I agree. I thought it was really cool how they made certain actors look alot younger, WITHOUT resorting to CGI. Vance in makeup and a wig, Eli with black hair etc
Was a LOT of backstory to several characters in these 2 episodes, but mostly in this one. The origins of how Eli and Vance met, how Gibbs and Vance met, the origins of the "Paris Operation" etc... Great episode overall, which just reaffirms my belief that the show MUST go on for many more seasons. NCIS has consistently been improving it's ratings over it's now 8 years on television, and the writers still manage to surprise me/us from time to time.
This episode definitely is one of the best I've seen. I agree with what a lot of people are saying about the younger looking cast members and the wrapping up of different stories (start of Vance's career, why Vance ripped up that paper, etc.) I also definitely liked the ass kicking that Ziva gave to Liat, though is wasn't much. She had it coming to her when she covered up the name of the synagogue. I almost cried at the ending with Ziva and her father. Have to watch it again because I didn't really listen well to the conversation they were having.
I liked the McAbby scenes too, they are just the cutest! Is that the second, or third time he's kissed her cheek? LOL
I also really liked the Tony and McGee scenes today, especially when they were talking about Tony being the main person to give McGee nicknames. Also, when Tony told McGee good job for hacking into the interrogation room.
I think it was an awesome episode! I've just DL-ed and watched it :) The insight into Eli's and Vance's past was very interesting. I'm not sure that I'm satisfied with how Ziva and Eli reconnected, though. She had a lot of anger, a lot of frustration and somehow, without her questions being answered in the episode, they reconnect again? Is that because Eli almost died? Hmmm....... Anyway, I liked the back flashes to Amsterdam and Paris. And a little remembrance of Jenny Shephard! That was truly great!
I can't believe they've tied this back to Jenny Shepard. When Vance became director of NCIS, his orders to clean house must have included discovering McCallister treachery. That's pretty impressive. I loved Gibbs and Leon's first meeting .. over Gibbs' danish.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Can anyone believe that I, a huge fan of the series, FORGOT ABOUT THE TONIGHT?
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I'm gonna have to download it now. ¬¬'
No I cant believe it.
ReplyDeleteIt was amazing, from start to finish. Definitely a two-parter I will enjoy over and over and over again. AMAZING!!
