The SpoilerTV 2010 Awards ... And the winners are!

21 Dec 2010

Well it's now time to present our first ever annual SpoilerTV TV Awards 2010.

We've had well over 75,000 votes and unlike some other polls *cough* E!Online *cough* ours don't permit repeat votes so we hope that it's a much fairer representation of our readers choices, rather than just becoming a click fest.

So thanks for all the votes, links, comments and suggestions for next year. It's been a lot of fun.

Without further ado, here are the Winners and Runners up for all the categories. Just click the button of the award to reveal the winners. There is also a link to the full results which will be available very shortly.

Let us know in the comments if any of your picks managed to win, which ones surprised you and which ones disappointed you.

  1. Good job Fringe fans.

  2. Hmm, I only voted for one thing that won and that was Lost. Don't think I agree that much with the people voting on here, would have been nice to see Fringe win something but at least it's made it into a couple of second and third places.

Sorry to ask but I have no idea what some of the winners are as I can't tell from just a picture, could you possibly have the winners written too? Don't really need to know but it's slightly interesting to see what the people have picked.

  3. wow the only thing i vote win was **$$$ my day say *

    other thing didn't win :(

well its was great and wonderful idea for doing this ! bravo to spoilertv :D

  4. At least Fringe got some...placings...but alas. Those Supernatural fans are just never ending. I love Jensen Ackles, I do, but COME ON. John Noble > Jensen and also Ian...and Matthew Fox (whom I LOVE). John > everyone else in the world, And Nina is surprisingly well at doing Katherine and Elena differently but Anna Torv being Our Olivia, Alternate Olivia, Alternate Olivia pretending to be Our Olivia, Our Olivia thinking she is Alternate Olivia via brainwashing plus Our Olivia slowing remembering she is Our Olivia and not Alternate Olivia...Anna just blows Nina out of the water.

Shoulda been a Fringe fest but alas. (Alas is kinda my favorite word if you hadn't noticed.)

  5. I'm very happy for Supernatural and Jensen!!!
I hope Jared was in top 3 too!

  6. Thanks for letting me know, I guess I was being blind and silly not realising that, I think that's what happens at one thirty in the morning

    ReplyDelete
  7. BTW I loved you "cough" comment about polls that allow multiple voting!!! Hilarious and I couldn't agree more! Multiple voting is so meaningless!

    ReplyDelete
  8. I did as well as I'd expected, which was not well at all.

BTW - am I the only one who clicks the Full Results links and gets thrown back to the active polls, rather than ended ones?

    ReplyDelete
  9. I didn't try to vote, so maybe active is the wrong word. But the page I get lists the polls the way they looked when they were open. With no end results, no link to the results and no indication that the poll has been closed.

  10. Congratulations for all the winners! Althuogh I'm a bit disappointed fringe hasn't won at least one of the categories :(

    ReplyDelete
  11. Once again "those Supernatural Fans" show their dedication. Happy to see the best returning show & best lead actor results.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Jensen and Supernatural winning = j what a joke, sorry Spn fans, just look at names like Lost and Bryan Cranston and get your reality check. Nina Dobrev better than Anna Torv? Jesus.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Everyone's entitled to their opinion. I happen to think that Lost was a terrible show, but I realise that other people really enjoyed it, and it had such a massive fanbase, it completely deserved to take best show ended in 2010.

  14. Wow, over 75000 votes? Way to go Spoiler TV! Only 3 of my votes actually turned into winners (Best New Show, Best Returning Show and Best Actor in a Comedy), but I did call a few of the other ones. Categories that took me by surprise: Nina Dobrev for Best Actress in a Drama. I am not a VD fan, and I was sure Anna Torv would win based on the comments. Lea Michelle for Best Actress in a Comedy: I think I'm just blinded by my love of Jane Lynch, but I really expected her to win! James Frain for his turn on True Blood: I've never heard of him, and I don't watch TB, so I didn't really consider him as a contender. The Simpsons for Best Animated: wow, I didn't think they still had it, but they do! Chuck vs. Phase 3 for best ep: I really thought that Lost would win this category, particularly as they didn't have multiple episodes up to split the vote, and it was the last ep...but kudos to the Chuck fans anyway.

And actually, speaking of Chuck, how come Zachary Levi was in the Best Actor in a *Comedy* section, while Yvonne Starhovski was in the Best Actress in a *Drama* section?

    ReplyDelete
  15. That worked. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Cant say im surprised.....but i will say i am extremely disappointed. Fringe is an EPIC show ..... and has THE MOST OUTSTANDING actor in it on tv at the moment....Mr John Noble is simply BRILLIANT! But if the EMMYS and the SAG's ignore him then i guess i shouldnt be surprised that he is ignored here. And Anna Torv....well she is a class above Nina Dobrev....but she wasnt recognised for her AWESOMENESS here either. I cannot believe that Fringe did not win any category. I love it no matter what! The only positive here is that the final 2 categories listed actually got the winners correct.....LOST is the best show ended/cancelled ...and S@$t My Dad Says is the worst new show (hands down). I am one disappointed Fringe obsessed fan!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Lol true. No matter what competition is gonna happen we know supernatural is gonna win so no surprise there (not that it's bad thing). I love Jenden he's talented but John Noble is doing one hell of a job..
And i'd like to know who voted for that Glee kids :/

    ReplyDelete
  18. Well done Supernatural fans!!! :) Two awards!!! Thats really amazingly great :P

Well that just goes to show just how awesome Supernatural fans are! I'm really glad to be part of a fanbase that are just so passionate and dedicated!! :D

Also thanks to SpoilerTV for making this competition :) Saved me from boredom for the first bit of the Christmas hiatus :)

    ReplyDelete
  19. Congratulations Supernatural !!!!! It's awesome!!!! Congratulations to Supernatural fans! ^^ We made a great job!
Jensen Ackles !!!!!! yeah!!!!!! Really AMAZING!
Supernatural, Jensen Ackles and Misha Collins in the top 3! Wowwwww ! I'm so happy for this series! <3

    ReplyDelete
  20. As much as I love Supernatural (and believe I do!) and Jensen Ackles (because he is an amazing actor!), him winning over actors such as John Noble and Matthew Fox is a bit too much. (the fangirl in me is protesting a bit at this, but I do believe it is true). Pretty happy with the rest of the results though! Except maybe for Nina Dobrev ( though I think her acting is amazing, she is brilliant as Elena&Catherine) winning over Anna Torv.

