So, did everyone watch Smallville and Supernatural tonight? I hope so. If you did and you have Twitter, tweet #IWatchedSV #IWatchedSPN. Let's see how many people watched - including those like me that Nielsen doesn't count. I know there's a lot of us out there that are invisible in the ratings.
I don't know about you but Smallville has a lot more action in it than I remembered. Plus, Lois is infinitely better than Lana. Not to mention Michael Shanks is always a winner in my book. But enough about Smallville. I'm incredibly psyched about Friday having seen Appointment in Samarra again. Will Sam's wall hold? What's going on with the souls? Exactly what kind of detective work do you have to do to please Death? Julian Richings may be the most fitting match between actor and guest character this show has ever had. He creeps me out but I can't look away because he is so mesmerizing. Let's hope Death is not the Big Bad this season because that cannot possibly end well for the Winchesters.
Yesterday we did polls but the winners are not in yet. Voting closes at midnight midwest USA time so if you haven't already, vote here. So far, Dean smashed by a piano is the favorite Mystery Spot death and Friday's Like a Virgin is the most anticipated new episode. In other news, in keeping with our TNT love fest, I was watching Cold Case today and Taylor Cole, who played Sarah Blake in Provenance, guest starred as a beautifully cold opportunist. Man, I wish Sarah would come back.
Today's Challenge:
So today, we celebrate all the fabulous and talented SPN fans that make fan art. Whether done with traditional paints and pencils or created digitally, SPN fans do amazing work. Which artists do you recommend? What digital manipulation had you slack-jawed on Facebook? Who needs some recognition for dedicating their time and talents to make the rest of us happy? Most of all, whose work helps you get through bad days and hellatus? I'm new to the fan art scene, but here are three recommended to me.
An awesome response to the CW by savedean. Thanks to Dyanna_23 for sending it to me and Kyelinn for letting me know who to credit.
This one is by Petite Madame at deviantart.net. This website has a lot of Supernatural artists of all types. Thanks to Claudia for mentioning Petite Madame.
This one makes me laugh. It's by Enouva. Thanks Jillyanne for bringing it to my attention.
Other ways to celebrate:
1. Continue to write to the Supernatural Cast and Crew. Love Castiel's trench coat? Write to the wardrobe crew. Squicked out by all the cool gore this season? Make sure the make up and special effects people know. It doesn't have to be anything long or fancy. Everyone appreciates a "good job" now and then.

2. Support other Supernatural fans. Here's some sites:
Nueva 74 has a Supernatural site on YouTube.
Our own Jillyanne created a Supernatural Jingle Bells song with help from many of you.
SammWinchester is throwing an online SPN party on Friday before the premiere.
Croustipics downloads hundreds of SPN pictures on Twitter, many of which I hadn't seen before.
3. Cast you vote. Supernatural is in several online polls every day. Here are two:
TV Guide Fan poll
BuzzSugar's CW poll
4. Let people know what country you are from in the comments below. Supernatural is an international fanbase. I still maintain we couldn't have won the Best Show contest here without our Russian friends. Let's show our global support. Where are you from and how do you support Supernatural?
5. Promote the heck out of the midseason premiere on Friday. Let's make this the most watched Supernatural episode of all time. If nothing else, it will empower us, make the cast and crew feel appreciated, and let the CW know that no matter what they do, they cannot stop the Supernatural fandom! After all, Buddy TV called us the most rabid fandom on TV (in a good way). Let's show the positive power of our passion. Besides, it's the least we can do after all the hard work the cast and crew put in even though they were suffering from the flu. That's dedication!
Happy Supernatural Fan Week! Tell a fan how much you appreciate them today! #SPNFanWeek
Screencaps by Petite Madame, Enouva, and another I don't know so can't credit. Sorry.
My blog

My name is Dahne. I am from St. Louis, Missouri, USA and I love Supernatural. I support it in any way I can, including watching it live, recording it to rewatch, downloading it from iTunes, buying the DVD's, communicating with other fans (thanks guys), passing the word on things SPN-related, and supporting anything Jensen Ackles or Jared Padalecki is in. Yes, I have seen Devour - yikes.
ReplyDeleteWho are you?
I basically push supernatural DVDs on anybody that will take them. I have bough 26 copies of Season 1, about 15 of Season 2, 9 of Season 3, 6 of Season 4 and 4 of Season 5. Several of those copies have gone to Family members, but most of the Season 1 and 2 copies float around so that I can recruit more devotees. Recently I have gotten 3 men to watch the show and they all love it... 1 of them seems to like it enough to at least consider going to a local convention. He likes to watch the TNT episodes and always catches the new episodes... He also has helped me recruit a couple of more people recently... I have probably gotten more than 30 people addicted and introduced about another 20. Most of those 20 "say" they like the show, but since they haven't gone past season 3... I wouldn't call them converted. I have only had about 5 people give up on the show because of things like "It's too scary" or "I just don't have time".
ReplyDeleteMy name is Jillyanne...well actually it's Jilly but when I signed up for disqus, 'Jilly' was already taken. I live in a small city on the East Coast of New Zealand. My son introduced me and my husband to Supernatural...they both like it. I love it. For the first time in my life I've become a genuine 'fan' of something. And I'm having a ball.
ReplyDeleteI used to lurk on fansites but never had the courage to comment. That all changed when I visited SpoilerTV....now I can't stop and I don't want to....and now I comment occasionally on other sites too.
I've joined facebook and twitter and even have a blog (haven't used it much yet) that I hope to use to post articles and other stuff about SPN.
I vote in online polls to show my support for SPN - I spent hours voting in the TV Guide cover poll, even though I knew I wouldn't get my hands on a copy even if we won. (Of course we did win - and thanks to my awesome friends I now have two treasured copies of the Guide. Thanks again - you know who you are.)
At Christmas some of us SpoilerTV SPN fans were feeling a little bored so we wrote a SPN version of Jingle Bells - each adding a verse as we thought them up...we had so much fun doing that!
I love SPN...oh wait....I already said that....I love everything about it, and try to promote it in any way I can....but what I love most is the friends I've made because I'm part of that 'rabid fanbase' Dahne mentioned. Because of SPN I now have friends from all over the world - we chat almost every day and, what started as merely discussing our favorite show has turned into real friendship.
