Supernatural - Episode 6.12 - Like a Virgin - Favorite Scene Poll

12 Mar 2011

So, we've hit a short hiatus which means no "What Did You Think..." polls until a new episode airs. However, I don't like the idea of not talking about Supernatural until April, so I thought we could talk about our favorite scene after a rerun airs. Feel free to add favorite lines, etc. in the comments. Also add if your opinion of the episode has changed at all.

Before the poll though, here are the results of the fan poll we did earlier asking Supernatural fans what gender and age they were. Thanks to everyone who participated!

Female = 84% and male = 16%. There were 1,274 votes placed. I guess that stereotype is true - that most of the online, vocal fans are female. Makes me appreciate our vocal male fans even more. I would say that there are plenty Supernatural male fans who may be intimidated by the fringe ultracrazy part of SPN fandom. They scare me too!

The age poll was more interesting to me. We had 1600 people vote. In the end it broke down like this:

20-29 years old = 45%
13-19 years old = 20%
30-39 years old = 17%
40-49 = 12%
50-59 = 4%
60-69 = 1%
70-79, over 79, and under 12 = less than 1% each

Now on to the poll, what was your favorite part of Like a Virgin? PICK TWO!!!

  1. So, now that we are in hiatus, it's time to look back on your favorite season 6 scenes. I made this a pick two because I had the feeling the brother hug would trounce all if I didn't.

My favorite line was when the dragon man asked where Dean got the sword and he replied "Comic Con". But it was really close with the idea of sending Death a fruit basket. Both make me laugh every time.

As for the episode, I think I like it a smidge less than when it first aired now that the ire of the CW has cooled just a bit. I still really enjoy it but it lands squarely in the middle of season 6 episodes for me. Loved getting Sam back (although I do miss you Robosam) but the dragon plot fell a bit flat for me adn there wasn't enough of the Mother to make an impression.

  2. I was so caught between Dean versus the sword and the Hug.

  3. For my two choices I of course picked the hug and then I chose Dean and Sam talk about Sam's soul. I chose the talk because it was so touching watching Sam and Dean be brothers again. Dean was being very protective of Sam and telling him he did not want to scratch that wall. I love protective big brother Dean. I did love the sword scene but I was glad to see Sam and Dean being brothers again.

  4. It would only let me pick one, but I went with Dean vs. the sword. the music alone was enough to make me laugh out loud again! Of course, my new question to anyone giving me a weird look is now "What's with the poop-face?" My husband has been warned. :)

  5. I'm so predictable: Saint Dean versus the sword. Epic music. Awesome acting - Dean so sure of himself, and then falling off the rock.

And of course the hug - a real Winchester hug - not a plastic imitation a la Exile On Main Street.

Need to think about my favorite lines.

  6. Dean vs the sword- we get a nice light fun bit with Dean - love the goofy faces he pulls trying to pull the sword from the stone

  7. Thought about it:

    Sam: You know, it's comforting.
    Dean: What's that?
Sam: I died for a year, came back, and you're still not funny.
    Dean: Shut up, I'm hilarious.

    Brother banter.

    At last.

  8. So was I so I chose both. One was the funniest scene (still laughing thinking about it) and the other was the biggest Aaaww! That hug was well-overdue.

  9. Sorry. It should be fixed now. If anyone else has problems, please let me know.

  10. The "I'm hilarious" line reminded me of the "I think it's 'cause we're so awesome" line in Jus in Bello - an all time clasic! I think it was the delivery.

  11. Oh, and I forgot to say: thank you for this - it's been a very long week with very little SPN to talk about. Only another 4 to go *sobs hysterically*

  12. I was thinking the same thing! I desperately wanted to talk about SPN!

  15. oh, and my fave line of the episode was dean "you rocks think you're so smart. welcome to the 21st century"

but, there were lots of great ones that other people before me have already mentioned

  16. Oh and it reminds me of: 'I think I'm adorable' from Folsom Prison Blues.

  17. The hug scene forever and ever! Winchester hugs are always awesome!

Now if they'd just tell each other they love each other once. (Drugged!Sam sorta counts in Sam, Interrupted.)

  18. Sorry, but there's five more weeks left before April 15 (or four weeks and six days now).

  19. While I loved Dean versus the sword scene the ((HUG)) was the best for me. It's what its all about.

  20. My two favorite scenes were the ones most voted on-the reunion hug between the brothers and the sword scene with Dean. All of the scenes were fantastic, so it is hard to choose just two of them. Love this show!

  21. dean trying to get the sword out of that stone... it made me laughing so I was gasping for air)))

  22. It reminded me of "I'm a joy to be around" from Tall Tales ;)

  23. Definitely the hug and Dean vs the sword. Also liked Bobby deciphering the purgatory book and the rise of Mother of All, but for me it's more like a one scene.

  24. THE HUG
and the scene where Sam tricked Cas. Once again JARED was aweessssssomme

  25. I think that,s my fav line from dean EVER lol. Used it for like a month after this

  26. Whatever.
    It's all just too long......

  27. Shoot! I didnt see the dean and sword part, I would have voted for that!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Yeah it was hilarious and the heroic music was great, poor Dean kept thinking he'll be able to pull it out!

  29. I was watching clips from a recent Supernatural convention and came across a clip where Jensen talks about the shooting of the sword scene. I am fairly new to this stuff, but I will try to attach the link. Start at about 4 minutes in. The clip is from JensAngel1.
