  1. LOL, Charlie. It's your own fault. You pushed, and looked what happened!

  2. If there was any justice, it would be done for the series.

  3. As much as I'd like to see him get what's coming to him, something in the back of my brain keeps saying that it's all a work; but anyway he'll be back once CBS apologizes and gives him another raise.

  4. Dumbf*ck.
But does it really matter? He's the richest guy on tv anyway.
    ...Oh wait... ;)

  5. Oh, I think he's too far gone for this. And why would CBS apologize? They're in the right here. I doubt they will.

  6. Why are they in the right? Even at his worst it never affected his work. Like him or not, he did his job. Bad mouthing an executive or your boss is not unheard of, but even if it is "over the line" it should be a firable offense for Charlie himself. Shutting down the show affects the entire crew and everyone involved. Sounds like CBS is screwing everyone over to make a point and try to save face to me.

  7. It will be very interesting to see how this plays out in the coming months! Two and a Half Men is a money in the bank for CBS... it has better ratings on its reruns than half (or more) of CBS' first run series! Charlie Sheen is the reason for that in large part. combine him individually with his chemistry with the rest of the cast and the show is about him... PERIOD.

CBS loves them some Chuck Lorre though... with him behind 2.5Men, The Big Bang Theory, Mike & Molly.. and a couple pilots in the works... it definitely is about power. How much power does Lorre have? How much does the Sheen have? Less than Sheen thinks I am certain.... Sheen has been a lech and a drunk for the entire run of the series, but now they say enough is enough because he rants against the showrunner that ranted against Sheen himself? And yet they don't fire Sheen, they halt the show altogether. Is to make a grandiose statement and hope Sheen cleans up? Is it to retool the series in the off season and write Charlie out? Is it to let the two fighting parties breath in hopes cooler heads will prevail? Regardless, it doesn't affect Sheen very much in the end, and Lorre has multiple other series he can concentrate on... it only affects parties not involved in what should be an internal dispute.

This is really a lose-lose situation for everybody involved. Lorre looks like an asshat for his mocking title card comments about Sheen, but then when Sheen lets loose his inner asshat and rants on radio, Lorre can't handle it and ends the series... for the season as of now, but maybe for good. CBS loses one of its biggest shows that was basically a money tree for the network. How does CBS reconcile the situation? Cowtow to Lorre and let him 86 their sitcom jewel? Replace Sheen with a sober actor that will undoubtedly not be as funny in the role? Write Charlie off 2.5Men and bring in a new lead? Cancel the series entirely and move on? Hope that this off season Charlie comes to his senses and Lorre desensitizes and the two make peace? Ya... good luck on that.

  8. His behaviour has affected his work. CBS has had to postpone production of "Two and A Half Men" a few times last year before even this latest (failed) stint for Charlie Sheen to go to rehab, and also when he was arrested. His further protestations that he's "cured" (which he claims he did in a nanosecond all by himself) only show to them that he's going to continue down this destructive path.

CBS has an expectation of performance, but these increasingly frequent rehab stints (or lack there of), hospital visits, and more do impinge on the production of "Two and a Half Men". I think these latest antics just the last bits the executives were prepared to ignore.

  9. OH I did not mean that he has not done wrong... He has, but they accepted it in the past because.. to paraphrase their own words, when he was there he did great work. They actually helped to create this problem by letting him get away with his antics in the past.... but....

My point was had little to do with who is MORE at fault between the two Chucks. "Why not fire Sheen and be done with him?" is more my point. Or they could have suspended him (for lack of a better term) for the rest of the season and tried retooling it, write in some rehab stint for another case of art imitating life imitating art. It would have served as both a trial to see if the show works without Sheen AND kept the cast and crew working. CBS' choice punishes everybody for Charlie being Charlie and Chuck being Chuck.

  10. I was kind of being sarky... CBS would have been in the right if they had addressed his behavior during last year's contract talks. ; but for the reasons listed by others--they didn't. They let it slide because they didn't want to lose their hit show. It wouldn't surprise me if someone didn't cave and give him what he wants again.

This is why the word for today is "Enabling"

  11. Who in their right mind does NOT have morality clauses in a Charlie Sheen contract? It's their own mess they created and now they have to deal with it. It's like you implied though... all about the money and they want the money Sheen brings in for the network!