Yes SPN fans 'sure do complain a lot' but we love a lot, and we laugh a lot.
Ok I'll shut up now.
Wow! You are definitely committed. People laugh at me for having 3 copies of season 1. Way to go! Keep up your campaign and you will have singlehandedly brought in more new viewers than the CW. Perhaps they can hire you to work for them.
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed.
ReplyDeleteI watched Devour (hilariously bad), Friday 13th (Jared with very tight clothes, sorry, but there is no plot in this movie, and a tiny motorcycle), Boogeyman (it's Sam without Dean on an emo trip), Christmas Cottage (sooo cheesy), One Tree Hill (surprisingly good) and my Bloody Valentine (Dean means the flashlight).
ReplyDeleteSupernatural confessionals! :D It's amazing how many different people from all over the world are fans of this show.
ReplyDeleteMy two favorite things to talk about: SPN and me :P
ReplyDeleteHi, my name is Sue -- I feel like I'm standing up at an AA meeting or something -- and I'm a Supernatural addict. I'm in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and feel special because Dean has actually said it twice in the series. :) I generally lurk, but on a few sites I comment. I've never missed an episode of Supernatural. The CW affiliate blacked out one night and pissed me off when I got a black screen instead of Dean Men Don't Wear Plaid, but I just downloaded it the next day and felt better.
ReplyDeleteMy husband would say I'm a bit obsessed; I vote on polls, check ratings, even have posters up in my office and the season 6 intro as the background for my computer screen. I swear on the Winchester Gospels that SPN is the only show I watch on the CW since I'm not a twelve year old girl. Like others here, I'll be brave enough to admit to owning Devour, Friday the 13th, My Bloody Valentine, Ten Inch Hero, Flight of the Pheonix, the 4th(?) season of Smallville, and both seasons of Dark Angel. I did draw the line at Dawson's Creek and Gilmore Girls. Couldn't do it.
I've had a lot of fun with the new people I've met through this fandom (ya'll know who you are!) and I look forward to much more. It's such a hoot to chat with people who are half a world away -- or a state or two away -- and find out they're just like me!
Hi, Sue, you're 'passionate' not obsessed, right? ;D
ReplyDeleteHow do you know your brain is tired? When you confuse 'Ten Inch Hero' (movie) with 'One Tree Hill' (TV show) because both had a character played by Danneel Harris. Lol I don't even watch OTH.
ReplyDeleteIf it weren't for the Internet, I wouldn't be a Supernatural fan. I saw a few promos on TV, even when I was on holidays in Thailand, but I was never really interested enough to watch. I'm sorry, I knew Jared from Gilmore Girls and...I wasn't a fan of him. So I wasn't interested in watching a show with the Gilmore Girls guy., I see my error now. Thank God, I didn't recognize Jensen from Dark Angel or Dawson's Creek (I only watched because of Jen and Jack)!
So, I found this unnamed video on a now long gone website and started watching it. It was 'All Breaks Loose Part Two'. Let me tell you, Jensen absolutely blew me away with the opening scene and Jared had absolutely no resemblance to the annoying little kid in GG. This was during the writers' strike, so I read episode guides about season 1 and 2, liked them enough to order them on amazon and watched them in a week and then all season 3 episodes I could find online. Inbetween, I started reading fanfiction which I knew from my other fandoms (anime, manga), I was so confused when Pater Jim and Caleb didn't play a more important role on the show. Lol So since then I joined message boards (not my thing), twitter, spoilertv (I miss you awesome s4 sides) etc. etc. etc. I just love to talk about 'Supernatural' and I'm a very curious person. So thanks to all the awesome people at spoilertv talking about spoilers is a lot of fun. I've been a fan of other shows, I love watching genre shows (Buffy, Angel, Lost, Farscape, Dark Angel, Babylon 5 etc.) but usually I loose interest after a while and normal dramas and comedies bore me. No show made me want to discuss it with other people but 'Supernatural' was different. I turned my friends into fans (I didn't stop talking about it), introduced my family to it, they call it 'the show' or 'your little horror show' but are all in love with my little Impala collection. There have been several attempts to 'borrow' the matchbox Impala. ;D I got s1-s5 twice to let 'non-Supernatural' friends borrow them. I had a phase where I played around with gimp and then I found all the awesome fan art about Supernatural out there. I love cafe-de-labeill 's angels http://cafe-de-labeill.livejournal.com/22201.html#cutid1 and her Twilight vs Supernatural drawings http://cafe-de-labeill.livejournal.com/28356.html#cutid1 She's a lovely and talented french-girl who has a preference for Castiel and Dean manga style. But there are so many more! This is my fav Castiel drawing http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php?mode=medium&illust_id=13892044 Supernatural's fandom is just full of creative people. I love crossover art with Doctor Who or Neil Gaiman's Good Omens or anything else.
So if it wouldn't be for 'Supernatural' I wouldn't be online talking about any TV show. I think as long as people talk about the show there is nothing to worry, so I even appreciate all the fandom drama which is part of this little crazy but devoted online family. :D I think the best thing fans of any show can do is, talk and let other people see why they care so much about it. Not everbody likes the same thing but it's interesting to see what turns people from casual viewers into fans.
And because it's spn fan week I recommend this lovely fanfiction about Sam and Dean's childhood called 'Summer camp'. http://gigglingkat.livejournal.com/152650.html It's a very cute story, no slash, no pairings, just adorable little Winchesters. Summary: "I sent his brother to summer camp," he explained. "You heartless bastard," laughed the manager. "That seems to be the general consensus," John agreed.
My name is Katerina(and I feel kind of weird doing this..).Okay,I live in Athens,Greece and I've been a huge Supernatural fan for the last 5 years!I started watching it when I was 14,so in the beginning you would find me with my hands covering my eyes in a few scenes.. :p
ReplyDeleteI rented the first season on DVD,because I was intrigued by the plot and because I was a fan of Jensen(from Smallville). It took me about a week to watch the whole thing and then a couple more days to come up to speed with the first episodes of season 2(which had already started). And I've never missed an episode since!
