamless episode too! I don't really see the sense of planning to run two episodes back to back if they are not seamless.... unless it was more of a network decision. Those guys never makes sense....

  11. Two deaths - lisa and ben killed by monsters? It would make the "abandoning your family" line more significant and motivate Dean to become a bad-ass-monster-killer in season 7.

    ReplyDelete
  12. After Lucifer got a headshot by Dean with the Colt, he rose and bitch slapped Dean all across the field. Somewhere between getting hit and landing against the tree, he dropped the gun and that was the last to be seen by it

    ReplyDelete
  13. About the deaths..I think it depends on what kind of death we're talking about. If we're talking about someone dying and staying that way for more than a couple of episodes,I'm guessing that Balthazar could be one of the characters that die.And maybe Raphael or Crowley(if he isn't already dead)..Or even Lisa and Ben(they're capable about anything and that would be unexpected)!I don't think the writers are gonna kill Cas or Bobby..yet!
Or it could mean the common SPN death, dying in the season finale and coming back in the next season premiere..If that's the case, everyone's fair game!Although,I suspect that in this case,Cas would be the one to die and then come back!Cas can't die and stay dead..The world is not ready for that! ; )

About Dahne's theory.First of all, thanks for sharing it with us!It's always fun to hear other ideas!
I don't completely agree with you.I do think that Cas is hiding something big and it is possible that he's working with Crowley. But I don't think that in the end he would betray the boys.As Jared said in an interview, whatever Cas does is with a good intention.Of course, that doesn't make it right, but betraying Dean and Sam would be huge and I don't think it's gonna happen.I think it's more possible that the boys will learn some of the "regrettable things" he's done,Dean will be pissed, they'll fight for a couple of episodes and then when it truly matters, they'll have each others back.
One of those things could be a deal with Crowley,as you said and I admit,it'll be a big twist.

I think your theory would be more possible if this was a series finale and I strongly believe that it's not.
I'm dying to see the rest of the season..............

    ReplyDelete
  14. Ah, thanks, I do remember that. I think I should possibly take this hiatus as an opportunity to rewatch as much of the show as possible, I'm definitely after getting rusty on some of the details. Though as it's supposed to be my 'study' month, maybe not. :D

    ReplyDelete
  15. Having read this, I now want season 7 more than ever. I will be very upset if Sam is consigned to his own personal hell as an ending to the series.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I also think that Cas and Crowley were working together, it was just so easy for the angel to find those bones.

I'm really excited about the Eve storyline.
Western Ep is coming up and I'm really looking forward to the Castiel-centric 20th episode, in which according to spoilers we'll "see the return of a familiar face from the hunters' past". Could that be Crowley or someone else? And hey it was about time we get a depth episode about the heavenly war and Castiel.

I'm excited about Rachel, but I don't think Castiel would actually betray the Winchesters =)

  17. My guess is that they never expected to have 6.21 and 6.22 on the same day. Then when Smallville needed a two-hour finale it pushed 6.21 back a week. Really this is Smallville driving Supernatural's schedule. Supernatural's crew assumed that they would be one week apart like normal. Kripke said that there were too many loose ends to tie up by the time they heard they would air on the same day and therefore, they could not make it seamless.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I agree. Raphael doesn't make it out of this season alive. He's another loose end.

    ReplyDelete
  19. No, no, no! That had better not mean that Lisa and Ben die. Those would be 2 unexpected deaths but I do NOT want to live with the fall out grief in season 7. (Stamping my foot and otherwise acting like a two-year-old here!)

    Really interesting theory

    ReplyDelete
  21. Supernatural Junkie14 March 2011 at 15:13

I think one of the deaths will be Lisa (has anyone seen this actress on Being Human as a protective single mother dealing with a vampire?). Remember Dean giving the letter for Ben to the creepy doctor who monitored him while he died earlier in the season? This could set up Dean as protector of Ben, maybe letting him live with Bobby like they wanted Adam to do. This could add a whole new dimension to Dean and Sam, and add a new recurring character (a budding hunter with the same feelings Sam and Dean had when they became hunters) that could be a great story line for the show in the future.

The other death could be either Balthazar or Raphael. The battle in heaven could reveal a lot about Castiel's past, which will probably include how his relationships with the other archangels came to be.

