Nikita returns January 27 after Dec 9th episode. Most CW shows expected to return same week

Cancelled Shows Nikita Supernatural Vampire DiariesNikita will return on January 27th for it's 12th episode. It is going on hiatus after thursday (Dec 9). Other CW shows are expected to return the same week with the possible exception of Hellcats which may be delayed till ANTM's return in March.
It is unclear if the CW will make any scheduling changes to shield Vampire Diaries from American Idol, there is some possibility of Vampire Diaries moving to Tuesday 9 PM to replace Life Unexpected but Nikita is staying on thursdays.

ReplyDeleteAnd wait a minute. 30 Rock finally moves out of TVD's slot and now you're telling me TVD is going to move!? Well, I don't watch anything on Tuesdays at that time anyway (except LUX...) and TVD is more of a 9pm show, anyway.
No Supernatural till the end of January ??? I'll just wither up and die while I'm waiting.......I just know I will :(

I thought after 2 episodes In December we would have to wait till February for new Smallville episodes
so this Is good news for Smallville fans.

ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind Vamp Diaries moving to Tuesdays. Then I would not have to wait so long in the week for my weekly dose of Vamp. I'm expecting only one or 2 more episodes in December before the Christmas break.......

ReplyDeleteWhy on earth does the CW those hiatuses at all? Totally pointless. They should just send some series over the winter and the others over the summer. As easy as that.

ReplyDeleteNice! I feared it would be longer since the CW showed 11 episodes before the break! I hope Supernatural returns the same week. The whole American Idol thing will be interesting. If the CW moves TVD to Tuesday what would they put on Thursday? Maybe TVD only swaps places with Nikita.

ReplyDeleteBecause the CW doesn't make as many shows as other networks. ;D Their shows have to last for an entire season, they have maximum 3 mid-season shows.

ReplyDeleteIf the CW moves TVD it's only because they want to protect it from Idol and TVD is a genre show like Smallville or Supernatural, so its audience is very loyal and will follow the show to any night.

ReplyDeleteOK. If VD remains on its timeslot on Thursday, it would be up against American Idol... If they move it to Tuesday, it would be up against Glee. These shows will take away their targeted audience (W18-34) from them. Best bet is to swap it with Nikita as that show doesn't do well in that demo.

ReplyDeleteActually TVD wouldn't be up against Glee, cuz Glee starts at 8pm, as soon as it's done, we'd be able to turn right to TVD...it's a win win situation, but I don't like TVD move, but then again, It would be more convient for me to record Bones and TBBT, ...now that I think about it, it might be a good move, lol
ReplyDeleteI think they'll just move The Vampire Diaries to 9:00 p.m., and switch Nikita to 8.
ReplyDeleteWell if they do that, I think it's still good, cuz then Nikita would be up against A.I. (which I could care less about if they blow Nikita's ratings out of the water) then TVD, wouldn't lose ratings cuz A.I. goes of at 9pm......but what about when A.I. starts havign their 2 hour long episodes??? They'll keep repeating TVD, or possibly have new episodes, but some people might switch to watch A.I....Ugh!! Don't like that idea, I think if they moved to tuesday they'd be safer than the 9pm slot on thursdays...But I can't see TVD on any other day but thursday night, it's too weird, lol