I think that this is the most passionate I've ever been about a show or movie(Lord of the Rings is a close second)..I started being more active about in the last couple of years, since season 4 I think.Voting in polls(a lot),having endless conversations about the plot and stuff like that.I recently decorated a wall in my room with pictures, posters and some incredible fan art that I found! In a few months I'll attend my first convention in Rome!Since nobody wanted to come with me,I'll be going alone..But with a hotel full of people as crazy about the show as I am,I'm sure I'll find someone to hang out with!
Mostly I try to promote the show through Facebook(I don't have Twitter yet)..It's fairly popular here in Greece actually, especially given the fact that it's aired after midnight! The last episode they showed was "Lucifer Rising" and it may seem ancient history to most of you,but it's not that bad with our standards.Only House and Gossip Girl are more up to speed(we're still struggling to finish Veronica Mars)..Also,I work part time in a video club,so I try to literally shove it into people's hands first chance I get!A few months back I had a very long argument with a guy who had just ended watching Buffy and was thinking of starting Angel.I was like:"Yean,Angel's great, but check this out first."
And he liked it!
It's been a great pleasure being a fan of the show, not only because it's great, but also because it really has one of the most dedicated fan bases I've ever seen and I think that being able to talk about it with people all around the world is truly amazing!
Other ways to celebrate: @SammWinchester and @SupernaturalS6 are hosting a SupernaturalParty this Friday 6 hours before LikeAVirgin, 11 contests and games, prizes and so much fun you wouldn't believe it :) Have a look! http://www.supernaturallocations.com/supernaturalparty.htm
ReplyDeleteHi, I was slack-jawed myself when I saw one of my old manipulations.
ReplyDeletehttp://s194.photobucket.com/albums/z261/Enouva/Supernatural/?action=view¤t=e1.jpg
My name online is Enouva. And I really had to search around why I made this manip. Turns out it was for April's Fool day. Also, it was about Sammy mispronouncing some Latin words and you can see the result. But boys will be boys, so they decided to play cops and robbers. :p
I live in Lithuania. I was a rabid fan of Supernatural for about 5 seasons. But with time I calmed down and now I just follow the news. Like here on SpoilerTV.
My name is Jenna (annej) ;) ,and I'm from Atlanta Georgia. I'm sad to admit that I'm new to Supernatural. I was in college when the show came out and I didn't watch ANY shows on tv. I recently graduated and saw that the first episode was free on itunes at the time and decided to see what the show was about. I was hooked! I watched the entire first season online and after that I just went out and bought the seasons before watching them (knowing I'd love it!). I was a huge buffy fan back in high school so it was nice to see another 'paranormal' based show (I like these kinds of shows because ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!). Anyway, back to the point. I watched the complete series in a matter of weeks (couldn't stop!) and finished just in time for the new season to start!
ReplyDeleteSince then, I've gotten my dad into the show (I'm re-watching it with him), and my best friends. I just wish more people knew about this show! I hope they renew for a 7th season, I don't want to see my new FAVORITE show to get canceled. =)
You don't want to know how many times I've watched the entire series since I bought them back in August... =P
Lol, this really is like a Supernatural Anonymous meeting. Ok: Hi, I'm Roisin, I'm from Ireland, and I've actually only been watching Supernatural for just over a year. I stumbled onto it completely by chance: previously I was quite involved in the Criminal Minds fandom (and before that, Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings) and I had heard people talking about Supernatural, but I didn't know anything about it w.r.t. storyline, genre, etc. Then I was browsing in a DVD store just after Christmas 2009, and the complete first season was on sale for €10. I remember thinking "Hmm...I've heard good things about this, and hey, even if it turns out to be crap, the two guys on the cover look really hot." Little did I know that it would be the start of an obsession that I have since spread throughout my own and my best friend's family, and I am currently in the process of recommending to anyone who asks me about TV (and some who don't). I started watching when the show was on the season 5 winter hellatus, and I watched the first four and a half seasons in a little under a month. I've been obsessed ever since. I wasn't very active in the fandom until I found SpoilerTV, because tbh, I couldn't find another fan site that suited me. So yeah, anyway: long live Supernatural! And roll on Friday!
ReplyDeleteMy name is Monika Thommen-Ackle and I'm from Switzerland.
ReplyDeleteMy friend talked to me for some time about a show where one of the main leads' last name was almost similar to my own but I've never been into horror, so I said thanks, but no thanks. Later, when I was searching to watch something online, I did try episode one anyway and am hooked ever since.
I try to help Supernatural by getting as many people to watch as I can. Here in Switzerland they are now airing season four, after 10PM, which sucks and lots of my friends don't understand English, so it kinda sucks that I can't really discuss things with them. But they do buy the DVD's and that counts for somethign with the PTB, I think. In fact, Season four came out in December and in the biggest electrostore-chain here in Switzerland, they still rank place three in the top sellings *grin*
Hi, my name's Ally. I'm living in Germany, and I've been watching Supernatural since a friend bought it for me last Christmas. Since then I've basically lurked on the internet posting nice things about it and converting friends around where I live. With most shows I've lost interest around the six-month mark, but not with Supernatural.
ReplyDeleteI found LiveJournal because of Supernatural, and finally found a use for my long-forgotten bajillion-gigabyte, hugely clunky old iPod...carrying my favorite episodes of Supernatural with me wherever I go. Without Supernatural I wouldn't have some of my best and closest friends to talk to on the Internet (or if I did, we wouldn't have as much fun). :)
Of course I support everything even remotely related to it...that means I have three copies almost of everything the boys have ever been in: Cry Wolf, Devour, My Bloody Valentine, Friday the 13th, Ten Inch Hero, Dark Angel, Gilmore Girls (obviously not the lame seasons), and season 4 of Smallville. I have the stickers Sam Winchester has on his laptop in season 1 slapped on the back of my Mac.
Basically, I'm forever in love with this show. :)
Hey there. I'm from Hungary and I'm a Supernatural fan since 2008. I support Supernatural online as much as I possibly can. I share info on Twitter, FB, LJ, forums, vote on polls, promote by sharing pics and vids. And all the latest info and spoilers with my online friends.
ReplyDeleteI also did some translation work for the Random Acts :)
I joined Twitter and a lot of other sites just because of Supernatural (Twitter was because of Misha). I started writing fanfictions and I comment on pages like this.
