Decent cast doing a good job with okay material is my first impression. And yet I think it has promise.....
The pace seems fast, maybe a little too fast, but pilots can be that way so it is a little too early to judge. It is cliche, but it is still entertaining enough to overcome that. I have some fears that this could turn into one of those "even if these are the 'best of the best' at what they do, why are the local cops so inept" shows.... Having talents or being a savant in your field is one thing, but some of their insights so far seem to be skills anyone could have... includin the local L.E.O.s.
The comic timing of Lloyd is awesome. The snarls of Ray and Charlie work well and the "good cop/ badass cop" dynamic between them is beleivable and well done. I think the other characters all need fleshing out, but they do have some potential.....
Overall it was just "okay" to me but it earned at least a few more weeks on my DVR.
I actually had very low expectations for this show due to corny promos and advertising but I stand corrected. It was actually watchable and I didn't regret dedicating 43 minutes to watching it. May actually watch it on regular basis now not just because of upcoming T-Bag episodes. (They should open the charatcer pasts up a bit more)
I agree. The Ray/Charlie dynamic was good but what I didn't like was for a moment it seemed like they tried to re-do C-Note/T-Bag racial beef storyline with Shea and Lloyd.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