Can't wait for the next contest! :)

    ReplyDelete
  21. if that many moire people voted for supernaturalk or vampire diaries than those other shows, maybe you should get a reality check because clearly they are very popular

    ReplyDelete
  22. obviously very happy for all the supernatural and vampire diaries wins
i think pretty much every winner was well deserved, even if not my pick
really enjoyed this comp so thanks for doing it!!! :D

    ReplyDelete
  23. I recall saying "why bother voting? Supernatural fans will make their show win anyway"... I read everywhere than SPN should have stopped seconds away from the 5th season finale, and they chose to continue for money even if Kripke was leaving and even if the story had a perfect ending in episode 5.22 - minus the last scene. Season 6 sucks and it comes from (former) fans, so I'm surprised (or not, because one could have known that SPN was going to win any category it was into on this website, no matter what). I'm not judging, I haven't seen the show yet and I plan to actually, but in these conditions how can a show like that be the best returning show?

And several good actors or actresses could have make a good impression by ending up 2nd or 3rd, but even there, there are SPN and TVD actors. The Vampire Diaries & Supernatural are the best shows ever created (so say the results of the big summer contest) and they continue to be the best things that air on TV, cool.

On a more joyful note, I'm glad that Chuck made his way through this competition in 3 categories : best actor in a comedy, best episode, and 2nd in the 'best actress in a comedy' category. It is completely deserved, even if I voted for other people (even though I knew Danny McBride or Amy Poehler could never have won in here, well at least they have one fan on this website).

But even if Sarah was all kick-ass in Chuck vs. Phase Three, I don't think this is the best episode of 2010... dozens of episodes of less popular shows could have won this, and even another episode of Chuck imo (Chuck vs. The Anniversary (4.01) is the best episode of the 4th season so far).

I think Nikita is far better than The Walking Dead, surprisingly. Maybe because I had the greatest expectations for The Walking Dead and each episode (excet the pilot and the 5th) was a huge disappointment, while I didn't expect much from Nikita (it airs on the CW) and yet I'm still hooked. The 11th was a killer episode, really.

I don't understand how can people see The Event as the 3rd worst show of 2010! Chase, Hellcats, Mike & Molly, Better With You, Outlaw, LOLA, The Defenders, The Whole Truth, these would have make sense but The Event, I don't get it. It might be stupid sometimes and I don't like several cast members but it is quite addictive and they develop a serialized story, something that so few shows dare to do on networks these days. The Event actually is on my top 5 of this fall with The Big C, Raising Hope, Nikita and Rubicon.

No Ordinary Family looks like its target audience is children from 8 to 12 because the writers are making such clichés characters, dialogs, situations, everything is laughable, really, and it's sad when you have Michael Chicklis and Julie Benz in the cast. The writing is just poor, with no nuances whatsoever. Still, I continue to watch it, there are enjoyable moments from times to times, the first 3 episodes are the hardest to go through and after that it's watchable, so it's nothing like the crappy CBS comedy 'Shit my Dad Says'.

Caprica and Dollhouse are awesome shows but 24 should have been next to Lost, but I guess it's not as popular on the web as those two sci-fi shows with wide fanbases (Battlestar Galactica and Joss Whedon's).

    ReplyDelete
  24. after reading that entire post, my only comment is, yay! go watch supernatural, its awesome!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. yeah! supernatural rocks!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yah Jensen Ackles won! Made my morning and yes, well deserved. While some gripe about Supernatural fans, the fact that this voting system allowed only one vote makes me happy to know that many fans recognize Jensen's talent.

    ReplyDelete
  27. YAY for Supernatural and Jensen Ackles!!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Well, Fringe obtained two second positions, two third positions (it would be second in Best Episode if counting together all the votes per show) and two fifth positions. Not bad, even if I had voted it first in all those categories.

Admitting there are enormous fanbases here for Supernatural and TVD, I'm glad to see that Fringe is about the third fanbase (in numbers) in this website. I don´t know about Chuck, it must be good, but I've never seen it.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Alright people you need to get over the Fact that Supernatural and Jensen Ackles won. Everyone had their chance to vote. And yes the Supernatural fans made it happen, they have a devout following to the show. So they won acouple of poll categories, get over it. Next time there are polls like this, maybe you should round up all the fans of the show/person you want to see and vote.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Thank you, thank you. This was tremendous fun and I'm sad it's over. I wish LOST had gotten more love, but it might be a lot to expect as the finale was a whole 7 months ago. The best thing about partaking in this poll is I've learned about some TV shows I've never given much consideration (looks like I'd better check out Supernatural!), and I've had a chance to express my opinions (people, watch The Good Wife. You will like it). I've read some very thoughtful comments and I've had some laughs. Back I go to "real life," wishing you all Happy Holidays.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Amen to that. Finally, someone that talks sense.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Yay for Supernatural and Jensen!! They deserve it!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Ah, this totally made my morning. So awesome for Supernatural and Jensen! And the fact that you could only vote once makes it even better, it shows that Supernatural's awesomeness and Jensen's talent don't go unnoticed :D

    ReplyDelete
  34. Since you haven't seen the show for yourself, you should really reserve judgment, don't you think? Just because some fans don't like the sixth season, doesn't mean we all feel that way. I, for one, love Season 6. In actuality, it has been very polarizing for viewers, because this season is so unlike any of the previous five. I personally applaud a show that can still keep it fresh and interesting in its sixth year, rather than kicking back and continuing with the same formula. It is for that reason that we would vote it the best returning show of 2010.

As for Jensen Ackles, watch the show and you'll understand why we love him. He deserves every accolade he gets, and then some. By virtue of being on the CW, Supernatural and its actors are criminally ignored. Do you really think the fanbase would be so devoted to a mediocre show?

It's probably best not to believe everything you read :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. Supernatural won two important awards but its fans didn't walk off with everything they could have won :
No Favourite Guest Star Award for SPN (even if you add all the SPN choices they wouldn't have beaten James Frain)
No Best Episode Award for SPN (even if you add all the SPN choices they wouldn't have beaten Chuck episode)

SPN, TVD and Chuck have all won two Awards BUT SPN has only one 3rd place (for Guest Star) whereas TVD has three 2nd places and Chuck has two 2nd places and one 3rd place.

The real winner of these Awards is Chuck, followed by TVD then by SPN.

(TVD and Chuck were nominated in one more categorie than SPN but it doesn't change the final ranks)

    ReplyDelete
  36. Fringe rules!
    We did well, Cortexifans!

    ReplyDelete
  37. If Supernatural manages to win "best returning show" even in these conditions, just think about how totally awesome it must have been before ;)

    ReplyDelete
  38. Yay!
Supernatural, Jensen Ackles AND Misha Collins won something! :D
I'm so happy! Well done SPN fans!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Dobrev is WAY better than Torv. She's playing 2 different characters brilliantly.