I love being a minion, I love to be the part of this fandom. I met so many amazing people, I just wish I'll be able to meet them in person one day too :)
My name is Nicole and I am from Munich, Germany. Wow- Sue is right, that sounds like AA meeting :)
ReplyDeleteI was introduced to Supernatural in Season 1 by a friend. Truth is, for reasons I don´t remember anymore I lost some episodes and stopped watching (Yes, shame on me). Later season 3 aired here and there was absolutly nothing else to watch. Out of boredom I turned in on "A very Supernatural Christmas" and my heart was breaking. I wanted to know what was happening to Dean and got all the episodes from Season 3! (The US were showing season 5 at that moment). I watched the whole season 3 in one weekend, which I´ve never done with any other TV show before. After that I had to know what happened before, so I got Season 1 and 2 and watched until I was up to date with the episodes airing in the US. During that time I had no social live :)
Thinking back, I realize, I could easily have missed this wonderful show. That it didn´t happened was only by chance and I am eternaly grateful for whatever made me watch it that day again. Am I addicted? Let´s say I only made it through my first hiatus with the help from my friends I gathered here (I really don´t do hiatus well, I fear the summer hiatus).
Usually I don´t comment on any sites - I am a shy person (unbelievable, but true). I lurked in the shadows of SpoilerTV and read the spoilers for season 6. People seemed to be so nice and most part civil with eath other and it made me wanna be part of this fandom and talk with others about SPN, since most of my friends just roll their eyes when mentioning the show. One day I gathered all my courage and posted - and I was welcomed very friendly. Since then....here I am.
I spend my time photoshopping the boys. My desktop wallpaper beeing on three different computers now (not all mine) ;)
SPN fans (you know who you are, Alpha) made me join facebook and twitter. I vote whenever I can for SPN, have bought the DVD of all seasons and curently I turned two of my friend vampirelike into SPN fans (one of which watches season 6 although his english is not so good).
My name is Alex and I'm from Poland. I got into Supernatural thanks to Polish TV which surprisingly keeps on broadcasting all seasons, even though it usually airs at night (I guess they just think it's too horror-like for children or teens :P). Right now, there is a rerun of season 4 on one network and of season 1 on another one (kind of a sister network), with season 1 two times a week, so I really cannot complain ;) I'm pretty sure they're gonna broadcast season 5 as soon as the season 4 repeat is over (which will be in two weeks). So yeah, basically I started watching it on Polish TV, being a year or two behind the US. I've always loved the show and its storylines, I loved Jared and Jensen but I wasn't so crazy about it until last spring.
ReplyDeleteIt was when I found out my friend also likes this show. I decided to let her catch up with me (she was after season 2, me after season 3) and then we started our weekly Supernatural nights, watching 5 episodes in a row every time. I got addicted to it right away and around the middle of season 4 I couldn't live without SPN anymore. We finished season 4 some time after Easter and season 5 about a month after the season finale aired in US. I've been hooked to this site ever since.
I cannot wait for the rest of this season and I'm in a desperate need for a season 7.
Whoah, still a lot of fans from Europe. Wasn't expecting that.
ReplyDeleteOK, my name is Lisette. I'm from the Netherlands. I have only been fan of the series for 2 years now, because in my country is was a really unknown show (even more than in the USA). When the first and second season werd broadcasted, it was broadcasted sunday nights at 11 pm. At that time, I was normally sleeping, so I never noticed it. Until I read a synopsis of AHBL2 in our TV-guide, and I decided to download the episode and watch it. And I've been a fan ever since. USA had just aired the season 4 finale, and I watched all four season in 2 weeks.
Mostly, I'm a lurker. I read a lot, but I don't comment much. I vote all the polls on this site, and I really like to know what others think about the series. Every Saterday afternoon (have to work Saterday morning) I download the new ep, and every week I'm really looking out for it. It's the one of the two series I've ever been addicted to (the other was Heroes Season 1, it really went down after that...)
Hi, I'm Katie (SuePo is right, this is like an AA meeting) and I became addicted to SPN pretty late in the game. I'm from Toronto, Canada but I have no cable or satellite, though I am able to pick up CW from across the lake in Buffalo with my trusty old school rabbit ears. For the longest time I pretty much ignored the WB/CW - I'm not a fan of teen agnst and melodrama, which is what all their shows seemed to be about (besides their comedies which weren't funny).
ReplyDeleteThen in January last year when browsing the internet, I came across a clip on youtube, looked into it and I was hooked. Not even kidding; I watched all 5 seasons in 2 weeks and then had to wait for the hellatus to end with for an agonizing week or so for 'Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid'.
I haven't seen any of those other movies and shows Jared and Jensen have been in, but I can still safely say this is the most obsessed I've ever been about a TV show or movie, ever. I never even thought to look up spoilers (or anything else for that matter) about another TV show, and yet here I am with an account doing polls and stuff for SPN. Weird.
I come from a large family (6 kids), which is probably why I love the show so much since it focuses on the brotherly bond between Dean and Sam. I've gotten 3 of my siblings hooked as well (I'm working on the others, give me some time). I've of course convinced a few of my friends to watch it, and I know my older sister has hooked at least one of her friends, and I hope this cycle will continue.
Hi....I am from India and I absolutely LOVE supernatural. I have never been as obsessed with any other show as I am with supernatural. I have loved the show since the very first episode I saw in the fall of 2006.
ReplyDeleteIn the beginning I thought I liked it so much because of the two hunky good looking leading men. But slowly I have realized that there is so much more to why I love the show to a point of crazy obsession than the good looking actors. Because lets face it, the superficial world of TV is full of pretty faces and even good actors. So why supernatural? Its because supernatural is the story of two self sacrificing super heroes. And don't we all love stories of super heroes? They fight evil, save innocent people. And again what sets supernatural apart from the rest of super hero stories? I think its because of the strong, well written and well portrayed element of family. We can, at some level, empathize with their need to protect their family at all cost. We yearn to have a bond like they do with someone. Its pure, true and unconditional.
Both Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki are great actors, and have grown so much along with their characters on the show. They are not just great actors they are brilliant entertainers. I watched all their interviews and convention videos. They are smart, intelligent and witty.
