"Peter struggles to cope with recent events"? That sounds serious. Has it finally gotten through their thick skulls that it's not their Olivia? I hope so. But I hope it's Nina who spills the beans even more.
The ally has to be Henry. It has to be.
I hope this means our Dunham finally comes home. It's only been half a season. But I have to admit, the altverse has grown on me. I might actually miss spending an alternating week there. But nothing can compare to having our team all on one screen. That'll be exciting.
What is incomprehensible is that Olivia doesn't just comes home by her own power. Or why didn't she stay when she made it to the shop with the snowglobes.
I myself don't like the alternative universe much. And I hate the alternating immensely. I'd prefer if the story would run simultaneously in both worlds
I just want to say Olivia learning to cross isn't like she can click her heels three times and say' there's no place like home'. She is still learning how to use her abilities. She can't just pop in and out of a universe. (Yet. And even then There has energy detection technology that can locate where anomalous signatures are recorded like when Olivia uses her ability to get there in the first place.) As for this synopses, I think it's safe to say Peter now knows he was sleeping with the enemy (thus the struggling to cope with events) and this cross-universe communication device will have Ourlivia talking to someone Here. Maybe Walter if not Peter. Perhaps on honing her ability or finding a weak spot where it's easiest to cross.
How could they tell any story if they did both worlds simultaneously unless they took out the subplot of each episode that ties in to the big picture?
And Olivia couldn't control her powers at the gift shop, she was dragged back into the alternate universe. Remember in season 2 how she needed 3 more Cortexiphan subjects to help her in order to cross to the other side? Doing it alone must be much harder.
That's a contradiction. She needed help to get to the other side. With the help of Walternate she got here. But she should have stayed here. What the hell would have dragged back here? Its her own abilities that took her back, which she used. I think its just bad writing. Also how easy it was to cross didn't fit either. She needed three other people for that previously.
lol Bad writing, right. Olivia (as it has been shown several times) has had to have some sort of catalyst to keep her in a world she's just crossed over to. It was stated, (yet never demonstrated) that William Bell "helped" her over to the other side in the first season. The second season, she had to do it herself, and Walter knew that having the Cortexiphan children would work to aid in the endeavor. However, Cortexiphan is in her body and does something to the mind (still unexplained fully) but if accessed, Olivia is able to do a myriad of things that are generally seen as impossible: putting her in the tank in the first season allowed her to decode the implanted memories of her slain partner, and use them to her benefit. Other Cortexiphan children can cause and heal cancer, manipulate emotions, and start fires...Olivia has amazing photographic memory and can hear things every once in a while... She has yet to harness these capabilities as of yet, so she needs a push to access her abilities. Putting her in that tank and hitting the right amount of stress seemed to activate the cortexiphan and it pushed her over, but that doesn't mean that it works so well that she should just stay there... I'd think it would be like some sort of recoil of the even that took place. Remember that getting "from here" to "Over there" is much like passing through a gradient, the two worlds aren't separated completely, they occupy space that is very closely packed: She landed in a store that was obviously on the Island with the Statue of Liberty--she was in the gift shop, and looked onto the mainland. Once the process was over she was unable to keep herself there because (as William Bell said) the "door" was shut and pulled her back through. She ended up back in the tank which is part of the D.O.D. that just happens to be stationed underneath the Statue of Liberty.
I think this means Peter finds out he's been decieved (yet again!) by Bolivia. Bolivia is in trouble because she's been made so she's in need of help, and the team finds the typewriter (and the typewriter shop) (a device that communicates between universes)....
So sad we have to wait until December for this....:(
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

Wait a minute. I think they are referring to the other Olivia. She's also looking for an ally, having terminated all of hers.
ReplyDeleteThat's how I read it. Could this maybe be the the return of Sam Weiss. He could be an ally for Bolivia
ReplyDeleteWhen is episode 8 airing. Is next week the last of 2010?
ReplyDeleteWhy would they need to take out the subplot?

It wouldn't make sense if it was the Olivia on this side. She can communicate with the typewriter.
ReplyDeleteAccording Fringepedia, it's airing Dec 2. I believe the Simpson's movie has pre-empted the timeslot.
ReplyDeleteIf it's an OVER HERE episode, why would the original Olivia need to look for allies. Besides, the typewriter can't help her if she's on the run.
ReplyDeleteWhy would the over here one need to search? Who knows how many shapeshifters she has at here disposal. Well, maybe if she lost one. :)
ReplyDeleteIt seems I misread the synopsis though. I thought Olivia was searching for a communication device.

ReplyDeleteDoes this help at all?
i believe that olivia is suppose to come home this week but doesnt show herself till next week...thats what i thought

I'm sure her coming "home" will be the last scene of the episode.
ReplyDeleteor alt-Nina, where is she BTW?
