Someone pay extra to the guy who names the episodes. Can't believe 4 worlds would make me shake with excitement! http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=137291516340511
These titles sure don't seem good. If Sam Weiss could be looked at like a guardian who ensures the device is eventually used, it looks like the cycle of creation and destruction might be ending (along with the show).
But perhaps they all die and then come back? Sorry for the stream of consciousness. This is just, in a word. Upsetting.
Let's analyze the context. "The Day We Died". The verb "Died" is telling everything. It means that the ones talking are alive and watching or something when they die. Any thoughts? I do have. Our characters are going to travel to the future. Dont think anything that any of our characters are gonna die. In FRINGE, nothing is what it looks.
I guees with the title "The Last Sam Weiss" they're talking about the last of the First People. I hope that my mind will be blown with those last 4 episodes of the season!!!! :D!
Yep it'll be a flash forward, like in lost season 3, or they will time-travel to the future and see the possible futures, through the eyes of the observer. but it definitely makes me nervous, and giddy at the same time. I love time-travel. it's so deliciously confusing, but fun to untangle.
I'm thinking "The Day We Died" could be from the perspective of Sam Weiss. As in, the day his people died. He could claim that some of him "died with them" kind of thing. Or Something.
...or as someone mentioned in another comment, maybe "The Last Sam Weiss" Refers to him being the only version of Sam Weiss left in any of the multi-verses (of which the focus is now on only the two {RED and BLUE}), and that he is the last of the "first people" thus making the second part of the finale "The Day we Died" a Sam Weiss centric, focusing on his backstory, (telling what happened to all the other Alternate Sam Weisses) and bringing to light more on the "first people" setting up next season with a whole new plot, delving deeper into the mythos of the show.
Was it you who made a comment a few days ago saying that they will probably destroy the red universe at the end of this season, wrapping up that plot thread, to focus more on the "first people"? If so then I totally agree. If not then what do you think of this theory?
Oh! I much prefer that idea (the one about him being the last of the alternate Sam Weiss') to mine!
As for the destruction of the universes, I hope they don't destroy over there this season. It has lead to some of the very best episodes of Fringe! Unless we get other alternaverses to enjoy, I'm not a fan of the idea. Still, I definitely think that it has a decent chance of happening.
Weird, when I responded via e-mail, the last part of my comment (and the most important part of course :P) didn't make it:
On the other hand, it might be fun if they destroyed over here. Lol, that would be INSANE and yet awesome. It could also account for the title "The Day We Died," where We is all of us over here.
Well Sam Weiss is one of the first people... they told us that since the beginning of the third season... and they told us not to trust him in the anagram so... interesting.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
omg.. the day we died. OH MY GOOOD.
ReplyDelete(and we still don't know the title for 3.20)
HOLY CRAP!
ReplyDelete3.22 = Not funny. :( I hope that's not literal, on screen or off.
ReplyDeleteRight, so, freaking out about 3.22 aside, 3.21.... The Last Sam Weiss? VERY interesting XD. Wonder what that could mean.

OMFG Those titles do nothing positive to my hopes for a 4th season
ReplyDeleteI just had the same exact cringe I had when you revealed the title for Lost season six episode "What they Died for". Fringe Cringe!
ReplyDelete"The Day We Died" ...hmm
ReplyDeleteMy guess is, it's either about the day the First People died (went extinct) and we find out about what happened to them OR the finalé is about the day the 2 universes die and everything moves on to 3rd universe or sth..
I like that... hehe maybe it the day we dyed and the all went blond
ReplyDeleteThe Last Sam Weiss. would the Sam Weiss we know be a shapeshifter and Peter Kills Him
ReplyDeleteI thought the exact same thing!
ReplyDeleteOr Sam Weiss isn't so much a person, as an identity.
ReplyDeleteCould be the last in a long line of Sam Weisses, like if he is the last descendant of the First People (i.e. Seamus Wiles).
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking more along the lines of, this is the last living iteration of Sam Weiss in all of the existing universes.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't like that too much, because it would be too much like the Protector of the Island on Lost.

YOU'RE KILLING ME FRINGE.
ReplyDeleteOh my god... this is so intriguing! Can't wait until we see what all this is about.
ReplyDeleteoh noooo,,,,amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteTHE Season end title kind-a creeps me out....
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what they want us to feel.
ReplyDeletethis!

I know... ^^;
ReplyDeleteI skipped a heartbeat when I read that. I'm scared.

They've been hinting at their deaths since season one. Olivia when she collapses does so in the xact same manner ever time (s2 ep, s3 ep1)

Yeah but are you ready to loose Broyles for good? And not to mention fun Walter!
ReplyDeleteWith these titles, Fringe deserves another season alright :3 so happy