I think the Purgatory storyline will be involved with the Great Wall of Sam falling. Maybe we'll see Adam again, or maybe Raphael or Crowley will be the culprit in this happening. Sam and Dean may have to actually visit Purgatory to stop Eve. This will cause Sam's wall to fall. Sam will then be crippled with guilt and horror over the memories that come flooding back. Dean will do his best to protect and help him, and Chuck will reappear, reveal himself as God, and heal Sam. Come to think of it, maybe Sam and Dean will have to "die" again to visit Purgatory and their escape may be the cliffhanger or the fallout from Sam's wall falling will be.

If Cas has been working with Crowley, maybe Crowley will be deceiving him and this will lead to a huge confrontation.

The colt will probably come back as the only weapon that will stop Eve and Crowley. Anyone think Eve and Crowley are working together?

    ReplyDelete
  22. I just got really excited for the prospects of the rest of season 6. :)

    ReplyDelete
  23. And there were pics of him in Canada.
    :D

    ReplyDelete
  24. I am ok with the 2 separate episodes... It just needs to be two great episodes. lol

    ReplyDelete
  25. "After Lucifer got a headshot by Dean with the Colt, he rose and bitch slapped Dean all across the field."

I just laughed so hard at the way you phrased that...

    ReplyDelete
  26. Oh crap...if they die... :(
    God...no killing children!

    ReplyDelete
  27. lol that would totally be a SPN ending.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Oh don't I know it! After all, they were going to leave Sam in hell if we didn't get a season 6! Though Kripke was going on about a coda...hmmm...

    ReplyDelete
  29. Just a thought: perception is key when dealing with betrayal: it might not seem to be betrayal to Cas, but it might totally seem like utter betrayal to Sam and Dean...

    ReplyDelete
  30. To answer your question: yes, I saw her on Being Human and was like "WOMG, it's the same character! lol"

    ReplyDelete
  31. So did they drop the whole Death telling Dean "To keep digging,It's about the souls and he'll know more when he needs to"?

And wouldn't Death take exception to what Eve is doing, I'm pretty sure she is wrecking the natural order on a grander scale then Dean and Sam ever did.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Supernatural Junkie14 March 2011 at 15:34

I really like Being Human. But it's really nothing like Supernatural since it's from the monster's point of view.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Completely agree! That's the one line I do not want them to cross. No killing kids. They didn't kill Jesse, so Ben had better be safe.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Ben living with any of the hunters would ruin the show. If Lisa dies, Ben needs to go and live with her sister.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I wonder if it has any significance that the Mother of All is Eve and Sam and Dean's brother is Adam...

    ReplyDelete
  36. Supernatural Junkie14 March 2011 at 16:38

Maybe, but if he did reconnect with Dean from time to time I think it would a new path for the show to explore.

    ReplyDelete
  37. They can reconnect as long as it happens offscreen. If I want to watch kids, I'll watch one of those family comedies that the networks love.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Actually the angst factor and the J. Carver influence is all too obvious to me while watching...

But yeah, Cindy Sampson definitely plays the same character, with a different kid of course.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Supernatural Junkie14 March 2011 at 16:46

Okay, but what did you think about the episodes where Dean and Sam were shown as kids?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Loved them, but that was different. They were just occasional flashbacks and they rounded out the character development of the two leads. Also, Sam and Dean had such a twisted childhood it didn't feel like a typical family drama.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Ok my theory...based on a lot of reading of spoilers on various sites (and let me tell you some of those comments are scarier than Hell itself - a lot of haters out there it seems. at least this site is nice about things.)

In Frontierland they go back for the original Colt because that is the "heavenly weapon" Cas needs to end the war.
Episode 19 - they meet Eve for the first time and she thanks them for stopping the Apocalypse and tilted the earth off balance so she could be free.
Episode 20 - Cas-centric really no idea about it but looking forward to seeing his "childhood"
Episode 21 - Lisa and Ben are the two unexpected deaths and in this Dean-centric episode he begins to spiral out of control as he feels guilt. Oh and the angel war will be over.
Episode 22 - They take down Eve, all is right in the Winchester world until the last minute when Sam's wall comes crashing down...and then Dean's protectiveness kicks in full force as he stands over his baby brother's broken body and mind and the the scene fades to black.

    Come on season 7!

