Kiefer Sutherland officially back to TV with FOX pilot

Kiefer Sutherland (24) has closed a deal to star in Fox drama pilot Touch, from Heroes creator Tim Kring. Touch centers on a father (Sutherland) who discovers that his autistic, mute son can predict events before they happen. Because of Sutherland's duties on Broadway where he currently stars in a revival of the Jason Miller's That Championship Season, Touch is expected start production in late May-early June after Sutherland fulfills his commitment to the play, now in previews. this is after the upfronts so its unclear if it has a blind series commitment or if it will be considered for mid-season later.

    Now I'm not. Anything by T. Kring turns bad sooner or later. Pretty much another version of Heroes. :p

    Dear God I hope it won't see the light of day. I love Kiefer Sutherland but I loathe Tim Kring, and the pitch is just so random & so bad.

    Besides, I'm sure they'll make a procedural out of it, with the kid predicting a crime at the beginning of the episode and then Kiefer and the police try to stop it for 40 minutes.

    Kiefer Sutherland deserves much, much better than this, I'd love to see him on screen again but in something better.

    I can see that everyone has a different opinion about the future show; but IMO when you start to watch and follow a series; you 're like addicted lol ! Just wait and see !

    at first I was intrigued 'coz Keifer is in there I was like "YAY 24 glory days are coming back" hoping for an action-centered plot just how 24 used to be .. but reading this, i don't know .. I'm a bit bummed =(

    Can't say I'm excited. I liked "24" (loved it in Seasons 4 and 5) but I can't picture Kiefer in anything else. Maybe I'm wrong but I find him somewhat one-dimensional.

    The storyline sounds promising and hopefully it can keep up with it. I don't want to watch another series like Heroes where the first episodes are interesting and then it just turned ridiculous at one point.

    Hey, I hope EW is right but they just said that Touch is one of the most promising pilots of the season ! I really hope this is true and that despite Tim Kring, a good series might come out of this.
