Hey Supernatural Fans,
Apologies for the slight tardiness of getting this out. Without Fringe on Friday I kind of forgot about the episode tables. No worries though as it's here now for your viewing pleasures:

'The French Mistake' dropped down a place to third in the second half of last week, and 'And Then There Were None?' slots in as the ninth best episode so far this season.

Wow, I thought this one would be in the top five.
ReplyDeleteWorst!
ReplyDeleteI do not understand that. And Then There Were None? was perfect. My gosh, it was fantastic, to be honest. It should have made the top five. This going to be typical, everyone. The show now has too many exceptional episodes. lol But this one should never be in 9th
ReplyDeleteI wonder if people are just getting more critical as the season goes on. The newness wears off, and people get more grumpy in the winter (at least where I am - looking out the window at a snow/rain mush).
ReplyDeleteI can't say that I'm surprised
ReplyDeleteWay too low in the ratings for my liking, I would definitely put it above 'The Third Man', 'Caged Heat' and 'You Can't Handle the Truth', and possibly even above 'Like a Virgin'. Really loved this episode, it was such a return to the Sam and Dean of old.
ReplyDeleteNO EPISODE THIS SEASON HAS BEEN A 10 FOR ME-MY FAVOURITE 9 EPISODES OF THE SEASON WERE GOOD BUT ALL HAD SOME FLAW WHICH STOPPED THEM FROM BEING PERFECT (I KNOW I'VE NUMBERED THEM BUT I LIKE THESE 9 PRETTY MUCH THE SAME)
ReplyDelete1.THE FRENCH MISTAKE
2.AND THEN THERE WERE NONE
3.UNFORGIVEN
4.CAGED HEAT
5.FAMILY MATTERS
6.LIKE A VIRGIN
7.CLAP YOUR HANDS
8.WEEKEND AT BOBBY'S
9.APPOINTMENT IN SAMARRA
IMO THERE IS A HUGE GULF BETWEEN THE TOP 9 EPISODES AND THE BOTTOM 7-THESE EPISODES WERE EITHER BORING, POORLY WRITTEN/CONCEIVED, SUFFERED PACING ISSUES OR JUST PLAIN RUBBED ME THE WRONG WAY (THESE ARE IN ORDER OF LIKEABILITY)
10.ALL DOGS GO TO HEAVEN
11.YOU CANT HANDLE THE TRUTH
12.MANNEQUIN
13.THE THIRD MAN
14.LIVE FREE
15.TWO AND A HALF MEN
16.EXILE ON MAIN STREET
THIS LIST IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE UPON RE-WATCH OF EPISODES AND OUTCOME OF SEASON
Okay this is not working ahhaah! How can so many people bitch about the third weel and it be SO high up there.... I feel misha's minions lhhahah
ReplyDeletebut if you read all the comments most people LOVED it... remember the beginning of this season had A LOT of haters,
ReplyDelete... CLAPS ON.... sorry I read and I hear shouting in my head... it hurts ahahah.
ReplyDeleteand ahahah I like your : subject to change upon re-watch of episodes.
:DDD
I can vouch for that, as I was one of them! LOL
ReplyDeleteD'you like it better now ?
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely picking up, but I can't say that this has been my favorite season thus far. I know I'm not supposed to pass judgement 'til the end, but something has to be sad about the first half. It's not like we can forget what happens now and revel in the fact that it got better later. I don't know. We'll see what happens.
ReplyDeleteSaid it before: the best episode of S6 so far.
ReplyDeleteAnd The Third Man would be way further down my list.
Assuming you meant The Third Man here? I liked it. I thought the idea of Balthazar selling these biblical weapons and a black market for souls were hilarious. Best moments - Cas' explanation that Balthazar was splitting Moses' staff for "more product" and Balthazar turning Raphael into a pillar of salt. There was also Cas crashing into Sam's car and Cas admitting he liked Dean better. I laughed harder during it than in most episodes this season. It wouldn't make my top five episodes, but I agree with it being somewhere in the middle. But I don't have an anti-angel bias and I liked season 5.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure that seeing it all at once with the dvd will make it better. I mean people were frustrated over sam werdness and duh he had no soul ...
ReplyDeleteAny way I dunno only didnt like Caged heat after a rewatch and thats it. And its mostly cause of the kiss, i hate when they do something out of caracter for a joke
I guess you're right––about seeing it over again and what not.
ReplyDeleteLet's just hope everything is tied in by the end of this season!
yeah . though I'm pretty sure some mistery will continue in season 7, like for s1 and s2. AS LONG as its meant too and its not cause they dont know what the hell to do with the mess they've made NOW that would PISS me off cause i trust the writers haha and sera :P
ReplyDeleteSorry for being slow, but where are these ratings coming from?
ReplyDeleteMy list would be more or less like this:
ReplyDelete1. The French Mistake
2. Appointment in Samarra
3. You Can't Handle the Truth
4. Live Free or Twihard (yes, I actually liked the episode)
5.-9. Caged Heat, Family Matters, The Third Man, And Then There Were None, Clap Your Hands if You Believe
10. Like a Virgin
11.Two and a Half Men
12. Weekend at Bobby's
13. All Dogs Go To Heaven
14.-16. Exile on Main Street, Unforgiven, Mannequin 3
I guess I just have a different taste than most SPN fans...