Unfortunately supernatural is not at all well marketed in India. I do my best to sell it to all my TV crazy friends. So far, I have managed to get a few people to start watching the show and among those I have found one crazy super obsessed fan like me.
I have mostly been a lurker on this site. But more recently I have found a voice, it seems fun to express oneself and support a favorite show on fan sites such as this. And also I wanted to express my utmost outrage at CW for pushing Supernatural back for another week at the last moment. They do this to probably their only show that has a loyal fan base large enough to win them a TV guide cover! God I can not even stand vampire diaries and its frustrating to see CW use all its resources on shows that are not even half as good.
And yes, like you all, I own supernatural DVDs, I have to order them online on amazon because like I said, unfortunately the show is not popular in my part of the world...yet!
I have watched Friday the 13th, Ten inch hero, My bloody valentine, Christmas cottage.
I loved season 1,2 and 3...specially 3. I hate that the brothers have drifted apart, I hate the mistrust. I hope the writers decide to fix it before they realize that they tested the fans far too long.
So that's me!!
I stole Ten Inch Hero from Blockbuster since I couldn't find ti anywhere else. Um, let me clarify. I rented it from Blockbuster and never returned it, so they charged me for it. I guess I bought it in a roundabout way instead of stole it.
ReplyDelete;-) Glad your son got you watching! SPN fans complain a lot, love a lot, laugh a lot, and talk a lot. Keep talking - no one wants you to shut up.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue! It is a bit like an AA meeting where NO ONE wants to get over their addiction. I also bought the 4th season of SV but stopped part way through because I couldn't slog through any more Lana Lang, even for Jensen. I actually liked Gilmore Girls (the earlier seasons) and knew Jared before Jensen.
ReplyDeleteI draw the line at Dawson's Creek, House of Wax (no Paris Hilton or CCM please), and the Marilyn Monroe biopic, Blonde. There are some things my stomach can't handle even for these 2.
Don't be sad to admit that you're new to Supernatural......there's always room for one or two. or ten more fans..
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pictures. I never thought of the tactical advantage glittering vampires would have. Ha! Looking forward to reading the story after I shovel snow and ice again. Glad to see the writer's strike had one positive outcome.
ReplyDeleteLove how your job makes you an ambassador for Supernatural. Growing the SPN fan base, one customer at a time. At best, I get people who ask who the hot guy is on my calendar and try to push it from there. Have fun at the convention. I'm jealous.
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me know Enouva. I will credit you right now.
ReplyDeleteWe love that kind of passion here. Welcome to the fandom. Great show, great fans - what's not to love! Thanks for hooking others on SPN too. It seems like once we get people watching, they stay.
ReplyDeleteCome for the hot guys, stay for the intriguing plot and gore, and family issues and action and....I'm glad you tried it and SpoilerTV. I'm new here too but now I can't imagine not having this website to talk SPN with my new friends. (sorry about the double negative)
ReplyDeleteThat's fantastic news! I knew that SPN had great overseas DVD sales but to still be in the top 3 after a full month. That's incredible. I'm so glad that you tried SPN. To be completely honest, the gore is still too much for me sometimes. I tend to watch new episodes with pillow handy in case I need to cover my eyes. By the way, welcome to SpoilerTV. Thanks for sharing your SPN story.
ReplyDeleteI'm saving up to get an iPod that will do videos. I want to carry SPN with me everywhere I go to. It would make the mundane parts of my life less boring. I love that you have Sam's laptop stickers. That made me giggle.
ReplyDeleteI just became aware of Random Acts. It seems like a fun charity and I'll probably get involved with it over the summer. I love that Supernatural (and especially Misha) fans also do some much good for the world. It's cool that we can take our seemingly unboundless energy and band together to get things done.
ReplyDeleteCould you imagine a worldwide SPN convention? I don't think there's a place big enough on the planet. How awesome would that be!
We are so happy you joined us airbat. I think SpoilerTV is a great starting place for shy fans. We're not so big that people don't notice your there and we're not so big that fan wars start on a daily basis. I think A Very Supernatural Christmas is the perfect episode to give someone new a taste of the show. I'm glad you stumbled across it. So, are you going to share your images here? My computer could use some SPN wallpaper.
ReplyDeleteSupernatural does get better with friends. I envy you the 5 episode marathons. That's fantastic! I love that you are getting two different seasons on two different stations. That reminds me of TNT here. I love reminiscing about the older episodes while looking forward to new ones.
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely fantastic, Debbie. Keep up the amazing work!
ReplyDeleteSunday nights at 11. Yikes! Friday is not looking too bad all of a sudden. AHBL2 is an awesome one to start with because it combines the emo of the beginning with the action fo the end. Glad you gave SPN a chance. I also admire your dedication because I don't think I could watch 82 episodes in 2 weeks. Wow!
ReplyDeleteHi! Thanks for sharing your story. I love that you can get SPN with an antennae. I can't even do that in St. Louis. Again, I don't know how you guys do it, catching up on so many episodes in so little time. I love that passion! Keep hooking those friends and family. I remember an article in EW last year about how Supernatural was actually increasing viewers at that time. It's because of dedicated people like you.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to SpoilerTV, ezziarora. We're so glad you shared your story with us. I love how you explained what makes you obsessed with Supernatural. I get tired of people telling me that I only like it because Jensen and Jared are hot. They are, but no one sticks with a bad show just because of the actors' physiques much less become passionate about it. There are far too many good looking people on TV for people to stay for that. The supernatural plus the action plus the heart (especially the family bond) are the reason I love the show. I'm glad they hooked you too.
ReplyDeletehey.. i m Hetal from India. a crazzyy supernatural addict. my obsession started in 2006 wen i was randomly browsing the channel and here it was the promo of Wendigo where Sam dreams of visiting Jess grave and i was instantly striken by this good looking guy.. so started watching it and just one epi Pilot was enough to get me addicted. since India lags behind in airing the epis after season 1 i couldnt wait long so i started watching it online.