    ReplyDelete
  42. I know, you're right. But I think that choosing a demon over Sam and Dean can be easily considered betrayal by everyone and I don't think he can do something like that..
As I said though,I'm pretty confident that some of the things he's done or he's about to do,will cause tension between him and the boys...

    ReplyDelete
  43. I like the idea that Cas has been working with Crowley. It's an interesting concept.
I just have no idea how the Civil War will connect with the Mother of All...?

On a separate note, one thing that worries me is that picture of a black mustang with the KAZ 2YK plates (from Mommy Dearest, I think?)

    ReplyDelete
  44. True and I understand that reasoning for the episodes. I'm still unsure of this season, can't judge it entirely until its done but it seems like they got way too much going on right now and seems jumbled (for me at least, I know tons of people are enjoying this season).

    ReplyDelete
  45. good and workable theories, I can see the rest of the season taking this path

    ReplyDelete
  46. I've been wondering that too especially since Sera Gamble said we'd be hearing about Adam at some point this season

    ReplyDelete
  47. I think as the season goes on the soul thing Death talked about will come more into play, it's not necessarily something we have to see actively being played out the mystery will be part of all the other arcs and Dean will know what it is when the time comes/when it becomes useful/important.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I like that theory, but that doesn't seem to be it. I think Michael is using Cas's body and Castiel is in the pits of hell with Lucifer. Also I have a bad feeling Lisa and Ben die by Rachel or Eve.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Apparently some fans have said Nicholas Elia has some movie roles lined up and said he doesn't really want to come back especially not in such a heavy capacity. The writes were forced to change the storyline and not show the Dean/Ben bond so much on screen because of his unavailability hence the reason we got more Lisa scenes than actual Ben scenes.

    ReplyDelete
  50. It was most likely a network decision due to the two hour Smallville series finale the week before.

  51. ANOTHER PALEY INTERVIEW-FINALE SCOOP

'Supernatural' finale scoop: What's going to happen to Sam? Hint: Jared Padalecki says they've saved 'the scariest for last'

Eric Kripke revealed that in the season finale, Sam’s wall is going to crumble.

“We’re going to deal head-on with the story of what happens when those memories come flooding loose. That’s in the finale, which I just wrote and turned into Sera [Gamble] yesterday,” he revealed.

When the wall was constructed by Death, the brothers were warned that the mental and physical consequences of its destruction could be dire — and we shivered in fear at the thought of Sam in that awful condition. According to star Jared Padalecki, we should be scared.

“We’re saving the best for last — and the scariest for last. It does come down, and as death warned, it’s a catastrophe,” he told EW. “Sam has to battle something he’s never battled before, which is himself.”

“Sam is going to have to ultimately confront what he did soul-less and did in hell. There’s a lot of Sam soul searching,” he added.

In related finale scoop: Kripke said fans can look for everything to “come to a head,” including the war in heaven, the showdown with the Mother of All, and the mystery behind Purgatory. “It’s just sort of turning everything up into a high boil,” he said.

    ReplyDelete
  52. A little ironic that since Sam's soul was replaced he has done more soul searching than ever...

    ReplyDelete
  53. I love this season, but I agree that there are too many balls still in the air for only having 6 episodes left. If they really are going to try to kill Mother, end the Alpha plot, finish the war in heaven and deal with Sam's wall breaking, they are going to have to rush through. I would prefer at least one of these story lines becomes the main arc for next year, but it sounds like they have a plan. Regardless of anything else, I trust the writers and producers of this show. So if they say they have a plan, I'm ready for the ride.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Lucifer falls and appears to be dead at first, but he gets up in pain, the bullet wound in his forehead heals, and he punches Dean into a tree, this Causes Dean to drop the colt and when castiel rescues him he is unable to retrieve it.

So since the episode 'Abandon All Hope', the Colt has been M.I.A. It has proven to be the there are 5 things in all creation that the colt can't kill. Lucifer is one of them. I'm sure they're hoping Eve is not an exception as well.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Good ideas. It's giving me a lot to think about. I don't think Dean would have Ben living with Bobby though. He is dead set against Ben being any part of the hunting life. Living with Bobby would put him right smack in the middle of it. Because of this, I think either both Lisa and Ben live or they both die, and it better not be the later. I can't take 6 months of Dean grief and guilt over their deaths.

