Modern Family - Season 2 - Matt Dillon to Guest Star

Modern Family is about to demonstrate that Claire Dunphy has always had excellent taste in men. EW has learned exclusively that Matt Dillon will play the ex-boyfriend of Julie Bowen's character in an upcoming episode of the ABC comedy.

Running into her old flame will be more than a little uncomfortable for Claire since he is also her mother's (the returning Shelley Long) current flame. Awkward. Also–potentially hilarious.

This is a rare television appearance for Dillon, who rose to fame as a teen star in movies like Tex and The Outsiders. As an adult, he has starred in such films as There’s Something about Mary, Crash, and Old Dogs.