I liked the episode as well, I don't know why people complain so much about it. It had ones of the best one-liners of the season, introduced Balthazar, who I am currently in love with, had a return of Cas, was fast and had a pretty solid overall storyline. Plus, the gory deaths of those cops were amazing.
ReplyDeleteHahaha I really loved Mannequin 3 so that'd be top five of the season for me, clearly i'm in the minority. Third Man was dreadful and Weekend at Bobbys, i'm sorry but any episode where there's hardly any Sam and Dean goes way way down my list. Even if i do like Bobby. No, just NO.
ReplyDeleteI am literally in shock that And Then There Were None is rated that low..... It was my personal favorite of Season Six and according to most people I have read or talked to.... in the top 3 of the year without doubt. SHOCK!
ReplyDeleteI agree with your split almost exactly, other than I would add Unforgiven to the bottom half.
ReplyDeleteI am frothing mad that it didn't vault over The Third Man. I have nothing but disdain for TTM and nothing but love for ...And Then There Were None.
ReplyDeleteI agree for the most part EXCEPT: I really enjoyed You Can't Handle the Truth and thought that All Dogs, Live Free and Two and a Half Men were enjoyable, if a little mediocre. (Not in the top pile, but I wouldn't put them in with Mannequin, The Third Man and Exile on Main st.) I agree with all the rest, though.
ReplyDeleteNo way this episode should be so low. How the heck is the Third Man up so high anyway?
ReplyDeleteThey are the results of the What Did You think of.....polls that appear on SpoilerTV right after the episode airs.
ReplyDeleteTop Season 6 Episodes (alpha order) - And Then There Were None, Appointment in Samarra, Caged Heat, Exile on Main St., Family Matters, Weekend at Bobby's
ReplyDeleteMiddle (alpha order) - French Mistake, Like a Virgin, 2.5 Men, You Can't Handle the Truth
Bottom Season 6 Episodes (alpha order) - All Dogs Go to Heaven, Clap Your Hands if You Believe, Live Free or Twihard, Mannequin 3, Third Man, Unforgiven
this should deffinately be much higher up
ReplyDeleteespecially above the third man and you can't handle the truth
it was just so awesome
also, i just noticed that exile on main street is at the bottom
i don't think it was the worst this season
it should deff be higher up, even just one or 2 spots
My order would be pretty close to this, except that I would move up And Then There Were None and Caged Heat up to the top level and move down Clap Your Hands to Mediocre.
ReplyDeleteThis is more like it.
ReplyDeleteHere's where season 6 stands so far for me:
ReplyDeleteExcellent:
1 Family Matters
2 Caged Heat
3 Weekend At Bobby's
Great:
4 You Can't Handle The Truth
5 ...And Then There Were None
6 The French Mistake
Ok:
7 Appointment in Samarra (I felt like this episode could've been 10000x better, having Death and all...)
Mediocre:
8 Like A Virgin
9 Unforgiven
10 Exile On Main Street
11 All Dogs Go To Heaven
12 Two And a Half Men
13 Mannequin 3: The Reckoning
14 Live Free or Twihard
Unforgivable/Mythology-ruining/Godawful Writing...
15 Clap Your Hands if You Believe (Would've been so much higher if this Elf universe hadn't been added to the mythology...)
16 The Third Man (After the opening scene, this episode was almost unwatchable for the awful effects, the extremely weird pacing, and bad writing...)
@tvmonkey I agree with the way you have them broken up into 2 different categories. I also think your description of those categories is spot on. My rankings are similar. Although Caged Heat was pretty close to perfection for me. I really loved that episode start to finish and it's probably my most watched episode this season.
ReplyDeleteCaged Heat
Family Matters
...And Then There Where None
The French Mistake
Unforgiven
Clap Your Hands If You Believe
Appointment In Samarra
Weekend At Bobby's
Like A Virgin
You Can't Handle The Truth
The Third Man
Live Free Or Twi-Hard
Two And A Half Men
All Dogs Go To Heaven
Exile On Main Street
Mannequin 3: The Reckoning
I completely agree about CYHiYB. Adding the fairy world and implying that they were more powerful than anything else the Winchesters have encountered was what made it so low for me. Thankfully we haven't revisited this idea before. I hope season 7 doesn't go there.
ReplyDeleteI disagree about your overall opinion of season 6 though. Yes, compared to season 4, it's uneven and somewhat slow, but compared to season 5, I've really enjoyed it. By this time in season 5, there were 4 episodes that make my top 15 worst episodes of all time and several I considered subpar. Comparatively, this season has 1 truly awful episode and 3 that were boring. I think for me the highs for this season so far have been really high (like you), where the lows mostly were just meh. That pushes it to the favorable for me. That and the fact that I have far more episodes in the top 30 this season than last year.