It wouldn't surprise me if Dean and Sam did visit purgatory at some time. After all, they've already been to heaven and hell. I think that would be interesting because thus far, the idea of purgatory has been pretty murky on this show. They seem to be saying that it is worse than hell, but that makes no sense to me. Also, it doesn't make sense that when demons "really die" they go to purgatory or is it hell or is it something else? I'm confused and I hope we get a bit more clarification either this year or next.

Let's leave Chuck wherever he is. I could do without his return.

I originally thought about Eve and Crowley working together. It would make sense because he wanted Purgatory, buy then I was thinking about the Alphas. Why would Crowley need the Alphas if he already had a merger in place with Eve? My new theory is that Crowley was trying to overthrow Eve's reign in purgatory and become King of Hell and Purgatory. Of course, he could be working for her but that opens even more questions for me. I think it would be a huge shock if Castiel was working with Eve in order to get rid of Raphael, but I don't think even Supernatural would go that far. It would be entertaining TV though - well for me at least.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I stopped watching it before Cindy Sampson joined them. Does the ghost girl get less whiny? She's the one I couldn't take although the werewolf guy was headed that way too. I think the premise is interesting but I'm not into overly angsty fare. Supernatural is about as angsty as I get.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I didn't know that. Thanks for the info. It explains a lot to me. Here's a case of scheduling conflict that I feel is to the detriment of the show. I would have liked to see more of Dean and Ben together.

    ReplyDelete
  58. My guess is that it will become prominent in the last 3 episodes. I'm not sure how it will fit but it would be great having Death back again. However, I would be good if season 7 were based around this too because then they would not have so many loose ends to tie up in such a short amount of time.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Ha! This kind of makes it sound like Sam is going to have split personalities.

  60. Just saw an interview where Misha is talking about how the Winchesters and he are after the "ultimate" weapon, which is his only chance against Raphael. I have a hard time believing that the Colt is the ultimate weapon. It couldn't take down Lucifer, another archangel, why would it take down Raphael? So, if the Colt is not the weapon he is talking about, what is? I would say Eve is a pretty powerful weapon but they would need to find a way to control her in order for that to work. What do you think?

    ReplyDelete
  61. Ah thank you for clarifying that, I forgot Dean got smacked away.

I'm also figuring Eve will end up being one of the 5 that the Colt can't kill.

    ReplyDelete
  62. They shot Lucifer, he didn't die then Lucifer took the Colt and we have never seen it again.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I'd believe the Colt can kill Eve before believing it could kill Raphael. Mostly because the Colt can kill Eve's children. However, I think the search for the Colt is simply an excuse to be able to do the western episode they've been talking about for awhile. I don't think it's going to kill Eve either.

Actually, it would be smart to have Samuel Colt build an arsenal of monster-killing weapons but I'm guessing there isn't enough time for that. Darn!

  64. GOOD! Maybe we wont get an other "back from the dead"

  66. about the death, unexpected doesnt mean he/she is an important caracter (just agree with me cause then it means its cas and bobby and I CANT think about THAT *cries*)

Unexpected: .... DEATH dies wooHWOHWOHW! .... ........ ADAM.. does he count! and and..... Bathazar SEE ITS NOT CAS NOR BOBBY. *rolls in a ball and cries even more*

  67. They were really chatty with the spoilers this time. I think they want us mentally prepared because they are going to do something particularly nasty to us as the cliffhanger. That's my real theory from Paley. I think the internet is going to break with 1 million fans screaming KKRRRIIIPPPKKKKEEEEEE throughout FaceBook and Twitter come May 20.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I think the Big Bad in the final season will be Death. But that's a few years off. Oh, and they won't win against him. Actually, the two most unexpected deaths would be killing God and Death, but I don't think that's happening.

  69. I'm just hoping we get more classic rock for the road!

  70. I'm just hoping we get more classic rock for the road trips and next season too.

  71. There are pics of the boys at Vancouver airport returning from the Paleyfest. Behind Jensen and Misha were more up front and Jared was right behind them. They were all cutting up. Jensen especially. Behind about 10 feet or so was Mark Sheppard. Now they are supposed to be filming the finale this next week. Mark Sheppard is still there.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I am wondering if the two unexpected deaths are payment for the unnatural order of things due to Sam's being brought back from Hell and his soul being returned.