ReplyDeleteto tell u i have never been obsessed with any other shows before like supernatural. its my reason to live.
i will always be grateful to it coz supernatural gave me everything in life.. amazing friends fro mall over the world.. my life a reason to live evrything.
and i do my best to get as many people addicted to it as possible. frankly telling people here in India hardly watch American shows so its bit difficult to get them hooked
but my most successful mission was getting my brother addicted and due to my craziness now even my many friends have started watching it coz i speak supernatural 24 hrs.
even from India i got so many amazing friends and crazyy addicts like me which makes me so overwhelmed.
as a big supernatural fan i do own DVDS of every season.. purchased it online coz India sucks in promoting supernatural and dvds arent available here. although season 5 was aired here 3 times season 6 havent stared. same as CW here AXN channel sucks in promoting our show. coz they air it at any time evry week.
i also own 2011 Sam calender supernatural tshirt, mug and TV Guide magazine which was sent to me by awesome fans and friends from US and also have downloaded all the convention videos and i owe more than 10,000 pics of them.
seriously supernatural fandom is best ever. i m so overwhelmed coz i received not 1 but 3 TV Guides from friends.
and as loyal fan of J2 i have seen and own their every movies and show
Ten Inch Hero and Christmas cottage being my most fav. also F-13, MBV, Devour, Dark Angel, Smallville, Gilmore Girls, cry wolf, house of wax, Batman under the Red Hood etc.
my most Fav is season 1,2 and 3 coz brotherly dynamics and banter were best ever in these. but love all seasons very dearly
i just wanted to thank Supernatural cast crew specially Jared Jensen for giving me everything and bringing my happiness back and also to amazing fans all over the world xoxoxoxo
forgot to add we did have Supernatural Marathons. me and my brother
ReplyDeletewhole day season 1 :)
also during Jareds birthday last year my friends came over to my place. we had our mini party in honor of him. cut the huge cake than watching supernatural
we saw random 4 epis back to back
it was so much fun :)
are planning again next year on his Birthday :)
Wow isn't this the most awesome Supernatural meeting! Hi, I'm Christiana and I live in Bulgaria. I love Supernatural so much. I am obsessed with the show. One of my dreams - to go to a Comic con!
ReplyDeleteI own the first season of Supernatural (still saving money for the others) and you just had to see my mom's face when I got it in the mail! I was jumping around the rooms screaming ''Yay!Yay!Yay!'' like crazy. That's right I'm really passionate. :D
I started watching Supernatural three years ago when my best friend told me about it. And I just fell inlove. After talking, talking and talking to my other friend about it she finally started watching it and now she and her sister are really hooked up. My father too. Am I proud? Hell yeah!
Because of Spn I found tweeter and from there tumblr. I met so many nice people who are fans it's just so...amazing. Because of the show I started a youtube channel and I'm making videos now, and that is what I am going to learn after I graduate this year and go to university.
I am really proud to be part of the fandom. It's simply amazing how dedicated and awesome all the fans are. And last weeks events (or the stupid thing CW did) showed me, again, that we are like one big Winchester family. Ready to do anything for the show and the other fans. I think that is the thing I like most.
There is a bulgarian tv channel that shows spn on Sundays. It's in the middle of 4th season, I think. I can't catch every episode and it's little annoying that it's with bulgarian voices. I prefer sexy Jared, Jensen voices. It's not stoping me tough, I just turn down the volume. I've watched the episodes so many times I know what's going to happen and even some of their lines.
I've watched Friday the 13th (yeah what a final!), My bloody valentine, Cry wolf (which was pretty good Jared and Jon Bon Jovi in one movie), House of wax, New York minute - I had to watched it since there was shirtless!Jared, Cheaper by dozen. Yeah, I am a bit of a Jared fan as you can see. Lol yes, that means I am a sam!girl.
So that's all,no actually it's not all, I can talk for hours about Supernatural but my thoughts are really messed up so I'll just shut up. :D
Sam gal :D me too :D
ReplyDeleteyayee
I would if I know how...saddly I am no computer gig...but you have my facebook access..If you wanna use one of the two feel free. Or maybe the next one I am doing ;)
ReplyDeleteI hear ya, Dahne! Don't think I could ever do Blonde. Maybe someday when I'm really really desperate. I've seen House of Wax (hey, it was on cable one night!) Once they killed Paris off, it wasn't too bad... as slasher flicks go. I've watched Gilmore Girls on ABC Family all the way thru now, Jared was cute. Rory made a huge mistake with the short dude from Heroes, tho. :) I just found nothing to like about that character. But I digress...
ReplyDeleteBy the way - this was a great idea! It's cool to see how far across the globe SPN reaches!
Um, yeah! Exactly! Passionate! That's what I meant... (my husband is still going with obsessed. But what does he know?) :)
ReplyDeleteI was lucky I discovered it just before the May holidays (that's 2 weeks). I had to work a couple of houres a day in the holidays, and I had almost nothing else to do. It was just too addictive not to watch another episode, and another...
ReplyDeleteWhat a coincidence -- me too! :)
ReplyDeleteYou can turn vampires into SPN fans? That's power! :)
ReplyDeleteMy name is Karen. I have been watching and supporting SPN since the beginning. I am one of those who say the promo for it and was like OMG its Jensen Ackles....I have got to see that :)
ReplyDeleteI have bought all of the DVDs. I also watch it at work. Sometimes it gets slow and my boss lets me watch things on the computer while I work. As long as it does not interfer with my productivity :) Awesome Job!!!
In being able to do that, I had him interested in the series and now he is hooked too. Not as much as us, but he really likes the show. I also have another friend that got sooo tired of listening to me gush about the show.....she finally broke down and ask for Season 1 and has fallen in love with the show. She call me at night going "Why did I let you talk me into this. That episode scared the hell out of me." ha ha ha ha.
I have never blogged or researched ANY show before. I am a huge fan of all TV, Movies and music and only SPN has me so inspired. I have made a lot of online friends who enjoy discussing, debating and goofing off. It has been great. I have never spent sooo much time on a computer for anything other than school or work.
Anyways. I love that first picture :) Should be CW's logo. ha ha ha ha ha The other one's are awesome too. People are soooo talented.