    ReplyDelete
  40. there ya go supernatural and jensen ackles for the win BOOOOJ`YYAAAAH!!!! :D

but congrats to ian somerhalder and the vamp diaries aswell you're my secon fave show :D

    ReplyDelete
  41. So happy to see that Jensen Ackles won for Best Lead in a Drama. He certainly deserves it.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Supernatural best returning show? Really? O_O AND NINA DOBREV BEST ACTRESS? I can't even begin to explain all the things that seem soooo wrong in the results :(

    ReplyDelete
  43. Well, I could argue that Bryan Cranston is WAY better than John Noble (and anyone else on the list for that matter) but he only got 66 votes.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Funny how LOST barely edged out Fringe for the 4th place among the returning shows and instead Entrada barely edged out The End for the 3rd place among the best episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Best Show Ended / Cancelled in 2010 and Best Love Triangle ITA on them winning but the rest ?? SRSLY ??

    ReplyDelete
  46. interesting results in some of the categories...

    ReplyDelete
  47. Worst new show! I don't believe it!

    ReplyDelete
  48. I'm so happy for Nina, Lea, Jensen, Supernatural and the TVD love triangle:) exactly my opinion:)

    ReplyDelete
  49. I literally went 'YESSSSS!!!!' when I saw that SPN and Jensen won. And Misha in 3rd place isn't so bad. :)

    ReplyDelete
  50. Season 6 sucks huh??? Says who exactly??? Former fans??? When did they stop watching??? Before or after season 6 began??? man! I'm so tired of this same old ****! FYI season 6 is awesome, everyone knows who these so called former fans are and I can guarantee you they are just a small minority...

P.S. Supernatural and Jensen won! YAY!!!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Oh and by the way, that picture of Jensen is HOT.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I'm not surprised none of what I voted for won except "Lost" for best show ended. Usually the way it goes. I am just so shocked that Supernatural won, geez. It doesn't seem to have many fans here. Oh John Noble...snubbed again, not even 3rd place. I still think Fringe should've at least had best actress and love triangle. Now THAT's a love triangle!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Supernatural is not "the best returning show of 2010". It was a good show up to the fifth season but the sixth season is just not as good follow up as it is per say the second season of The Vampire Diaries. I am a fan of both series but SPN dissapointed me while TVD completely charmed me (I didn't like the first season half much as I now like the second one). But nevertheless - Jensen still remains a great actor and if it was possible, I'd give the first place to both, Ian and Jensen. And I'm not talking that because of their good looks. They actually do act very good. I was a bit surprised when the poll marked Misha Collins as a guest star which he is not. The love triangle, though, is spot on.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Best returning show, best actor and best actress winners are a COMPLETE FAIL to be honest.

Other than that, awesome job Dark :) It's been fun to follow.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I don't understand why people choose beauty over acting ability.

    ReplyDelete
  56. The Walking Dead surprised me. Hawaii Five O is so much better.

    ReplyDelete
  57. YES! Supernatural won the best returning show.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Alright, Jensen Ackles as Best Actor. They don't come any better than him.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I'm not surprised by Nina Dobrev. Vampire Diaries has a pretty major following too.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I still do not see how Misha Collins could even be in the running. The man was not a guest star in Seasons Five or Six. He's a regular.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I voted for Stefan, Elena, and Damon. I'm not surprised at the win at all.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Good write up and I agre for the most part! Many of the worst show "winners" were not close to the worst new show in my eyes... or according to ratings either. There is little doubt this (and other sites) skew towards a different demographic than Awards shows on TV. So if you want a more accurate reflection of superior artistic achievement ... you can always watch the TV awards shows. Atleast most of them do not allow fan voting! LOL. That being said this was a fun contest to me!! It was more than a a challenge to guess how everyone would vote, knowing ahead of time that I could not go with my instinct on ANY category.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Who exactly are you talking about?

    ReplyDelete
  64. Thanks for all of the effort Dark/Adam :)! I loved our mini emmys and being able to give shows that don't get noticed love (like Chuck :D)!

Still, I don't know how I feel about the results. I appreciate that everyone is entitled to an opinion, but I feel that the votes went to fan favourites.

Best Returning Show is obviously a very subjective thing, so Supernatural winning is fine by me. Good job guys :).

The problem I have is in the awarding of many of the best actors/actresses. For example, there's no doubt in my mind that Jensen Ackles is a phenomenal actor; however, objectively speaking, Jon Hamm, Michael C. Hall, Bryan Cranston (I think you see the trend here) are superior. Jensen Ackles is great at being a vulnerable tough guy, but that's pretty much all we see on him. Not that he can't do more, it's just that that's how his character is written on Supernatural.

The other actors I mentioned are more experienced and are afforded more range in their roles. They get to show off their acting chops more liberally and always rise to the task. I don't even like Mad Men that much and I can see why Jon Hamm always gets nominated. I hope raging Supernatural/Vampire Diaries fans can appreciate my point.

    ReplyDelete
  65. It's a bit like Oscars: eveybody tries to bring their movie out the last possible minute so it is fresh in the memories of the Academy.

Though Lost had just one award, I am very happy for it because it shows how strong people felt even after so many months from its finale.

    ReplyDelete
  66. That's the way the world is run nowadays :)

Look at the singers making it Top 10: any ugly ones? If there is one slightly ugly than it means he/she can REALLY sing! - apart from heavy bands that try to run on Ugly, Bad and Stinky competitions :)

    ReplyDelete
  67. Well I voted Jensen because Dean is my favorite character and Jensen's acting is probably why I like the character so much, he has great comic timing, he's good in dramatic scenes despite at times having to overcome really bad dialogue. As a straight male I can definitely say I didn't vote based on looks so I don't know what category you want to put me in.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Most of what I voted for lost.Except for Lost as best ended show. The Simpsons as best animated show shows some like It still.Nina DObrev defently Is worthy of best lead actress in Drama.I strongly disagree
on the Event as one of worst TV Shows.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Hey -as a Supernatural I appreciate the fairness of your comment. :)

    ReplyDelete
  70. Actually, Supernatural does have many fans here. It also has one of the strongest and most dedicated fan bases.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I agree with almost the whole list except TV actress Drama, it should've been either Yvonne or Anna . ( I'd pick Yvonne)

    ReplyDelete
  72. Well.
    Supernatural wins again.
    And with no repeat voting.
    Likewise Jensen Ackles.
    So.

    Yaaaaaaaayyyyyyy!!!!!

    Merry Christmas Supernatural fans :D

    ReplyDelete
  73. One thing this poll has achieved is convince me that I really need to start watching 'Fringe'...I'm getting the first season for Christmas. :)

    ReplyDelete
  74. before i write anything i have to say that i am devoted Jared fan. But Peter thank you Peter for defending Jensen, he is simply a genius, he deserves to win, and i love him to death. Yeah he is pretty as hell, but Ana you should really watch him work, before you say anything!