    ReplyDelete
  73. From what Kripke said, it started out like All Hell Breaks Loose, a two parter. He said the stories just had a mind of their own. It ended up one more involved with Dean and one with Sam.

    ReplyDelete
  74. it does sound like that, wouldn't that be interesting?!

    ReplyDelete
  75. My thought is Lucifer couldn't be killed by the colt because he was an angel, an archangel. It would not have killed Gabriel, Raphael,, or Michael. I am assuming the fifth would be God. An opinion, for what it's worth.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I hope not. I haven't seen too many actors make split personalities in one body work well,, and even fewer actors excelled in that role. One would be Edward Norton in Primal Fear with Richard Gere. More have done nice jobs playing themselves and their "evil twin", impostor, shape-shifted clone or other-dimensional self.

    ReplyDelete
  77. That phraseology was perfect and suited what happened exactly. lol

    ReplyDelete
  78. gosh girl, I really dont like it, I DONT FEEL GOOD ABOUT THIS AT ALL. It's gonna be my first live finale and I dont think I can take it. Kripke will kill me, I wont be able to freak out for 5 mins and then put on season x. NO its over! for 2-3 freaken month. OKAY this is RIDICULUS im freakin out in advance... damn it! JUST DONT TOUCHMY MISHA KRIPKE!

  79. All I know is Jim Beaver said the finale was unexpected.

    ReplyDelete
  80. My concern since Dean's poisoned vision in the season premier is that Ben really is his son, Winchester blood, and goes bad. Sam didn't. The bad guys wanted a Winchester leader. It's my main fear for quite a while. Lisa might die. I hope not.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I seriously think that if Season 6 had not been available, Sam would still have gone to Hell, but when Adam tried to grab him, Dean would have managed enough strength to grab Adam and all three would have gone into the hole, or Sam would not have regained control until after that list fist into Dean, and Dean would have died there. In other words, Kripke would have killed them both.

    ReplyDelete
  82. That sounds pretty much like the plot of Lovecraft's "The Haunter of the Dark" where a supernatural creature of great power is summoned through a great sacrifice and it possesses the main character, only to be killed by lightning. Sam is the main character, the sacrifice is the wall and the creature's what's hiding behind the wall. And I bet that Dean will somehow be the one to "kill" the creature. The question's how...

    ReplyDelete
  83. Does anyone else not buy all this fantasy crap (fairies and dragons) that has been going on this season? Wouldn't be surprised if a twist coming would explain all these monsters as not really real.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Actually. no.I think that the popularity and hype around Game of Thrones, the domination of Harry Potter in the media and the bite (pardon the pun) of shows like True Blood and The Vampire Diaries has every network thinking of trying to capitalize on magic and fantasy.

I think there is a small but loyal fanbase of Fantasy lovers that would love to latch onto a show. Not to mention there are even LESS Fantasy Adventure shows on the air than SciFi or Fantasy Horror. Every few years there seems to be a run of some genre by every network. This next year it seems to be Fantasy influenced dramas.

All that stated, IF they all pass the pilot stage (a big IF) and make it to the season pick-up stage, I doubt a half of them will get a back 9 order and I bet less than a third get a full season or second season order. I exclude Game of Thrones from these numbers altogether since it is a lock for renewal.

    ReplyDelete
  85. That's intersting..Maybe the Souls are weapons? Maybe that's where the Angels get their power, from the souls in Heaven. After all, Demons are powerfull and they are just twisted human souls.

    ReplyDelete
  86. I'm still watching. It got a little bit more violent, but honestly, I've been watching SPN and Smallville for so long, I'm almost numb to the angst. lol It seems to be better.

Although, tonight's episode has a car hit Cindy Sampson's son and I bet it's gonna get really angsty when they watch him die...

I will say though, it's become more balanced between angst and humor. Also, I like the girl more than I used to. She was like bipolar or something O.o

She just found out that she didn't fall down the stairs, but her fiance actually killed her, so there's that too...

    ReplyDelete
  87. They already killed Misha.
They, however, have NOT yet killed Cas... lol

  89. I'm inordinately excited about the Cas-centric episode (with Crowley! and Cas's girlfriend, Rachel). But I'm not sure how exactly an angel has a childhood??