I did watch SV and SPN last night. Even though the rating people have not pulled their heads out of the butts. I mean seriously. Do they not know that what we watch is tracked or at least can tracked by the satellite people. (DishNetwork, ComCast (Georgia), DirecTV). I mean they could get such a more accurate reading than the people who have those Neilson box. My Conspiracy Theorist comes out and I believe that those things are rigged!!!
does anyone here have a box??? I am wondering if their name is on a list and they get special gifts from shows and networks for watching their shows. Some the of the shows that are sooo popular has me scratching my head. I would like to think that the American People are smarter than that, but hearing the ratings for some shows has me going WTH???
Can't wait for Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have 30 more hours to go :(
LOL! That would be awesome...But I have the power to be ...let´s call it resilient enough to "persuade" people to watch SPN :)
ReplyDeleteHello, my name is Spencer, and I'm from Ottawa, Canada. I support Supernatural by chatting about it with the fans, and of course watching it. I own all the seasons and I've probably watched every episode more than once except for a few new ones. I joined Twitter because of the beloved show. I actually know how to work the computer because of it.
ReplyDeleteToday I feel Spn's made an impact on me. It gave me a "give em' hell" attitude, I incorporate some of their "words" into mine and I get to know an awesome fanbase.
The one who did the Salt n Burn CW drawing is a friend of mine. Her name is savedean and you can find her here: http://devotedfansnetwork.com/forum/member.php?u=18099
ReplyDeleteShe's an avid member of SFO: http://devotedfansnetwork.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=12
Ok, I'll play too. I'm Chris (short for Christine) from Massachusetts. Supernatural was always on my radar as a show I wanted to check out someday because I usually like these types of shows (I was a huge Buffy fan back in the day) and I remembered Jensen from his Days of Our Lives days. I think I caught an episode or part of an episode back in the earlier seasons, but it seemed very dark (as in the lighting) and it didn't grab me. The show also always seemed to be scheduled against something I already watched, so that was another reason I didn't start watching sooner.
ReplyDeleteI generally do not like to post about shows online and have only made an exception for a few shows. After season 5 of Lost I followed the Lost spoilers to Dark's site and started posting regularly on the forum. During one of the site's competitions for best show, I heard some grumbling over on the Lost boards that Supernatural was beating Lost (the Lost fans were not happy, but I'll leave that language off here). That got my attention because Supernatural didn't get a lot of buzz and I had assumed the quality was somewhere in the Charmed range. So that was an incentive to change the channel and watch a few episodes. I found the Lucifer and angels arc really interesting and was shocked as I started watching the show how good it was. I'm usually aware of what the quality shows are, even if I don't watch them all. I caught most of season 5 and some of season 4 on reruns and tuned in again this fall, happy that Supernatural was moved to Friday and not competing against any of my other shows anymore (aka Fringe). I don't follow most of the shows that I watch online, but after the first couple of episodes I was needing some spoilers, so I found my way back here.
I had some time over the holiday break to catch up on past seasons, and this past week caught up on the last back unwatched episode (Ghostfacers). Yay! I'm going through TV withdrawal right now because I've become conditioned to expect Lost and 24 to come back about this time of year, so if I get a little cranky and put too much on Supernatural, that's why. Wow, this is like an AA meeting.
My name is Kaitie (weird spelling I know) and I'm from Vancouver, Canada. I've been a Supernatural addict for almost a year now. I first heard of the show online, because I was a giant Fringe fan (AM a giant Fringe fan) and kept hearing about this "underrated" show. One day, I heard about Changing Channels: I am a HUGE fan of gimmicky episodes, so I thought that I just had to check it out. So I watched it online. I think I enjoyed it, because the rest is history. I think I got caught up to the point of "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid" in less than 2 months. It's funny because as I was working my way through the first season online, I thought to myself that this was just going to be a show that I watched, not followed obsessively!
ReplyDeleteThat really does sum up my relationship with Supernatural! I think I may have joined SpoilerTV just after you, because I've only been here about 9 months, and I can't remember you not being around...anyway, yes, I am so grateful for all the amazing people that SpoilerTV has put me in contact with. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm Kat from the U.S. "of frozen under an inch of ice and a foot and a half of snow with more on the way this weekend" (AKA New Jersey). I tell my family and friends to watch on Fridays. I joined Twitter to keep tabs at Comic Con 2010 and branched out to follow Misha and Jim and Supernatural stuff. I started watching SPN last year when Fringe had their "musical" episode (IMO if you consider yourself serious sci-fi nix the Gleek out). Flipped between the shows then went over to SPN's side when it premiered last year. Caught up with it on TNT and bought season 2 as well as downloaded episodes from Amazon.
ReplyDeleteI am not artistic in anyway but can appreciate the talent of the fan artists.
Tomorrow night I'm going to hi-jack the big-screen tv, open a bottle of wine and enjoy the boys being back.
I stopped watching Gilmore Girls when Rory chose Jess. Talk about bad taste. So did they kill off that CMM kid early too on House of Wax, because I seriously think I have a bigger problem watching him than Paris Hilton at this time.
ReplyDeleteI started during the Best Show competition this summer. I think it was SPN vs NCIS, two shows I watch. It's been a blast!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are a one-person promotion machine in India. I love how you did a birthday for Jared and SPN marathon. Awesome idea! Thanks for sharing your story with us!
ReplyDeleteI'm getting back into SPN fan fiction. Our little fandom has some very talented writers.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to SpoilerTV, Christiana. Thanks for sharing. If you put in a link to your YouTube Channel, people will be able to follow you there too. I am amazed by people who can fan vid. I have lots of ideas but little talent or patience in that arena.
ReplyDeleteYour season 1 DVD story reminds me of when I picked up the last DVD at Best Buy with the Metallicar key chain in it. I think I freaked out the employees I was so excited. Generally, I'm pretty quiet but I got a lot of strange looks that day.
Aww come on, I loved Jess, he was so much better for Rory than Dean! I mean seriously, Dean was the lamest of all her boyfriends, didn't like the character AT ALL. Thank God I now have Sam to assosiate Jared with instead ;)
ReplyDeleteJess was just adorable. He was all playing tough and careless, but in reality he always loved her. And he was much smarter than Dean (or Logan for that matter). Ok, he was a rebelled teenager, but we could see him grow when he showed up later in I guess season 6. And plus, him and Rory had such an amazing chemistry!