    ReplyDelete
  75. Supernatural have the strongest abd most dedicated fans ever. and proudly i say, i am one of them.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Just wanted to point out that not enjoying season 6 doesn't automatically mean stop watching! I've been watching Supernatural since 2006 and used to loved it (would say I was obsessed with it). I'm still watching because I am hoping for it to improve but I'm just not enjoying it any more. I will be picking Fringe over Supernatural next year as in my opinion it's having a better season, however if I have nothing to do I may watch the repeats on Wednesday. I may be in the small minority as you say but I don't like giving up on a show I've spent years watching, I try to stay till the end, once I've invested more than a couple of years I want to stay and see what happens however bad it gets. Sorry to disappoint you but I really would have preferred it to have ended by now, maybe it's just me though. Perhaps I will watch all the repeats, perhaps not but may borrow a friends dvds of this and future seasons (if there are more) and watch them just to see what happens.

    ReplyDelete
  77. i love 6th season. Who says it sucks ? haven't heard a fan saying it, and believe me i know a lot of Spn fans. I get, that you are not a fan after all.

    ReplyDelete
  78. WHAT, Jensen is clearly the best actor over there.

    ReplyDelete
  79. yeah me too, he really is a good actor. specially in this season, playing bad suits him. Love him a lot.

    ReplyDelete
  80. That is so great that Jensen won Best Actor in a Drama Series and Supernatural won Best Returning Show. I am a little disappointed Jared was not in the top 3. He has done an excellent job so far this year. However I will take Jensen just as well. Congrats to Jensen and Supernatural. They are both very deserving of the title. Strong work to all the fans voting. SPN rules!

    ReplyDelete
  81. supernatural won. thank you everyone. and got over 1000 points more than the 2nd place.
And Jensen is clearly the best, Jared got 823 points and is 5th. Good job baby. :D
and i like Nina Dobrev a lot, she is a good actress. so yeah great winners this year.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Cool, thanks. :) I wonder what caused that?

    ReplyDelete
  83. Yay :). I'm glad.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Totally agree! I cannot grasp how people invest years of their life into a series and then stop watching it when it slows or changes to them. I can see not watching it live or the night it airs, but if I like a show enough to watch it from pilot to season 3 (or 4 or 6 or more) I feel a need to keep watching until it finishes. Maybe part of that is I watch a lot of serialized shows and they tend to have a story evolving until the very end. I can see how it would be easy to stop watching a procedural. What would you miss... more of the same....

    ReplyDelete
  85. \O/ !!!!!!!!

    YES!!!!!!! WOOT!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  86. I am sad. I spend days clicking repeatedly. Ok, not days. I have the occasional click-fest. ;P

BUT!!!! I'm with you Dark. A victory in a vote-once poll is WORLDS sweeter than one in a repeat-vote poll.

I rather enjoy click-fests though. It's mindless, therapeutic and makes me drool.

    ReplyDelete
  87. I'm so happy Jensen won. He definitely deserves it. Heck if the people in the "academies" are too stupid recognize his talent, it doesn't mean we have to be. We can give him the recognition, even if it doesn't get to show up on his resume. :D He works so hard and he does such a wonderful job, all the time.

PS: Don't you think you should put the name on all the pictures, like I have no idea who the guy who won best guest star is and there is no name identifying him. I have no idea what show won for Best Episode.

    ReplyDelete
  88. 1. KRIPKE NEVER LEFT!!!! HE'S STILL INVOLVED WITH THE SHOW. If I have to say that one more time...

    2. If they are saying Season 6 sucks, of course they are "former" fans. Fan bases evolve. Some stay, some go. Fans have their own favorite seasons. Many enjoyed S1-S2 best. Many like the latter ones of S4-S5. YOu have fans that are enjoying S6 more than others, and some simply don't like it. Some feel the show is getting weaker. Some feel it's getting stronger. Then you have those, like me, that have enjoyed every season, for different reasons and is waiting very impatiently for Jan 28th. Good grief, a show can't please _every_ single one of it's fans.

    3. You haven't seen the show yet...?????? O.O

    4. You NEEEEEEEED to watch it. Hopefully then you'll understand why we're all so crazy.

    :)

    ReplyDelete
  89. I didn't actually vote for Supernatural in anything except Jensen Ackles for Actor, because much as I can't stand most of what has happened on the show, I think he's been fantastic and he's why I still watch it. The only reason I still watch it, just for his acting.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Are you talking about Jensen? Because believe me I would not still be watching this show if his only ability was the ability to look beautiful. It's always a nice bonus but looks have never held me to a show, film or actor longer than maybe a few weeks. Ackles deserves this, he makes great writing even better and he can make mediocre or lesser writing standable.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Jenny,

I see where you are coming from. I'm curious if you are enjoying the latter eps of S6 than the earlier ones. I'll be honest, the first 3 eps were a bit...off. Not bad really, but just off. But for some reason ep4 and on have had me on the edge of my seat sucked to the screen. Maybe it took them a bit to get their feet since the characters were so altered for a time.

Anyway, I hope you find enjoyment from this season in the future :)

Also, you rock, because you were actually able to provide a dissenting opinion without bashing the show needlessly. Some people out there don't have that level of maturity.

  92. "The problem I have is in the awarding of many of the best actors/actresses. For example, there's no doubt in my mind that Jensen Ackles is a phenomenal actor; however, objectively speaking, Jon Hamm, Michael C. Hall, Bryan Cranston (I think you see the trend here) are superior. "

There is nothing "objective" about. By nature it is subjective opinion. :) Jensen Ackles does get to be more than than on Supernatural(vulnerable tough guy) - in fact that is part of what makes him a great actor. He's taken a character that could be two dimensional and shown so much more to him, often times even when it's not written in the script.

  93. It comes down to the fact that the haters tend to be louder than the rest of the fans. And when I say haters, please know I am not talking about those that are unable to supply their opinions and arguments without dipping into the swamp of visceral comments and immaturity. Many have simply not liked the direction that the show was going and have chose to stop watching it. The healthy choice, lol. I myself am still very much enjoying the show.

    ReplyDelete
  94. its mainly because the show can be divided up into many categories. Zach is mainly in the comedy, romance and action section, while yvonne is the opposite, shes mainly action first, romance and then comedy. its kinda a show that has it all. but if you catch a clip of phase 3 (season 4) youll prob see mainly why yvonne has been put into action.

sorry that was really long winded.

    ReplyDelete
  95. There are tons of Vampire Diaries and Supernatural votes I don't agree with, but I'm not surprised, it's always that way. Ultimately all those deserving to be recognized by getting top three [or just a percent off in the case of "The End"] were picked.

Small complaint. Michael C Hall pulled in 2.5%, hardly a percent over the rest of the pack. Having watched the majority of nominated actors, Michael C Hall grabs second place easily for me.

Large complaint. Bryan Cranston pulled in less than half of a percent. I've never seen a better acting job, whether it be television or movies. All of you reading this, go watch Breaking Bad and thank me later.