As for deaths, I'm betting Balthazar definitely dies as well as Lisa and Ben. I'm thinking that Cas and Bobby's popularity protects them. (I thought that at least Cas would die in Swan Song, but that didn't happen).

  90. EXACTLY once a season is ENOUGH! he has a kid, he needs the money HAVE A HEART KRIPKE!

    ReplyDelete
  91. She is exactly why I added in "one body" to my thought. She is technically in two bodies and gets the added benefit of wardrobe and hair changes. When Fauxlivia was impersonating Olivia she fell under the impostor category to me... again, not a split personality exactly. Regardlessof fitting my definition or not, Anna Torv does her job well!

I think it's much easier to portray another person (even if you play both parts) than it is to portray one person with split personalities. So much subtlety is needed in body language and gesturing, speech and intonation. To capture the essence of sharing the same body with its inherent traits... and still differentiate a completely separate person's personality... all at the same time.... It is so impressive when it is done well.

  92. I just really hope that all of these threads tie together in a way that is both surprising and awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  93. I hope so too, this season has seemed meandering to me at times, but with a good run of episodes they could pull all the seemingly separate threads together and put a cap on unfinished business from last year. I'm hoping!

    ReplyDelete
  94. Interesting. I'd say the sacrifice was jumping into the pit. There was some debate about how Sam's consciousness could be in two places at once (the pit and walking around in RoboSam), and RoboSam referred to souled Sam as that other guy or Dean's brother a couple of times. It was like RoboSam grew into a different entity than Sam. People don't usually keep walking around and thinking after their soul has departed their body.

Also interesting was the look of pure hate that RoboSam gave Dean as Death was putting the soul back in him. The scene was so strong that I felt at the time that we'd be hearing from RoboSam again (and not just in flashbacks).

    ReplyDelete
  95. well at least with all the cliffhangers and such they said that the brothers are going to stay a cohesive unit working together for the foreseeable future...so YEAH! Winning! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  96. Ha! Let's hope it doesn't take quite as much effort in the Sam vs. RoboSam battle. Plus the glowy white dot things reminded me of the fairies. Do you suppose Sam has to go to the land of the fairies in order to completely destroy RoboSam? They could battle among the flowers and drink nectar like Gatorade. This episode would of course have to be directed by Edlund and I would have to be far, far away from my TV.

    ReplyDelete
  97. 2 people die? There's just about only 4 main characters, and a few more side characters. I expect one of those two to be the long running tradition of one of the brothers dying at the end of each season... maybe both?

    ReplyDelete
  98. I figured he did. It was just too neat. That and I watch too many crime/paranormal shows.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Jensen Ackles mentioned classic rock coming back. Maybe we've suffered through the elevator music lately so that we could get triple doses of real rock in the last 6 episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  100. I actually don't think either of the brothers will die this time. It seems like the writers realize that it has been done to death (pardon the pun) the way they keep making fun of it. If it were the meta episode, I could see it, but now I don't think it would work for a serious one. The only exception would be if Sam's wall crumbling led him to purgatory. However, I think they've talked up those consequences so much it would be anticlimactic if he died - not unexpected.

That does lead to very few characters we care enough about to be shocked by their death. I'm more worried about Bobby but I can't see him being off the show so that would lead to yet another resurrection. I'm worried for Lisa and Ben now because it would be shocking to most viewers who believe they are no longer in the picture. Other than that it would have to be someone we think is already dead (Crowley), someone who has already died (Mary), or someone we think can't die (Death) to be really unexpected.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Another thought about Lisa - the Mommy Dearest photos suggest that Mother was turning mother figures into monsters, or at least making them appear to be so. Lisa's a mother too.

    ReplyDelete
  102. I love fantasy shows just don't think it fits in well with this show. It needs to maintain that gritty/realistic edge for me anyway. Hoping they stay away from fantasy elements in the future..

    ReplyDelete
  103. Its not the Mother who bringing people back, spoilers say this one is down to Balthazar and its nothing to do with motherly figures, more to do with his hate of the film TITANIC causing him to go back in history and stop it from sinking hence changing the future/natural order. Definitely nothing to do with Lisa.

