Predictable in spots but it was a fun episode the questions I have now is what happened to Chad? Where did Hobbes run off too? And where was Joshua at the end? Did he get blissed as well? I hope we get a third season.
OMG that was pretty amazing. They managed to do the equivalent of destroy the world in one episode, crushing the entire fifth column, killing three main protagonists and rendering three others useless. From the beginning 'til the end, I was on the edge of my seat! I cannot wait until this show comes back, for it must come back after great writing like that.
The first half was just ok, but the second half was fantastic. The global bliss was epic (not as much as the start of red sky though), and there were many great cliffhangers. Tyler died, which is awesome, and if we get a third season, I can't wait for Erica's reaction.
I'm not sure what to think. The components themselves were certainly awesome, with major things happening, like the deaths, project aries, etc. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time! But that's the problem. I was always on the edge! There was no resolution whatsoever. We build up the entire season trying to stop Anna's breeding plan, and in the end, she succeeds and kills Tyler in the process. That's not very satisfying. Maybe give us a little resolution? SOMETHING? They must be pretty confident in a season 3 to go out like that.
Are you joking? This is my favorite, and show and if I was an ABC executive, and I wouldn't even renew it after that episode. It is horrible, everybody in the world except project Eries is under Anna's control, they could destroy them in the blink of an eye, how could there be another season?
I loved it. Just very surprised that they made the show advance to the point of making it be very unlikely that they could ever resuscitate it even it they wanted to. I think they left anything you were wondering about to your personal imagination (if there is never another 'new' season) ...and maybe the writers could concoct some fantastic way to recover humanity if there is a new season (somehow...miraculously)
Except for Bliss ending I loved it.I am so happy Lisa survived. This Is not the ending they would have come up with for a series finale. We need to know where they will go next.
It wasn't that the writers were confident for a third season, they were planning for 22 episodes this year and were told at the last minute they were only getting 10 (and they only got 13 ordered), so the EP decided that since he couldn't wrap the story up with the time left, he would go all out for the season finale.
Issues I had: First off Hobbs is a merc that s in hiding/on the run and when Erica gasped and sat up he did not wake up IMMEDIATELY gun in hand. Maybe he took an Ambien I guess....
They plan this entire plot out to the smallest detail and leave glass or a mirror in the one spot it would be to Anna's advantage? And seriously... do you put the pivotal killshhot role on your most tenuously loyal conspiracy member?
Loathed how the entire season they build up Diana and then toss her aside with no more than a flick of the tail.
I hate the tail. The special effects, the size of it materializing out of nowhere... where would Anna hide that in her outfits exactly? The new Queen Egg hatches and the body is just odd shaped to be concealed by only "flesh". They would have to shave off the lower torso or compress it to hide it in tight skirts or pants. Did not work for me.
The writing and music seemed to be forced tonight. It seemed like they knew the writing was weak so they amped up the music to try to cover their asses. For me it did not work and in fact had the opposite effect.
I really did not like that they waited until the finale to reveal that Kendrick and Bolling as anti-V. IT just felt wrong. Erica had proven herself many, many times prior and both characters would have known they could use her much, much earlier.
The bliss ending was just awful.
Things I did like: Anna had some great lines and great attitude in the episode. It was a pleasant shock to see Amy kill Ryan so visciously!
Awesome to see Tyler die.
Original V star Marc Singer returning to the series was awesome.
This was the worst episode of the season for me and a very unfortunate finale. They build everything up this season and then ... they basically erase everything they accomplished this season with one episode. Ok they stack the odds against the resistance and it makes for an exciting Season Three, but at what cost? They kill one of the best characters to come along since the series began (Diana) and they undo everything they did this year with one global bliss from a child. I assume they know they are renewed or the finale is made even worse by its open ending. If it is renewed Season Three is set up with an entirely new premise, a new resistance group versus a more powerful enemy who now controls almost every human on the planet. Why reboot the series that way? It seems even riskier than the chances of renewal itself.
The bliss was the wrong move on so many levels. It sets up Amy as all-powerful, but she now needs to be killed. If she is so powerful how ill they be able to kill her without it seeming hollow? Facing bad odds is one thing but overcoming the entire population is something entirely different.
I thought they knew it was cut back to 13 (and then to 10) before they started filming the season.... or at least long before they were filming the last part of the season.
It did totally have the feel of a VERY hastily put together episode. They had an end goal in mind, lost 3 episodes or more , and haphazardly tossed together one episode to still accomplish their end goal. Not caring one iota that it moved way too fast for the pace of the season.
And obviously Lisa does not watch The Big Bang Theory or she would know .... whenever anyone pats you on the back during a hug and says "There, there", it is not done out of sympathy or love.
I quite agree with much of this. I wanted to like this show, but it has gotten predictable and forgettable in my opinion. The only mystery i have about this show is how those alien queens get those big asses in those sexy human "skins".
Lisa lived Joshua lived Jay Karnes returned (and possible return if there is a Season 3) Tyler died Anna's lines towards Lisa
Things that annoyed me:
Weak way for Ryan to die Lisa imprisoned Ryan's daughter seemingly way more powerful than Anna
There has to be a season 3, tell them out front its final season, give them a full order so they have plenty of time to finish it up right so the writers aren't worried about being canceled or not and just go out with a bang.