    ReplyDelete
  96. I'm actually pretty happy with a lot of these. SPN, Jensen. YES! And I don't disagree with several of the other choices, either. Nice results all around, I think.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Anna Torv is also playing two different characters brilliantly. The fact that you didn't acknowledge this shows that you don't really have a justified opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  98. You just made my day! You won't regret it, it's an amazing show and great community to be a part of!

    ReplyDelete
  99. in best actress in a drama theres a typo, its strahovski not starhovski

    ReplyDelete
  100. lovin those results: chuck 409 first in best episode, zachary levi best actor in drama, yvonne strahovski 2nd best actress in a drama, chuck 3rd best returning show, $#*! my dad says worst new show

    ReplyDelete
  101. WOOOO! Voted for Supernatural, Jensen Ackles, Nina Dobrev, Elena/Stefan/Damon, The Simpsons, Lost, and $#!+ My Dad Says!! Yuuuuuus! :D I'm SUUUUUPER happy with the results! :D

    ReplyDelete
  102. Lol, happy to have made your day! It's a show that I've been meaning to check out for a while, but I've just never had the chance and this competition kind of threw it into sharp relief and piqued my interest in it again. :)

    ReplyDelete
  103. No, thanks for taking the time to reply, I was genuinely interested. :)

    ReplyDelete
  104. You mean "why _some_ people". Not everyone did. Supernatural is my absolute favorite show, and I think Jensen is a great actor. However, I chose Michael C Hall as the best actor. I chose Supernatural as the Best Returning Show because I feel that it is the most all around greatest show that I have seen (so far). Otherwise, I would not be watching it, nor would I consider it my favorite.

I enjoy watching The Mentalist, Dexter, and White Collar as well...but none chew on my heart and soul as does Supernatural. :D that _may_ have sounded a bit psychotic. LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  105. I think he was being sarcastic, lol

    ReplyDelete
  106. For your curiosity, yeah I am enjoying it more than I was. I did actually like the most recent episode, which pleases me. I thought that it was a good episode where you were actually wondering what was going to happen as opposed to others where I've not cared that much. While watching it I was wondering what was going to happen and was thinking how possibly the next person on the list to die could be Bobby which would have been quite interesting. I will watch Supernatural till the end whatever happens, I just hope to have more enjoyment out of it.

Thanks for the comment about not bashing the show, I see no point in purposefully upsetting or annoying people on the internet just because I no longer feel the same way. Everyone has different opinions and should be allowed to express that but there is no point in doing it in a mean way. I would hope even the biggest fans (of anything) should understand there are some people who will never like the shows they love. A good example is my sister, she would find Supernatural too scary/gory so I'm never going to try and make her like it.

    ReplyDelete
  107. SPN most likely did not win the best episode contest because it was to spread out. This is just me trying to make an educated guess though. It's very difficult to choose only one favorite SPN episode because I have so many to choose from. Not sure if I could decide.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Thanks. We also don't have any of the major awards like Oscars/Emmys etc. Those people see the letters "CW" and they tend to avert their eyes. So we have to release our pent up frustration and energy in competitions such as these. Or People's Choice Awards. Or TV Guide Covers. Don't worry. Eventually the show will conclude, and we'll all disappear. Or migrate over to Japanese websites.

    ReplyDelete
  109. When I say objective, I mean that, were a team of talent scouts to sit down with a grading rubric and give each of the actors a mark based on their performances, the three I mentioned would come out ahead of the others. Obviously, you can never escape subjectivity completely. Jensen Ackles is awesome and I definitely didn't say otherwise.

Let's talk Nina Dobrev. She's undoubtedly a good actress, but she is hardly better than some of the other leading ladies on the list. Jennifer Carpenter from Dexter? Elizabeth Mitchel (so much said with her eyes!)? Elizabeth Moss? They all have a wider range of emotions on hand when they perform. Still, I'm sure that most people are impressed with Dobrev's turn as her doppleganger self.

My point is that these awards are a popularity contest. No matter how excellent someone's acting or a show might be, Supernatural and Vampire Diaries have the most rabid fan bases on SpoilerTV. I don't blindly vote for LOST every time a poll shows up.

    ReplyDelete
  110. oops, XD I had to remove a very crucial "not" from a sentence. my what a difference a word makes, lol

    ReplyDelete
  111. Congratulations to the winners, the shows that won definitely deserved it. And I say that because we make it deserve it.

I'm really happy that spn won for best returning show, which is the one that IMO is the possibly the best award to get. Also happy that Jensen won. :)

    ReplyDelete
  112. Well i think the world has gone mad.

    ReplyDelete
  113. I cant believe supernatural is so popular, its a kids show i watched the first 7 episodes and couldnt take anymore, its for teen girls thats it.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Good to know. If anyone out there can find a way for me to shed 17 years off my age, let me know so I can continue watching this show. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Wrong. I'm waaaaay past my teens.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Nope. It's just gone the way of the internet embedded fandoms. I'm sure if all the viewers of The Mentalist (which is one of the highest rated shows on TV now) were to log on, visit the Spoiler TV site, and vote, then their show would have won hands down. A lot of the shows that win online polls are winning them because their fans/viewers are heavy computer users. For that I apologize.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Hey, go f*** yourself. Supernatural is NOT a teen show! I am in my twenties and i like it. I love it just as much as Lost. I am absolutely estatic that Jensen won! And i am estatic that Lost won for best show that ended!

    ReplyDelete
  118. I'm a big fan of Supernatural but I would've gone for Chuck for best returning series. This season has been greater and this season of Supernatural. Glad Jensen won best actor, and by the way Ian will always be BOONE over Damon =P And finally I am SO glad The Walking Dead won Best New Show

    ReplyDelete
  119. 24 definitely should have been in the top three.

Chuck has had some great episodes this season but it always seems to be the episodes later in the season that are in polls.

I have seen The Vampire Diaries and tried to watch it but it just makes me so sick of vampires now.

And finally I will agree/admit to being one of those fans that wished Supernatural ended before that final scene at the end of season 5. I am still a fan of the show in general and there are good moments in the new season but that's mostly it. Of course though because there is such a big fanbase for the show who still LOVE it, it always gets highly voted in fan polls.

    ReplyDelete
  120. You know, I wasn't going to say anything but I just have to. I understand that you are upset by what Stuart Radzinsky said, but responding as you did does nothing for the reputation of the SPN fanbase. The main part of your comment I don't object to, just the first sentence. I agree SPN is not a teen show, but a response like that is uncalled for.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Chuck, Fringe and the Vampire Diaries are very favorite at this site. (are also mine fav shows ;))

    ReplyDelete
  122. I'm torn... I like what Taryn said and I like what you said. Crap. Multiple personalities suck.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Yeah I can relate ;P

    ReplyDelete
  124. Yay for nina dobrev winning the best actress part. She deserves that, because she manages to play two characters, two different characters differently.