    ReplyDelete
  104. I saw that spoiler this morning too. I'm a little confused about the time sequence here. The titanic episode is the first one when we get back (6.17), but the pictures with Ellen and Mary were attributed to the Mommy Dearest episode (6.19), and that set of pictures included Eve.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Damn, last night they killed 3 children on that show.
    Freakin' angsty...

    ReplyDelete
  106. I think the 6x22 description is very close to what will happen...

    ReplyDelete
  107. I agree...it's just too different from what I'm used to from SPN...

    ReplyDelete
  108. Sam's wall crashes hard? 2 deaths? We'll be tearing our hair out? Oh, Sam & Dean are so, so screwed....

But yay for the big brother mode!

    ReplyDelete
  109. Well i think Dean will die and for good , he has cheated death way to much . Also there are signs in the show like "And when my guts get ripped out, just so you two know, we're good. Blanket apology for all the crap that anybody's done, all the way around." That's what it could mean by big brother mode, he would die for Sam again. I think that will only happen if there is not a season 7 as they would not carry on without ether brother . But when it is the FINAL he will it wont have a happy ending, not with Supernatural . It would be a good twist if Ben is Dean's son and Lisa just does not wont to tell him to get him to stay that way . But if Dean did die he would still live on through Ben and Sam would take care of him and also Lisa of course, but Sam does not qite on family . If Sam's wall did break not good news at all, he could go dark side again and all emotional. I mean he was in hell longer than Dean and that does mean longer years as Dean had 10 years so wonder what Sam had, i would not handle that to be honest . If season 7 is confirmed then we will be tearing our hair out knowing Supernatural .

    ReplyDelete
  110. I know, I'm thinking that those pictures were maybe credited to the wrong episode. It wouldn't make sense for them to post pics from a later episode before My Heart Will Go On anyways...

    ReplyDelete
  111. I was thinking the same thing, i this Castiel has absolutely been working with Crowley. A character like Crowley isn't killed off so insignificantly like he was. I think Cas needs him to win against Raphael.

If the two death's include Rufus or Samuel then they are already done, but if one of them is included then i think the second death with be Lisa, which may lead Ben into going in to some sort of training camp for hunters. I know that's a long shot but who knows. If would be cool to see a training camp or base of hunters of the supernatural. Also i would like to see the psychic kid again, preferably on the finally again telling the story. I will be so pissed if Bobby or Castiel die, I dont think that's a good situation for the viewers, people love Bobby and Cas. I mean how many more semi-regular characters are there to lose?

Eve woulndt be an obvious death, she either dies at the end or comes back next season-no shock there.

Also while i cant remeber if Meg is gone for ever i would like to see more of her. Seeing Genevieve in the recent episode was awesome, i love her and Sam together, and love even more that they are together in real life. While i also loved Katie Cassidy as the original, Gen has more chemistry with him.

    ReplyDelete
  112. I am thinking Lisa dies, and Ben sees what is really out there, and maybe in season 7 the brothers take Ben to some training camp or base for Hunters that they discover in the finale, because after you see your mother die from a supernatural monster its hard to go back to a normal life, this would also open Dean up to another romance since this Lisa one has been dragged out and not working.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Thanks for posting all these spoilers, Dahne. I chose the worst time to go on a short holiday and I was worried about how I was going to have to sift through hhours of information, but now they're all in one place. :)

    ReplyDelete
  114. They indeed were credited to the wrong episode, the pics were from episode 17-MY HEART WILL GO ON. Neither Mary nor Ellen will appear in episode 19-MOMMY DEAREST which is the episode with Amber Benson as Lenoir.

    ReplyDelete
  115. No prob. Glad it helps. Did you have a good vacation?

    ReplyDelete
  116. I think Kripke's ending coda will be both brothers dying fighting the latest big bad. He doesn't believe in happy endings. However, that won't be happening this season. All the Supernatural crew are expecting a season 7 or else they would not leave us with such a great big cliffhanger like they are promising.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Yep, very nice. I didn't go far but I like a change, so anywhere is good for me. :)

    ReplyDelete
  118. I think you're right about Lisa and Ben, especially since Jensen Ackles is now talking about there being a more definite, emotional conclusion to his relationship with them. I'm one (in the minority, I guess) who liked the Dean/Lisa/Ben storyline and could have seen them continuing to be a haven for him and Sam somehow.. I'm just a softie, I guess. I'll be sad to see them go. I had a hard time understanding some of the really negative reactions some folks had to Lisa and the whole storyline.

