Yay!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Em!!! :D
ReplyDeleteI guess episode 7.01 will be called "The Bump in the Background"?
ReplyDeletegod I chocked on my food AHAHHA! trying to kill me :P I hope they work it out ahahaha, congrats to her:P
ReplyDeleteGreat for Emily, potentially BAD for Bones. When a pregnancy is written into a show, the main love interest, in this case Booth, is very rarely ever the actual father. Especially if they've never been together before and they don't have enough time to write in a sexual encounter to give a reason for it.
ReplyDeleteThe problem is that to explain Brennan's pregnancy on the show, either Booth and Brennan need to have sex sometime soon, or the writers are going to take the drama-filled path and have Brennan get pregnant from someone else. In my opinion, that would ruin the show.
Of course, directors are getting exceedingly good at hiding the bump these days through crafty camerawork, so they might avoid it entirely.
But here's the thing: Hart Hanson is evil. He'll try to work it into the show somehow, I have no doubt about that.
So we're left with two possible outcomes: Pregnancy from Booth or from some other guy. The first would be interesting, the second would make a lot of the shippers extremely unhappy with a tv show that is already pushing its luck.
Congratulations to Emily, but now I'm worried about the show itself.
I dare say you might be wrong; Brennan is decidedly casual in her attitude towards sex. They can introduce just about anyone to be the father. In fact, season 7.0 could even be a whittling process to set up baby daddy in 7.5.
ReplyDeleteAnd here I thought all the FOX girls had the gillian anderson contract; '' It wasn't in my contract not to get pregnant, but it is now.''
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's the problem. They've been pushing back anything sexual happening between Booth and Brennan since the show began. If they had plans to hold it off even longer, then they might not want to change those plans to make Booth the baby's father, which means they'll introduce a new character as a father.
ReplyDeleteAnd THAT would make a lot of the fans, who are already getting tired of all the delays, very unhappy. Not just because Brennan had a child with another guy, but because the Booth and Brennan relationship would be delayed A LOT longer to accommodate it. The show would lose a ton of viewers.
They could have her use Booth's frozen sperm. Afaik the sample he gave was never destroyed.
ReplyDeleteWow, whaddya know... Rickety Cricket's a fertile lil bugger. :P
ReplyDeleteI'm happy for Emily, but worried about the show now. I mean of course they can have Booth and Brennan get together in the season finale and have season 7 start like several months after and they discover Brennan is pregnant, but i may seem rushed. I just don't want Bones to get the same fate that my other favorite show, Alias got back when Jennifer Garner got pregnant.
ReplyDeleteCorrect, but they'd need to write that in somehow. Brennan hasn't shown ANY further interest in having a child, and making her suddenly decide to use the sperm in a single episode would be terrible pacing. It would need to be done next season, but who knows how far she'll be into her pregnancy when they start shooting? They have a very short amount of time to write in a pregnancy that won't end up alienating the show's fans.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I think Baby's are the equivalent of show cancer, they've covered this with Brennan mentioning she wanted a Baby last year.
ReplyDeleteThere are other ways than sex to have a child.
Everyone knew this would happen
ReplyDeletehow?
ReplyDeleteget on it writers, Tempe's gotta get preggers ASAP!!
ReplyDeletePERHAPS you are all underestimating the cast and crew. I have a feeling that provided she just got married they would take into consideration she might get pregnant. They probably discussed it months ago that if she and her husband wanted to get pregnant that they were already planning on making bones pregnant. It's completely possible that they prepared for this by writing the story and then emily, with a new freedom to start a family just followed suit. If that is the case im sad the surprise is ruined=]
ReplyDeleteOkay I knew this was gonna happen, I guess "I have a fifth sense" :P
ReplyDelete:) YAYAYY! That baby is going to be so goddamn cute!!
ReplyDeleteLOL, TBH, I Googled her half an hour before the news came out because of pictures a few weeks earlier where she looked pregnant. And lo and behold, pregnancy news came out when I was in history class!
ReplyDeleteNice goin', Rickety Cricket.
ReplyDeleteAt this time next year, we'll have a little one of these crawling around...

Imagine Brennan bringing back the DANCING PHALANGES!!
ReplyDeleteDon't we all, barring Deafness and Blindness, that is. I think you meant 6th sense.
ReplyDeleteIt's a joke, from Mean Girls
ReplyDeleteGuess the Jokes on me. Never saw it.
ReplyDeleteI thought I spotted a bunch in the Blizzard episode. Congrats to her and David H
ReplyDeleteThis news seems to fit with the title of the season finale!!! Coincidence?!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Emily!!!! As for those who are worried about the show, I defenitely believe that Hart Hanson will find a way to make it part of the show without disappointing the fans...!
ReplyDeleteIt would certainly be amazing to see Brennan pregnant from Booth or Booth's sperm and personally I believe they will make Brennan get the feeling for a baby when she comes up with Angela's baby...! ;)