Yes A. Storv also does that for fringe, but IMO, the difference is not felt. both Olivias are eventually same person, just one is "eeeeevil". There's a reason on why the show separates them by their hair color.

Nina Dobrev on other hand....no need to differentiate - she manages to be different, yet similar with both characters and sometimes you start to think that there are two different actors playing those characters. Every character gimmick of Elena and Katherine feels different and that highlights their character similarities even more.

Now on worse part. Supernatural as best returning show? I am sorry, what? With all due respect for this hsow, it has went to the crapper since the start of season four and did not return from there. After two seasons of boring angel slugfest and angst and hilariously bad season 5 finalle, the show returned for the sixth season, but it seemingly has lost its soul in the process - Every episode is disjointed and slow, characterizations of characters are all over the place and whatever continuity show had is lost, not to mention that the plot is going nowhere....and doing that at snail's pace. IMO if not for biased fangirls, Vampire Diaries should have taken this category.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Given the results, I reinforce my previous request: changing the categories names to "favorite" instead of "best". And again... I know pretty much nobody cares, but I just tought I should say it since it kinda really bothers me. Yes, I am THAT boring.

    ReplyDelete
  126. So, in your opinion, no actor (or actress) who is considered 'beautiful' can't possibly be good? The two are mutually exclusive? I don't believe an actor should be judged on the basis of his or her looks, but by performance. I did vote for Jensen Ackles, but because he has created a character that I have come to really care about. Of course it doesn't hurt that he's easy on the eyes -- the majority of actors are good looking because the public responds to that -- but talent and ability is not based on whether they are good looking or not. It's based on whether they can move people to the point of actually caring about a character enough to be interested in what happens to them on a weekly basis. So I can't agree that this poll chose beauty over acting ability. Just because they're good looking doesn't mean they aren't talented. They can be both and quite a few of them are.

    ReplyDelete
  127. "IMO if not for biased fangirls, Vampire Diaries should have taken this category."

That's an interesting comment considering the fan bases of both shows. I thank you for considering me a biased fangirl. Being a fan of SPN is better than botox for keeping me young!

    ReplyDelete
  128. I strongly disagree. Check out the demos for ages 18-49 and then ttry saying that again. Really, you're not forced to like Supernatural and disrespecting it for no reason is uncalled for, especially for the fans, who are not all 'teen girls' watching a 'kids show'. This poll was meant to be fun, so please don't be so horrible. Supernatural is amazing and so is its fanbase.

    ReplyDelete
  129. I completely understand what you mean. The winners where by no means the best. Polls like this are just popularity contests. Maybe I'm just bitter that Fringe didn't win anything, when I personally see it to have been unbelievable this season (both the acting and the writing).

    At least Chuck won something.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Yes, maybe you have right since your perspective but why "our favorites" or "others favorites" can't not be The Best as well?

So in that case The Walking Dead is not the best new show? Or The Simpson is not the Best animated show just because the're so popular? If this was only a popularity contest, so why Grey's Anatomy, Bones or Criminal Minds don't win the best returning show considering that this show's have better audience than SPN, TVD, Chuck or Fringe? That's because people here see the quality of this show beyond the popularity. Some people thinks (I'm not saying you exactly but others do) that SPN win only because have a strong fan-base, but been objective, if a show like SPN, that is not from a major Network and is not only a girl-show (because my brother and my father watch the show and they don't see it only for J'2) have this fan-base, is because the show have something to offer, I don't like Lost or TVD, that doesn't mean that I considered that this show's are bad because for some reason have a dedicated fan-base.

Some of my favorites are not in the list, I preffer Anna over Nina, Jared over Jensen, Jim over Misha, I think Japan have better animated show´s than US, that's why I voted Full Metal Alchemist but The Simpson are awesome too...so my point is that only because not all my favorites wins I think that the winners are not the best :)

    ReplyDelete
  131. Could not agree more and stated so more than a few times this month in various polls.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Do you even watch Fringe? For one the other Olivia isn't evil and two it's the subtlety of the differences between the way Anna Torv plays the two that is amazing. I could tell the difference between the 2 without the differences in hair colour.

    ReplyDelete
  133. I don't want to disrespect Supernatural as I don't watch it (I'm sure if I did I'd more than likely enjoy it) but seriously why does it have to win everything - I don't mean just on this poll. I mean in everything!
When I think there are some shows which just go above and beyond awesome EVERY SINGLE episode that just don't get the recognition they deserve because there are less viewers/fans.

    (Bitter Fringe fangirl is bitter)

    ReplyDelete
  134. I agree with regards to Anna... the two roles were obviuously similar... she was playing the original Olivia and someone trying to impersonate her. If she had played them with glaringly obvious differences it would not have been believable. It was so subtle and so well done. That said, I am not sure the character offers Anna enough range to truly show her acting ability or to get her nominated as Best Actress in any of the guild award shows or Emmy Award shows etc. As an actress I think Anna Torv is capable of earning the nomination, but as a character I think Olivia limits Anna greatly. Regardless it is an incredible performance!

    ReplyDelete
  135. Most of the nominated shows (in the critical award shows) are low rated shows if you analyze it. Most of the cable series have numbers around 2-5 million. Fan votes have nothing to do with the nominations or awards (of most awards shows) and that is PRECISELY what makes them mean more. On sites like this it is the revenge of lesser watched shows. The fans rally and show support since to them it means more than those silly TV award shows that always ignore the show they love. For them it is their chance to win something since no award... or even a nomination will be forthcoming in the critical award shows. It is a perfect compliment. Fans can get their wins on polling sites like this one (or it's rather weak imitators) and the critically acclaimed shows get their wins on TV... Different audiences and different results.

    ReplyDelete
  136. YES! SUPERNATURAL!! AND JENSEN! :)

    ReplyDelete
  137. How can u judge if u have not seen it, it is a great show and has a good fanbase because it deserves it, reminds me of star trek fans. I would watch before I made comments about it, be careful though it is addictive

    ReplyDelete
  138. I was just wondering why to people or awards like CW i don't live in America so I am not sure why CW is disliked

    ReplyDelete
  139. Supernatural wins internet polls, because it has the best fans ever period :P And it deserves the fans! Try it, you'll know yourself :)

As for the recognition and the number of viewers, are you out of your mind? have you ever seen Supernatural ratings? It's far from getting as much attention and recognition as it deserves. It has a strong online fanbase, but in reality, it airs on the crappy CW and therefore many people consider it another teenage shit. It has never won any major award except for those based on internet polls.

On the other hand, I'm trying to get through Lost right now and don't get me wrong, it's a good show, but honestly I kinda don't get all the hype around it. Especially that so many characters are so annoying.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Oh no, I know Supernatural has low viewers due to it being on the CW but as far as I'm aware it does pretty damn well for being on the CW - meaning it probably isn't likely to be cancelled.

