________

-Ratings Breakdown:
This was not a Monday night victory for ABC in the magnitude of soon-to-return Dancing with the Stars. But the ongoing strength of 8-10 p.m. time period warmer The Bachelor led the alphabet net to overnight Monday victory, with a three percent advantage over second-place CBS. Third overall was Fox, followed by NBC (which aired the Winter Olympics on the year-ago evening; hence the steep declines) and The CW.

The Bachelor, which concludes for the season on March 14, averaged a 7.3 rating/11 share from 8-10 p.m., building by half-hour as follows:

The Bachelor (ABC)
8:00 p.m.: 7.0/11 (#1)
8:30 p.m.: 7.1/10 (#1t)
9:00 p.m.: 7.4/11 (#2)
9:30 p.m.: 7.9/12 (#1)

Castle followed with a second-place 6.1/10 in the overnights for ABC at 10 p.m.

In week two news, CBS sitcom Mad Love finished third at 8:30 p.m. with a 5.3/ 8 in the overnights. Comparably, that dipped by nine percent from it’s week-ago season opener (5.8/ 9 on Feb. 14), with retention out of lead-in How I Met Your Mother (#3, 6.3/10 at 8 p.m.) of 84 percent. Consider this a respectable performance similar to recent occupant Rules of Engagement, which moves to Thursday at 8:30 p.m. out of The Big Bang Theory this week. And keep in mind that Mad Love opened with 8.74 million viewers and a 3.0 rating/8 share among adults 18-49 last week.

Also on CBS was a repeat of Two and a Half Men (#1: 7.7/11), which still won the 9 p.m. half-hour despite airing a non-original, followed by Mr. TV favorite Mike & Molly (#2: 7.5/11) and Hawaii Five-O (#1: 7.0/12).

In week three news, Fox crime solver The Chicago Code is now officially similar to former time period occupant Lie to Me, with a third-place 5.3/ 8 in the overnights at 9 p.m. (three-week overnight track: 6.8/10 – 5.2/ 8 – 5.3/ 8). Retention out of lead-in House (#2: 7.0/11 at 8 p.m.) was a decent 76 percent.

Elsewhere, NBC had another abysmal showing from 8-10 p.m. care of Chuck (#4: 3.5/ 5) and The Cape (#4: 2.6/ 4), which already had its episode order slashed. But recent older-skewing legal entry Harry’s Law perked up to a still third-place 5.8/10 at 10 p.m. The CW capped off the evening with 90210 (#5: 1.4/ 2) and Gossip Girl (1.2/ 2), which from an overnight standpoint are still “losers.”

  2. Hurray for The Chicago Code, glad to see people still watch real dramas on network television. Last night episode was awesome (again), this show is much ore than an usual copshow. And Chuck sticks with his 1.7% on the key demo, that's great.

  3. What happened to "House"? It used to be a ratings powerhouse for Fox. It's terribly sad that a "Two and a Half Men" repeat gets more viewers than an all-new episode of "House".

  4. Marc Berman really can't stand Chuck it seems...what else is new? It just occurred to me that the Monday Losers are always the same with him. Interesting...

Anyway I really think that it is awesome that H50 is doing so wonderfully! It's a great show and some remakes don't get to be like this :)

  5. Hey guys how do you's work out your ratings? E.g CW posted a 0.7/2 with adults 18-49. 90210
I'm just a little confused, what's the 0.7 and the 2 stand for?
