Is it just me, or is The Event easy to forget about? I don't mean that in a negative way, but more like "I keep forgetting how good the show is?" Every week from when it first aired up until it's Winter break, I felt like I was watching it for the first time all over again, forgetting that I got sucked into the previous week's episode.
Now as I watch the two latest episodes, I can't help but have that feeling again. For all intents and purposes, The Event really is better than most dramas on TV right now, and though I haven't followed it's progress religiously like I did with LOST, I do get the feeling that the writers have a master plan for it that they're actually going to stick to. I hope that is the case, because it is hard convincing myself to go through the ups and downs with another TV show when it could be canceled or the writing staff decides to take the story in a completely different direction.
I do know that I will be sticking with The Event for the remainder of the first season, and am hopeful that it will continue to stay as good as it has, but it is a bit difficult for me to remind myself to watch it as it seems I almost forget about it until it's newest episode airs.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

I tend to agree, I enjoy the show, but it's certainly not a "must
ReplyDeletewatch at all costs" show like Lost was.