    ReplyDelete
  141. Hah! I got six right. That is soooo cool. Yay!!!!!! Supernatural and Jensen :) Soooo freakin happy right now it is even hard for me to type. Congrats to everyone who won and to those who even guessed one right. It is the best feeling in the world to get something right for once :)

    ReplyDelete
  142. I agree with Jenny, you should list the names of all the first place winners. It's nice to have the banners too, but there are several that I have no idea who they are.

    ReplyDelete
  143. so agree with you there. CW does not even promote Supernatural that well. Ugh!!! I wished it would go over to the Sci-Fy channel or maybe TNT, but the CW does not deserve to have such an awesome show, especially b/c it is the fans (as stated numorous times by the cast) that keep this show going :) And what is sooo cool and why we love them sooo much is they know how much we care and are always humbled by how much love and admiration the fans show EVERYONE on the show....Not just Jared and Jensen. Most online friends can name show writers and directors. How many shows can do that :)

    ReplyDelete
  144. That is one decision you won't regret. Welcome to the family, future Fringie!

    ReplyDelete
  145. Yes! I love SPN, but got drawn into Fringe this time last year. Season 1 took a while to get into, but the show has gotten better with each episode, and every ep in season 3 has been just outstanding. You won't regret it. :)

    ReplyDelete
  146. You need to watch MOAR tv then!

    ReplyDelete
  147. Alas, this is what happens when you open a public poll... the majority gets it.

    ReplyDelete
  148. I'm not talking about not enjoying the season as much as the previous ones. I've had my issues with it as well... I'm talking about the constant whiners, that keep shouting how much this season SUCKS and how they're done with the show, but yet, they're still there, KEEP WATCHING, JUST TO KEEP COMPLAINING...

    ReplyDelete
  149. YESSS!! GO FRINGE!! :D

awww i love The Event. :( so much hate for it. whatever. i gave up on No Ordinary Family, though. i got behind on episodes that i just stopped caring and gave up.

    ReplyDelete
  150. Win everything??? But only win two categories, like TVD and Chuck too...why people hate us and hate the show so much?? Yes maybe we're very passionate, but we're not the only one (Lost, TVD, Chuck), and you don't see that SPN fans are talking about this show's all the time like others fans do with SPN

    ReplyDelete
  151. The fact that he is such an amazing actor is one of the main reasons why I still watch SPN since I'm not really enthusiastic with the current story line. Jared is not half of an actor that Jensen is.

    ReplyDelete
  152. I don't think you realise that everything here is subjective. Not just the "Best Returning Show."

There is no definitive list saying which actor is better than the other. It comes down to personal preference and your own opinion on the matter.

Heaps of people might say Nicholas Cage is better than Jensen Ackles, because he's been given more opportunity to show more range... however, I think Nicholas Cage is one of the worst and most boring actors on the planet.

Saying that, I don't necessarily disagree that someone like Michael C Hall is better than Jensen Ackles.

But don't think just because you hold that opinion, it then isn't subjective.

    ReplyDelete
  153. "When I say objective, I mean that, were a team of talent scouts to sit down with a grading rubric and give each of the actors a mark based on their performances, the three I mentioned would come out ahead of the others."

I'm sorry but this is an absolutely ridiculous statement. There is no fact behind it, no statistical data, nothing other than your opinion of what may/may not happen if talent scouts sat down and had a tea part.

We all hold our own opinions on what makes a grade in talent. There is NO universal rule when it comes to talent. Someone may like something, while the other may not.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Well smack my face and call me Barbie, I must be a teenage girl.

    ReplyDelete
  155. As someone who doesn't swear to prove a point, for fear of sounding retarded and unable to debate, I fully support you doing it for me.

    Rock on.

    ReplyDelete
  156. Do yourself a favour. Watch more Fringe.

You're on the verge of sounding ignorant.

    ReplyDelete
  157. No historian is going to look back at a SpoilerTV poll and say "this is difinitive proof that Supernatural is THE BEST returning show of 2010."

The poll is more "what is the best FOR YOU...?"

    Too much seriousness here.

    ReplyDelete
  158. I guess, my only answer to your question is...

If you'd like to know why Supernatural wins 'everything,' go watch it and find out.

It may ruin your social life. But it won't kill you.

    ReplyDelete
  159. Because it's human instinct.

    Pretty is pretty is pretty.

    ReplyDelete
  160. It's the way the world has ALWAYS been run.

As human beings, our entire history is littered with beauty being worshipped. Our very nature tells us to go for the beautiful for procreation reasons. Good genes is good genes. Why settle?

    ReplyDelete
  161. Yes, that whole world that voted on this poll.

    ReplyDelete
  162. *clicked on the link to 'best returning show'*
    *jumped out the chair*
    *danced*

    ReplyDelete
  163. I wasn't talking about procriation, but I get the point :)

You're telling me that if it were nowadays Barbra Streisand would have major Top 10 music hits and would also be chosen to be the lead romantic partner in any successful film? I honestly don't believe in that.

I understand that good looks are an important factor to bring audiences onboard, but despite being a Lost 'fanatic' doesn't make me believe that only good-loking guys and gals like the ones playing Sawyer, Juliet, Jack, Kate (and so many more) can win major awards. Example: I don't quite understand how Matthew Fox (Jack) can be considered a better actor than Terry O'Quinn or Michael Emmerson. Not saying that he isn't a good actor, he is, but better than those two I've mentioned... (I'm not talking about this award where he is a lead actor and O'Quinn and Emmerson I suppose are not).

But - hey - that's the way the world is run. That we both can agree, just opt for 'nowadays' or always' ;)

    ReplyDelete
  164. So then what's the point of anything? We're judged throughout our lives based on a set of standardized tests. We go through school where teachers, professors, and science fair judges use a grading rubric in order to be as impartial as possible in an attempt to grade everyone on a similar scale.

You're right in that my assumption about those three actors is ridiculous and subjective; however, the idea that we can't standardize a grading scheme is NOT ridiculous. Honestly, how many people do you think votes for Jensen Ackles based on him being a part of Supernatural, which happens to be their favourite show? Maybe I ought to make a distinction between objectivity and impartiality in order to clarify where I'm coming from?

    ReplyDelete
  165. See above comment for clarification.

    ReplyDelete
  166. i think the only possible positive outcome for this is that you go and watch supernatural :)

    ReplyDelete
  167. I didnt realise i was being "horrible" in expressing my opinion. I think it is, you dont thats fine.

    ReplyDelete
  168. Great show, but out of sight, out of mind. Too bad.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Hey guess what you may have just proven part of my point, Maybe its not just for teen girls but it seems at least a percentage of its fans lack maturity and act like a teenager and cant have a different opinion without resorting to offensive behaviour.
I dont hate supernatural its not a bad tv show, its just i like something that imo is more grown up.

