  1. Wow... That's pretty much every country ever! I don't know much about this sort of thing so I have to ask, is that kind of number normal, or ridiculously high?

  2. ridiculously high i think it'll probably be renewed now really like the show and was worried for it but it does relatively well in UK ratings despite the not so impressive US ones

  3. That's good news! It's probably because Matt LeBlanc stars, and Friends has been sold in every country in the world and aired a billion times imo, so with 'Joey' in here it must be appealing.

But even if Matt LeBlanc is hilarious in Episodes, all the other ingredients are a part of what makes this show a very good one : the british couple, the sharp writing (even if I didn't like the final scene of last sunday's episode...), Merc, Carol, Morning... everything works here.

2010/2011 definitely is a big year for Showtime : The Big C is the best new 'comedy' of last fall, Episodes is the best new comedy of 2011 and Shameless is one of the best dramas of the season. I hope The Borgias will be as good (even if that's not really my type of show, with Jeremy Irons in it, it must be worth watching).

Anyway : me wants a second season of Episodes. So all these sales around the globe are good news for a renewal (because, as Tariq said, ratings on Sunday nights on Showtime are not great).

  4. I always wonder how much these overseas rights mean to a show getting mediocre or downright low ratings in the US (its country or origin). I would think it wil lgt Episodes a second season, but how long will it continue to help if ratings do not go up? I've always suspected overseas sales mean little, and over seas syndication helps maybe just a little more. I'd be interested to hear from some one "in the know".

  5. Episodes is an international co-productions with BBC so i think UK ratings definately matter alot on this case. I know it helps Being Erica (CBC in Canada) significantly higher rated shows on its network get cancelled all the time but due to its international success despite its declining ratings over three years its still made it to a fourth and final season

  6. i think its overseas ratings (after the first few episodes) tanked though

  7. Thanks for the info. I know sometimes networks don''t make sense as to what gets cancelled, so it's nice to know it may make some difference! It seems to be hit or miss if the 100 episode goal for syndication makes a difference.. Seems like a few series have been cancelled one season, or even a short season away from 100 episodes and possible syndication...

  8. I had that in mind when thinking of how much it does not matter... It's nice to know it can make a difference occasionally....

  9. From my knowledge, not a lot. Flashforward for example had huge oversea buy
