Bones Cancelled Shows Castle CSI Las Vegas Glee Grey's Anatomy NCIS SpoilerTV Article Supernatural The Mentalist True BloodUpdate: 23rd December Thanks for all the feedback. We've fixed a couple of errors. Also if you hide the Welcome message, but still want to Submit a Scoop, that can also be found in the "Features and Info" menu.
Hey all.
Something we've been wanting to do for a while is to allow users to customise some aspects of the site.
This is the very early first stage of that process but we wanted to get it out to get some feedback and to iron out any errors, bugs.
This first phase allows you to hide/show the following elements.
Welcome Section
Popular Posts
Graphic Banner
Recent Comments
Search Form
Social Networks Section
RSS Feeds Section
You can access the Customised Page here or via the menu, Features and Info and the Customise link.
Please leave any feedback/bugs etc in the comments below.
Note: You need to have cookies enabled for the customisation to work.

wow that new and so cool ...thank you
ReplyDeleteI customized mine using AdBlock :P

Love it - thanks :D
ReplyDeleteFor me the banner disappears when I try to get rid of the social network section and nothing happens when I try to get rid of the banner (not that I want to get rid of it). Generally I love the idea off removing stuff that I try to ignore every time I come on here, thank you.
ReplyDeleteCool Stuff. I like everything though! :P
ReplyDeleteI click off the things I don't want, hit save and refresh and am presented with the same screen with everything ticked.
ReplyDeleteLooks like it's working fine now, glad you found the bug.
ReplyDeleteWould be great if you could hide the "welcome section" but still have the button for "submit scoop here"
ReplyDeleteIf you're running NoScript in Firefox you'll need to allow scripts from spoilerfiles.com for this to work. Also I'm not sure if it is because of the changes but now I see 'This is working when it is true' beneath the banner. It reads like a code comment.
ReplyDeleteOh, awesome!! This is a seriously cool feature, i love it, there is tons of stuff i don't need to see here and it'll really streamline me getting to the stuff i'm interested in every day. Yay, thanks! :D
ReplyDeleteYou should also add a feature where users can limit their spoilertv updates for only shows they want to see. Just a suggestion. : )
ReplyDeleteThanks, the Submit a Scoop can now also be found in the "Features and Info" menu.
ReplyDeleteAny chance of us being able to hide the Media section? Pretty please! I'll take a stationary add banner over the constantly refreshing media feeds.
ReplyDeleteAh, okay. Well, the current options are nice too. :)
ReplyDeleteRight, try to hit refresh and try again. I found the bug :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, I'll have a think about what we can do about that
ReplyDeleteGlad you like it
ReplyDeleteAh cool. I'll have a look and see if I can find out what's going on.
ReplyDeleteAh cool. Thanks I'll get that fixed tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteAh wonderful :)
ReplyDeleteHmm, are you sure you have cookies enabled and that you're waiting for
ReplyDeletethe page to complete loading?
ha lol
ReplyDeleteCool :)
ReplyDeleteHa, that will work as well ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
ReplyDeleteHopefully at some point in the future we can remove all ads, for now
ReplyDeletethey are a necessary evil :)
We've already removed 3 sets of ads since the site started and we have
removed all ads from the RSS Feed.
Not currently, as that pays our bills.
ReplyDeleteMax, are you referring to the twitter account or something else
ReplyDelete=D
ReplyDeleteI was referring to the main page. When you come to spoilertv you see the most recent updates for all tv shows. I was suggesting possibly making an option where the user can customize it so that they see only shows they want to see, and hide others. That way, all the shows are still available on the top of the page in the dropdown menus, but you only get info for shows you personally care about if you want.
ReplyDeleteYep, that's on my to do list for next year :) Unlike other sites who
ReplyDeletehave whole developments, I'm just on my own here so it takes a little
while ;)
If you use the Chrome Extension you can customise it to tell you when
there is a new post on just the shows you want.