  119. LATEST AUSIELLO SPOILER-

Question: I want a Supernatural scoop! —Julia
Ausiello: You better pray The CW renews the show for a seventh season because “the finale ends on a cliffhanger,” series creator Eric Kripke told TVLine at PaleyFest ’11. “Everyone should be prepared to rip their hair out all summer.” Actually, you might want to start now since, as Kripke adds, “We end [the episode] in the worst possible place for all involved.” Expect the run-up to the big finish to be “pretty mythology-heavy,” says Supe vet Jim Beaver (Bobby). “There are changes in the alliances, and in Castiel’s relationship with the boys and with Bobby.”

With this new spoiler I'm even more convinced that Cas has been working/worked with Crowley and had something to do with soulless Sam. I smell betrayal.

    ReplyDelete
  120. I have a bad feeling about Bobby, if the deaths are unexpected maybe Bobby's head is on the chopping block, unless the unexpected deaths are both Sam and Dean, which would be really weird.

    ReplyDelete
  121. My worry is 'new begining' means a possible lack of Jared and Jensen. I have a bad feeling about Castiel. Bobby I hope does not die but he's like the only one who hasen't. Sam and Dean dying is a little redundant but that probably could happen and be apart of the hair pulling finale. The Mother of All's name is Eve. People keep puting monster afterword, but they never said that. And her name is Eve, I think she might perhaps be the mother of humans too, and death also told the boys to look into souls, as well as sam did not have a soul but was himself sans soul. Maybe MOA is mother of humans and God gave them souls? Also Balthazar said souls were powerful, maybe the boys find out souls have power.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Yeh , i hope both dont die though , do you notice nearly in all the final's one of the brothers always dies and one lives
season 1- episode 22 "Devil's Trap" Dean gets put in a coma at the end of it and the reaper is after him then John sells his soulseason2-episode 21"All Hell breaks loose part 1" Sam dies esposide 22-Dean sells his soul season3-episode 16 "no rest for the wicked " Dean goes to hell . Sam is left aloneSeason 5- episode 22-"Swan song" Sam dies .
I know for def one of them will die , just season 7 has not been confirmed so how knows , but if there is to be a season 7 then thats when it will happen. xx

    ReplyDelete
  123. i'm afraid that one of the death will be, maybe, castiel...and if he'll die, i'll die too..lol

    ReplyDelete
  124. Well a few things seem obvious; not least is the suspicion of Crowley's death. As someone said, too easy, and of course we know Mark Shepard is back for Ep20 The Man Who Would Be King. This is the episode where the Dean/Lisa/Ben issue is meant to be resolved. Also Ep19 Mommy Dearest seems to scream out as the episode where Mary comes back. Since Crowley promised to bring her back for Samuel if Samuel worked for him (which he did) seem likely she is going to pop back up here.

However Mary's soul destroyed itself back in Home so we have to consider what might happen. My theory; Crowley brings her back as promised however she is either soulless like Sam was, or it isn't Mary inside the body. I reckon the boys will be hunting something in Ep19 and near the end find out it is their mom (writers said her return would be uninvited). She will escape, and in the next Ep20 we'll find out Crowley is still at large and brought her back as promised (though once Samuel was gone, just to e a demon like :p). Then either Crowley kills Lisa and Ben since he has 'given' Dean back his 'mother', or else Mary will do it. There's your two unexpected deaths.

Regarding Cas, working with Crowley seems like a good theory, as he was sketchy about hunting Crowley out in Ep10 and Crowley could certainly help him win out. If he is looking back on his life and in particular his time since meeting the Winchesters, it seems likely he will decide they were his problem in the first place, and abandon them to Eve after they find out he was working with Crowley.

  125. If Cas betrays the boys I will cry tears of betrayed rage lol

  126. It's gonna be my first live finale too. I've often tried to put myself in other fans shoes on how it would have felt to watch one of the season finales and not be able to move right to the next episode to find out what happens. Its tough to imagine. I hope this cliffhanger isn't too cruel for my first summer SPN hellatus. But from the sound of things this finale could be much worse than season 1 car crash, season 2 hell's gate, season 3 Dean in hell, season 4 Lucifer unleashed, and season 5 Sam gone but not really.
