Lie To Me - 3.07 Beyond Belief - Review

Lightman goes head-to-head with a self-help expert following a woman's attempted suicide on tonight's Lie To Me. Here's an excerpt from my review:

I've never liked self-help gurus. The idea of someone else thinking they know what's best for me has never sat well with me. Of course, there's always the slim possibility they could be a cult leader, as in this episode of Lie To Me.

A woman comes to Cal after the attempted suicide of her mother, blaming it on John Stafford (David Sutcliffe), who wants to call himself a self-help expert, but whom Cal calls a "scam artist." However, when Cal and Gillian actually visit Carol Ashford (Julia Campbell, last seen as the wife of the Trinity Killer on Dexter), she's quite the happy drone. Needless to say, that's Cal's red flag that everything is not fine, and he should begin poking around with his usual deviousness.
