Kudos to NBC's The Cape for just casting one of my favorite unsung actresses for a two-episode arc.
The wonderfully quirky Illeana Douglas, so great in movies like Ghost World, Dummy and Cape Fear, will appear on the new superhero caper as a nurse named Netta who for years has taken care of a mysterious patient inside The Orchard asylum. Netta ends up in a fierce battle with Orwell (Summer Glau) after Orwell's investigation takes her inside the creepy facility.
A familiar face to TV, Illeana, 45, has previously added her unique flair to such series as Ugly Betty, SVU, and Six Feet Under.

I don't know illeana Douglas but i'm willing to meet her on The Cape. I just hope Orwell wasn't in Terminator mode when they met ;)
ReplyDeleteIMHO Summer Glau is also an unsung actress. I think it is a crime against humanity and good taste that she is not in three blockbuster film a year!

The Orchard asylum sounds like Belle Reve Sanitarium or Lex Luthor's facilities in Smallville.

Well it's Christmas : it seems like a good time to wish for TV miracles.
ReplyDeleteI wish The Cape had 10 millions viewers with a 2.8 in the 18-49 demo.
And i want TSCC back or at least a Direct-to-DVD movie to wrap things up.
