Can't say that I am sorry to see it go. I tried really hard to make it through one scene but I could not. Horrid writing.

  2. Hmmm... right on cue. I think I said 5 or 6 episodes until it was cancelled or cut back. I wanted to like it, but it was just too cheesy and poorly executed. Even an actor I enjoy ,James Frain, could not make me interested to watch after 3 episodes. I loved the concept, but they went the completely wrong way in execution of the concept. They should have made it more of a drama based series not comic book... more "real world" and grounded.... less over the top cliche.

  3. From the first minute of the first episode, the dialogs and the writing were simply awful, I'm not sorry to see it go either. Still, it's too bad that they can't produce a conclusion to the show if they simply shut down production, that really sucks, I would have suffered but I would have watched it (I've seen the first 5 episodes), now that I know that I'm not sure if I'm going to continue watching it knowing it will lead us absolutely nowhere with zero sense of clusure in episode 10. The Summer Glau malediction continues (this time it didn't deserve to be saved though).

The Event might have its flaws but it is much better than The Cape, more ambitious, more addictive and far more entertaining. I hope NBC will rely on it now that they cancelled 2 of their new dramas (Undercovers and now The Cape).

  4. Sorry for cape fans but good news.NBC should have keep The Event. They could have given The Cape the
last hour but Instead hurt The Event with the long hituas.I for one refused to watch it over what NBC did.
Of course since I don't ahve nielson box I don't matter.

I love Summer Glau but she was wasted here. With exception of Sarah Connor Chronicles her best
projects have been with Joss Whedon.

  5. I'm not sure I NEED this show but I'm right there with you.

If a show as awful as Charmed or Smallville can go for so long, why not this one?

  6. To be fair to it, you had always expected it to be more drama based and more "real world." So, with you, it had an uphill battle... as it wasn't that show.

  7. I actually don't mind this show as much as most. I guess I never really saw it as anything other than a bit of "fluff," so didn't really delve into the bad dialogue and such. Plus, Summer Glau.

Then again, I won't be campaigning for it either. It's just a shame, as I was entertained watching it, though it never went any further than that.

    Plus Summer Glau.

    (Summer Glau).

  8. The whole concept of the show was wrong, I love Vinny Jones but he was badly directed in the first episode, he did redeem himself alittle in the scales episode tho... basically the stories draaagg, the action and dialogue is soo predictable, theres no twists, no thrills and no excitment.. the comic book feel looks like it has been forced upon the show, and the villan "CHESS" gorra lol at him, he is soo weak, not evil, not a genius, boring, if he was alittle bit camp or something maybe the show could be fun.. but the show is just basically, the cape does not like chess, poor him. The cape had the chance to leave the city and start a new life with his family - i would have, who gives a monkeys arse about crappy Chess, christ, the cape tortures himself over his family for no reason, just go see them, take off ur mask and move to Alaska and live happily ever after, it would have saved NBC money :D

wanted to love this show , but its just a waste of money and a poor super hero effort.. sorry fans of the show but i saw this comming after the borefest of the a pilot :(

  9. Yeah the first episode was ok and of course James Frain was wonderful as a bad guy(always is) But I just lost interest by the 2nd episode. Some points were just so ridiculous like the guy throwing the cards and killing people. I know its obviously an unrealistic show anyways, I mean its a superhero show, but it just got out there.

  10. Too bad. I watch it religiously. It wasn't given enough of a chance.
In my opinion, it was getting better with the character development.
If it stays on Sunday nights, it might still have a chance to survive.
    I need this show.

  11. Loved the 2 hour premiere and was startled at the drop in writing and content for the first 1 hour show. Sad it didn't work out!