How I see the next season goes - Amy overpowers Anna. In the traditions of the Vs, Lisa 2 want to takeover Anna's place to be queen. So the 2 join forces to take over. Anna accepts her emotions, release Lisa 1, and work with Marcus, Joshua, and Chad (if they even wanna bring him back) to escape, then join force with Project Ares to fight Lisa 2 and Amy.
1) Exactly how they (the V) brought back Marcus and Joshua from the dead, Joshua will do the same with tyler and the ex queen (if needed in the plot) with the help of marcus freeing them with Lisa 1 (maybe with theyr sacrifice)
2) Lisa1+Tyler will build the counter army of the humanity, so it will be Original V vs Human+V
3) Ryan will stay dead (it was a no-no char form the start to me) or it will be a sacrifice like i pointed out in number 1.
4) Hobbes run cause he got "his" price the woman he was searching for, cause it was him who help anna in the discovery of Chad vith the voice analysis. He will rejoin Team Human with some addition his child with the woman, who was an Hybrid too, and it will be the new commander on the field of the resistance.
5) Chad will be blissed on the ship to be used to try to convince the "not blissed" as an infiltrate how was ryan last season.
6) The human bliss will last only few moments cause ot the weakness of Amy (too young) and Anna (cause she was infected with human emotion)
6) Project aries the only way they can "compete" is with a mystery weapon or the army from Lisa 1.
just finished watching the episode & even though I had the least of expectations about this episode, I ended up being more less impressed .. & what infuriates me more is how these two FBI agents knew all along about the Visitors made all the 5th C fights much more worthless. Don't they keep talking about Erica being their best agent & I suppose she wasn't a new addition to the department when S1 started, so why the wait to tell her? I find that very very bad addition.. & What's with the kidnapping of Erica to tell her THE TRUTH. Really? AND Hobbes leaving ??? So much for a finale =(
but relax, I'm not all disappointed. Just like last year's season finale, Morena OWNED every scene she delivered. That woman have so much strength that I was really scared of her. I knew that she would come to realize how she can use the human emotion to her advantage, and the scene with her daughter in the warehouse was a spot on. The Lisa look alike is another OMG moment! that was real mental!
I wasn't shocked by Ryan & Tylor deaths but a lil with Diana's .. that was merciless =( but it was all predictable. still I feel I was less satisfied by the ending, V had more shocking scene than this & they didn't really get any WOW reaction out of me after the episode, which is so disappointing!
Overall, I believe S1 finale was a lot more satisfying than this year, even some of this season episodes are much better than this. & Now, I definitely want a S3 to know the fate of Hobbes and Chad & how this Project Aries will 'fight' Vs.
I'm glad to see someone else had issues with the music.I absolutely could NOT hear parts of the dialog because the music was too loud. Thought my hearing was going.
No it was much more 'forward' this episode. I thought they were trying to force tension and drama into poorly written material, but maybe I am over-analyzing it.
Morena did own every scene without doubt! I think she was helped by the fact she was the only character to truly stay in their personal story arc. Her plot seemed seamless to me this season, but everyone else's seemed disjointed and tossed together in this finale.
I thought it was really bad. You have an actress like Jane Badler aboard that can really boost this show and what do you do? You keep her in a basement for the entire season. And when she finally gets something to do, she gets killed off. Why? Just to emphasize that Anna is vicious and evil? That was already established. Anyway, Diana was a promising character that unfortunately made zero impact on this season. It went absolutely nowhere. That kind of speaks for the entire season. With very few exceptions all characters were so incredibly flat, I stopped caring about all of them. Chad? Didn't make any difference to this show. You could have left him out and no one would have noticed. Same goes for Kyle, what did he do? Deliver a few incredibly corny oneliners and was forced to blow up a building. And all of a sudden, he is just gone. Ryan? Tried to save his daughter the entire season and when he finally got a chance to save her, she simply broke his neck. End of his story. Why the build-up if you serve your viewers with such non-climax ending for these characters. It was good to see Marc Singer, but his introduction and that operation he was part of seemed incredibly rushed. And let's not even begin with the bliss-nonsense...
I stuck with this show because of the original series of which I've been a huge fan. I loved the first few episodes of this new series. So much potential... Too bad they really, really killed it. I can not imagine ABC renewing this for another season.
I thought that the finale blew chunks. It was that bad. All I got from it was that it was put together too fast, even though they knew it might not get renewed for a 3rd season they did not resolve everything, the disappearance of Hodges was never explained, and they spent a total of less than 5 minutes introducing Project Ares, and from the last few scenes it seems like the Vistors won. Why introduce the secret agency to fight off the V's if they make it look like the V's won?? The show sucked, the finale really sucked, but I still enjoyed watching it, though!
I VOTED AWEFUL! yeah cause I DID love it haha, BUT FUCH THAT they killed Tyler, now now I know that he will PROBABLY be back cause who hasnt died and came back on that show (omg spn LOL any way...) ARGH yeah so I'm pissed off LOL so awesome ep hahahha :DDD
BUT we prob WONT get a season 3 so I just wanna cry and hate on everything
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
well that was pretty awesome
ReplyDeletebut risky, too considering the bad ratings...
holy crap V knows how to do finales first red sky now this. "now thats how you kill your mother", that line just wow
ReplyDeleteDing dong the dummy's dead...
ReplyDeletePredictable in spots but it was a fun episode the questions I have now is what happened to Chad? Where did Hobbes run off too? And where was Joshua at the end? Did he get blissed as well? I hope we get a third season.

ReplyDelete"Now THAT's how you kill your mother." Oh Lisa.