    ReplyDelete
  170. Well congratulations, its just my humble opinion, you dissagree and thats fine. BUT imo its aimed at teen girls, that dosent mean only teen girls like it.

    ReplyDelete
  171. The Event was a little uneven this year, with some great and some not really good episodes. However I see in it the potential to be a really fine TV show, if the writing improves and if given a chance. I'm rooting for The Event.

    ReplyDelete
  172. My comment about The Event was in reply to Lauren M. The reply feature didn't work. Disqus must be having an "off" day.

    ReplyDelete
  173. True! lmao FRINGE is the only show I'm watching on TV right now and I didn't even like sci-fi shows that much. To me, Fringe isn't just about sci-fi stuffs anyway, it's a good combination of everything!!!! Season 3 has been amazinggggg!!!

    ReplyDelete
  174. Couldn't agree more. It saddens me a bit to see Fringe not winning The Best Returning Show, but oh well, reading all the comments here make my day already. Fringies rock!!!

    ReplyDelete
  175. I know right!!! but look at the comments, Fringe is mentioned the most so that gotta show something :)

    ReplyDelete
  176. True that!!!! but Anna Torv is playing 4 characters actually if we also count the part when she plays Alt-Olivia pretending to be Our-Olivia and vice versa. You get the idea :) unfortunately, people who dont watch Fringe wouldn't know what we're talking about and thats sad because Fringe is the BEST show on TV right now, IMHO.

    ReplyDelete
  177. Fringe-related fans always have the majority of the comments here but for some reason we just don't win anything...but it's good to see how supportive us Fringies have been. I love the spirit <3

    ReplyDelete
  178. Make it 2, I'm another disappointed Fringe obsessed fan!!! lols

    ReplyDelete
  179. You know what, I'm used to seeing Fringe, Anna Torv, or John Noble get snubbed so it didn't surprise me when I look at the result. Its weird because we have quite a lot of Fringe fans here on SpoilerTV but never seems to win anything :(

    ReplyDelete
  180. I can't see it overtaking SPN in my affections, but I'm really looking forward to watching it, I've heard such great things about it. :)

    ReplyDelete
  181. Do you watch Fringe? really?? You can't even spell Anna Torv's last name correctly!!! and she literally plays 4 characters, not just 2. And the other one isn't just pure Evil!!! Anyway, you have to watch every bit of it to be able to justify it, otherwise it's not fair for Anna Torv. I, too, am not happy with the best actress category but i'm not complaining simply because I dont know how good Nina Dobrev portrays her characters in there. To me, Anna Torv has been doing an amazing job, period. To each their own, you have your own opinion but please dont bash others!!!! >.<

    ReplyDelete
  182. Most of what I voted for didn't win except for Best Show Ended/Cancelled :(
Oh well, Fringe, Anna Torv and John Noble are already the best to me, period.

BTW, congrats to all the winners!!!

  183. Yeah, I think John Noble is probably the best actor on television today...he does so much even without having the main role and just brings so much to the table...I mean, obviously I am happy Jensen got SOME recognition (coughemmyscough) as SPN is my favorite show, but I think Walter Bishop needs some more recognition :)

  184. Well you COULD argue that, but you'd probably be wrong. Yeah, I said it. I adore Bryan Cranston in his role of a lifetime, but while he is truly doing absolutely ground-breaking work on BB, to dismiss John Noble like that would flat out piss me off, honestly. Cranston gets the stronger role, the more prominent position on a show that can go SO much further into the depths, which is astounding for us to have such a chance to see a show like that, but I'd argue Noble does miracles in his limited role on Fringe. He steals every scene he is in with his incredible portrayal as Walter Bishop. You can see everything Walter Bishop feels in a simple inflection of his voice, and his mannerisms are honed to a science. He's absolutely insanely talented to pull off an inhibited, depressed, obsessive, tragic, guilty, and usually inappropriate character that pulls at your heartstrings and then he turns around and plays a cold, calculative, and downright diabolical alternate version of that character and...ok I am rambling: the point is, I find Cranston and Noble on the same level--both are obvious virtuosos and both deserve as much acclaim as they can get.

  185. Your post is almost as annoying as Nina Dobrev winning Best Lead Actress. Obviously a lot of SPN fans voted, but what can you expect? (While I love SPN, I don't believe I voted for it this year outside of best episode...Fringe and so many other shows were just in their A-Game)...and As for Lost--get the hell over yourself, season 6 was awful with the occasional good episode.

  186. XDDDDDD
Wow. You obviously don't watch Fringe. I happen to watch TVD and Fringe and Anna Torv makes Nina Dobrev look like she needs to just throw in the towels. There's shit going on with Anna's character (being someone who is made to think she is someone else while having a tendency to change character traits, speech patterns, and thought processes several times in one scene) that blows Katherine out of the water, even if I happen to enjoy Nina as Katherine on TVD.

  187. Meh, Jensen > or = Matthew, but you're right about John Noble. lol

  188. I stopped reading when you refused to believe the fundamentals of our basic nature.

The fact we choose beautiful isn't just for procreation... but that is the driving force why we choose.

  189. You're now comparing one own's opinion about a talent to a government set education system? To suggest they're the same is ludacris.

One is being taught from all we, as a society, have learned.

The other is being observed, from one own's practice.

I couldn't care less how many people voted for Jensen because of BLAH. The fact is, they voted for Jensen. They did what was asked of them and they voted who THEY wanted to. This is what happens on public polls.

  191. :-) I spend less time on the click fest than most (minus the TV Guide one of course - that I went after with a vengeance) but I find I can sit and listen to my iTunes during them. A nice mini vacation from the rest of the world.

  193. The CW is not considered a real network and it is known primarily for teen-focused melodramas. Many people feel that if it is on the CW it must be poorly written, poorly acted, and poorly developed. While I would agree that many of the shows do fall in those categories, they also make shows that are exemplary.

One example is Supernatural. Fans of Supernatural often have to fight the same preconceived notions about their show (teeny bopper show, only like it for the hot guys, only watched by girls) and a large part of that is because it is on the CW. People do not realize that Supernatural skews more male and more adult than other CW shows (as does Smallville and Nikita). It has darker themes, more mature situations, and in my opinion, a whole lot better acting than most of the CW. Because Supernatural hits a far different target audience than most of the CW, the network does very little to promote it, relying on its avid fans to keep it in the media.

Short answer - the CW sucks; Supernatural does not (they tend to behead things that suck)

  194. I hope you do try out Supernatural. It's not for everyone, but the characters will capture your thoughts and heart if you let them. It can be downright addicting.

I have also added shows to my list to watch. I'm getting re-caught up on Fringe and I just rented Chuck for the sole reason that people keep talking about them on this site. That's the power of SpoilerTV - I really wish Dark would get kickbacks from all the money I spend due to this site.

BTW - I watch the Good Wife on a semi-regular basis. It is good, especially Kalinda.
