-Ratings Breakdown:
Due to President Obama’s State of the Union Address, all results in primetime are estimated. With that in mind, CBS won the 8 p.m. hour in the overnights care of an encore telecast of NCIS at an 8.7 rating/13 share. Even non-original episodes of NCIS still pack the audience in. Next was an abbreviated one-hour version of NBC’s The Biggest Loser (5.5/ 8), which always resonates among adults 18-49, followed by a repeat of Fox’s Glee (3.8/ 6), a repeat of ABC’s on-the-fence No Ordinary Family (#4: 3.0/ 5), and One Tree Hill on The CW (1.6/ 2). Considering One Tree Hill faced three repeats, this overnight performance is clearly a “loser.”
The approximate one-hour State of the Address performed as followed from 9-10 p.m.
State of the Union Address
CBS: 6.1/ 9
NBC: 6.0/ 9
ABC: 5.7/ 9
Fox: 2.6/ 4
Combined, this is a 20.4 rating/31 share in the overnights for the four broadcast networks. But keep in mind, again, that anything of a live nature is always estimated.
Over at The CW, freshman drama Hellcats moved into the Wednesday 9 p.m. hour with a 1.7/ 2, which was six percent above lead-in One Tree Hill. Let’s see what happens next week, of course, when Hellcats is facing regularly scheduled programming.
In the 10 p.m. half-hour was the response to President Obama’s speech as follows:
ABC: 5.7/ 9, CBS and NBC: 5.6/ 8 each
Filling the 10:30 p.m. half-hour was a repeat of The Big Bang Theory on CBS (4.4/ 7), continued news coverage on NBC (4.0/ 6), and a repeat of Cougar Town on ABC (2.6/ 4). As a reminder, all results from this evening are approximate.