Actually, Jess was what made me fall for Milo and then I watched all 4 seasons of Heroes, even when the show got crappy, mostly because of him (and his character, who I also loved).
The marathons were fantastic! Thanks to them I know assosiate the smell of popcorn with the fourth season of Supernatural :P
ReplyDeleteI loved that school scene with Rory and Dean and also when he works to give her a car. I don't know why they ever split them, but it worked out better for us anyway. My favorite Dark Angel is by far the Berrisford Agenda. That one gets me every time.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a Neilsen box but I have done the sweeps survey before. Back when Buffy was on. I agree they need a new system.
Munich is a lovely city. I was there for last years Oktoberfest. The architecture lends itself wonderfully to the supernatural ;) Glad you've had good experiences with SPN fans!
ReplyDeleteIt's those unexplained absences isn't it? Off taking torture lessons from Dean....
ReplyDeleteI can't get my husband to watch it at all...but he makes fun of me for being obsessed with "my stories" as he calls them. Guess it's a husband thing.
ReplyDeleteSPN has spawned a few "give 'em hell" moments for me too. Like last week. :-) It's definitely made me less shy about sharing my feelings with corporations - not just TV networks.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, you can be my meal planner any day. I'm definitely going with the soup tonight. Maybe some hot chocolate too before going to bed early.
Thanks so much! I'll credit it to her. I appreciate the heads-up.
ReplyDeleteI think Adam's contests made quite a few people fans of different shows. I know I tried out several because of them. I'm glad Supernatural caught on your radar. I rarely follow shows online either (X-Files was my big exception before SPN) but I've found myself dropping several TV shows in order to get my SpoilerTV fix these days.
ReplyDeleteSupernatural has a way of doing that to you. I thought I was done with show obsession after X-Files and Buffy ended, but this show got my attention in the pilot and hooked me by Dead in the Water. I've never spent as much time on a TV show in my life.
ReplyDeleteI commiserate with you. I'm from the land of permanent ice and snow. It's like being in Narnia without the talking animals. It took me 2 days to chip the ice off the driveway enough to get the car out. Urgh! Someone please kick me when I complain about high humidity this summer.
ReplyDeleteI'm finding Twitter to be a better experience than I thought it would be - partly because of Jim and Misha's funny tweets. It's a great way to get quick news. And a lot of non-news. :-)
Hi, I'm Fátima and I'm from Brazil, where SPN has a huge fandom. I started watch it in 2005 because of Jared, that I loved so much in Gilmore Girls. My 1st ep was Phanton Traveler and I liked a lot and I became a viewer, but with Skin I became a fan.
ReplyDeleteI used to watch SPN at Warner Channel which is by cable here. I miss some eps 'cause it aired 10pm and I needed to wake up early to go to work. In the beginning of season 2 I was fired and couldn't afford with cable. Later that year a brazilian channel started SPN on Sundays after midnight, what was more difficult to watch, and unfortunately I stopped in the middle of S 2.
Due some personal issues I got a depression, so in October 2nd 2009 (I'll never forget this date), while I was zapping I found in that brazilian channel the ep Wendigo and I felt so good, like I didn't feel in a long time. This channel aired all the 4 seasons in the weekdays until Jan 2010. I could catch up the episodes and, I don't know how to say, SPN gave me a reason to live, a reason to wake up happy in the morning 'cause I'd watch them at night. And I wanted to study english again then I could read everything about the show and talk to other fans, I got the strenght to searching for a job to save money to buy the DVD (I've already bought S1 & 2), and step by step I'm back to normal life, thanks to Supernatural. Sam & Dean taught me fight against my personal demons.
After that how not to love SPN? I have my twitter, I vote all contests (I'm proud to help they won TV Guide cover), SPN is on my computer (almost five thousands pics), my cell phone, I download S6, and now I'm here.
Here a fan art I found few days ago
http://scottysdrawings.webs.com/supernatural.htm very talented.
Whatever it takes :D
ReplyDeleteThank you Dahne...I am already enjoying joining this community :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, no one sticks with a bad show for 6 seasons because of good looking actors. There has to be substance and supernatural has a bucket load of it ;)
And I would just like to add...I love your episode reviews. You have the art of narration...its always fun to relive the episode from another passionate fan's perspective...
Keep up the great work..
XOXO
Hi I'm Vi, I had posted something similar in another forum so;
ReplyDeleteI had caught some earlier episodes on the CW, but wasn't interested until I saw mystery spot; never had a show got me laughing so hard. So I tuned in again, and i think it was Ghostfacers, it was different, I thought "that's ballsy, and I like it." And then came the season 4 premiere; I was hooked from then on, the angel storyline got me thinking of so many theories, and before I knew it I was researching the show. And then when I found out the actors had a sense of humour in real life, it was only then, that I was attracted. And everything just roll-balled from there.
So there it is, the brief story of how I became a fan.
I've long been an admirer of many of the fanart made by fans, and especially in light of recent events (glares at CW) I thought it's time to contribute.
Here's a link to my deviantart that I just created:
http://trenchcoatedone.deviantart.com/#/d38rat6
Consider it as thanks to the site for keeping me updated on all SPN news. :)
(hope I did all of that alright, I'm not too tech savvy)
Sometimes I would if it is sad that I know all this stuff. Then I read your guys post and don't feel soo alone :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much. I appreciate the support.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing your story. I'm glad you are doing better. I love how you are fighting your personal demons. It's inspiring.
ReplyDeleteThanks also for sharing this artist. Very impressive.
Thanks for sharing your story and your artwork. It made me laugh. Kuddos! I guess we can add joined deviant art to what SPN has made me do.
ReplyDeleteMine will watch it with me. He likes the funny parts. He's not into horror or anything, won't even go to scary movies with me. But he knows what I'm talking about when I talk about anything Winchester. :) That's love.
ReplyDeleteI've never ever met anyone who actually has a Neilsen box. Has anyone?
ReplyDeleteHey maybe spoiler tv could do a thread linked to all tv shows asking that very same question. I would love to know who actually owns a Neilson box b/c it really ticks me off about the ratings.
ReplyDeleteHello fellow die-hard fans! Have you checked out the new web series Divine? It is currently in
