Have Viewers Seen the Last of TV’s Most-Watched Comedy? | If you don’t mind a second viewing of double entendres, no. At last count, CBS has Two and a Half Men repeats (which happen to perform very, very well in the ratings) scheduled through at least the end of March, and likely beyond. And as for any fresh episodes being unfurled in the fall, it’s not looking good. Chances are the series finale aired last week.

Noooooooooooooooo :'(
ReplyDeleteWhy don't they just replace Charlie Sheen for next season?
ReplyDeleteI absolutely do not care about this show. I only watched a few episodes and wasn't impressed by it.
ReplyDeleteBut I don't think the show can work without Sheen. Cryer is a nice guy, but he can't carry a show.
Lorre doesn't want to do that.
ReplyDeleteI don't watch the show, but I feel sorry for the fans if it ends this way. Sheen may be funny, but he sounds like a real d*ck
ReplyDeleteI don't think they can work it without Sheen, but I think they should have tried to do so for the rest of this season. The cast and crew would have gotten paid this year and still been able to line up jobs for next season.
ReplyDeleteSheen needs to be taught a lesson. He does incredibly dumbass stuff all the time and they kept throwing money at him. I wonder how he'll react if he loses that money. I mean, with his reputation right now, if this show ends it is HIGHLY unlikely he'll find another job in the business.
ReplyDeleteWell it's a shame I liked it... And how can CBS be stupid enough to kill one of its cash cows? Reruns do better than many new episodes of other shows. People don't care how majorly stupid Sheen is, why should the network? Proof they are dumber than their average public.
ReplyDeleteVery simple. Put The Big Bang Theory in the 9PM Monday slot next season and give up trying to make another comedy block. BBT was actually beating 2 1/2 in the ratings by the end of the 2009-2010 season, and there was only a .4 difference in the two, and 2 1/2 doesn't have to run in the 8PM hour against American Idol.
ReplyDeleteTime for CBS to cut bait and run.
Here's an article about production on the show being halted...

Are you kidding? Sheen bring sin $150 million a year in revenue for CBS... he will be hired by another network and get a new show where he will gt paid more than the $1.2 million he got on Two and A Half Men. Let's just hope whatever network does hire him has morality clauses in his contract... STUPID CBS....
ReplyDeleteYou're right. I forgot that most networks don't have integrity. ;)
ReplyDeleteI see your point, gotta remember though it's human beings that have to work on the show every day, in the crew and production team etc, and the network will want to keep all of those valuable workers on their side. I'd be seriously questioning my loyalty if my boss happily exposed me to a guy who has gone batshit insane and pointed an awful lot of hate and threats in my direction, and i think the network is doing the right thing by suspending and possible cancelling the show.
ReplyDeleteThis is one situation where the network appears to in fact be thinking of their people and *not* favouring money, and i think that's due respect.
I never watched the show, but i am finding Sheens completely bonkers interviews to be highly amusing, so there's that. Flaming fists of fire indeed! Lmao!
ReplyDeleteTotally would have respected them if they had outright fired Charlie and kept the show going for the season. Write in that Charlie went to rehab or was hired by some Euro firm to do music and moved out... hell, kill him off and have Alan inherit his house and money even. That would have kept the crew (the people that need their job) working for the season and they could find new jobs for next year's pilot season. This seems like Chuck Lorre wanting to make a point to Sheen at everyone's expense...
ReplyDeleteWhat do you want to bet the next show he does is a reality show on his life? I mean, networks and shows will be so wary of him for a while, but a reality show actually *requires* him to be bonkers for it to be interesting, so it's perfect.
ReplyDeleteRadar online reported he has already talked to HBO (though no one can confirm it officially since he is under contract with CBS) for a new show that would pay him $5 million an episode. Maybe just smoke and mirros....
ReplyDeleteYes possibly, so hard to tell what is going on behind the scenes in these situations. I guess all we know is Charlie Sheen is freaking angry about something and is slightly unhinged so it's all leaking out. You never know, maybe the network would refuse to continue the show w/out the main star due to fears of lost money so they said you keep going with him or you cancel.
ReplyDeleteReal pity there wasn't a way to keep it going for the cast/crew, agreed.
Yup, and Ausiello says the HBO thing is most likely fake.
ReplyDeleteNah, HBO denied it already: http://www.popeater.com/2011/02/25/charlie-sheen-hbo-show/
ReplyDeleteLike I said maybe its smoke and mirrors or like RADAR said that they cannot confirm it for legal reasons while he is under contract. Regardless, he will be picked up by someone in the next year or two assuming he does not spiral further down the rabbit hole.... and that is a big IF!
ReplyDeleteAh i getcha. Well heck i am enjoying the madness and he comes up with the best quotes, you couldn't write that stuff, i hope he doesn't fizzle out too soon! :P
ReplyDeleteI can't see Sheen on an HBO show.
ReplyDeleteNo doubt. I enjoy the show but this insight into the batshit crazy minds of TV executives is funny.... and who doesn't love a good "pound into earthworms" joke? IT just seems so simple to write him of and try to salvage the anchor of your network comedy night for the past 5 years or more. I am not sure it would work honestly, but it would provide closure to one of the most watched sitcoms in history, give the crew paychecks for the TV season, and if Spin City can hire Charlie to replace MJ Fox.... who knows how well a retooled series would do.
ReplyDeleteI can't either.
ReplyDeleteWait, hiring Sheen to be the star of your low quality sitcom has negative consequences? YOU DON'T FUCKING SAY.
ReplyDeletei heard they are cancelling the season.... and the deteriorating relationship between chuck lorre and charlie sheen, it may be the end!!
ReplyDeleteseriously, they pay charlie too much... and he spends it all living exactly like the character he plays in the show
fucking charlie sheen....i love that show
ReplyDeleteThank god. This show makes my ears bleed.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rodders.
